It probably would of been a better experience if I had seen them life

Oh yeah dude, they were amazing live. I headbanged and headrolled to all the songs they played there.

And when they were at their table selling merchandise (I don't think they were doing so hot since everyone was out by the stage, they probably got their stuff sold after Wintersun, but I digress), I stepped on by during Arsis' gig, since I was getting slightly thirsty while in the moshpit. The Parker (vocals and lead guitar) was pretty cool to talk to, I'm glad I bought one of their shirts and album. It's an amazing first album.

I was more surprised by the fact that people confused me for the bassist of the band. When I was over at their table, waiting for the real bassist to get back since they had their card swipe (for iPad, etc.), I was sitting at a table, drinking some ice water, and some people came over. We started talking, and then one dude kept progressing his conversation, and then he gave it away that he thought I was the bassist. When I told him otherwise, he was astonished, and said I looked just like him. When I told the bassist, he sorta laughed and thought that it was funny. Parker just told me to go with it. I admit, it was an amazing night with a nice twist.

Still had this one guy who ruined it for some people though. Another story for another day.

That's one thing I love about going to hardcore shows, the bands really care about the fans and they're more than willing to hang and chat after shows.

Looking forward to the new Pelican album, the new tracks are pretty awesome.

Damn, it sounds like it'll be an awesome album.

Since we've shifted over to a Post-Metal mood:

On a different note, anyone know if The Devil Wears Prada are worth checking out? I've heard mostly bad stuff about them, though just curious to know if they really are worth checking out.

Rosetta is so awesome. Best band I've seen live so far.

Most people associate them with the standard fare of scene-core bands but I don't think they're that bad. Check out their album Dead Throne first, then their other stuff.

I figured that's why they get so much hate, I'll check out Dead Throne sometime

Rosetta would be one hell of a concert live

Genghis Tron are weird.

They're quite a bit better than anything else in the scene, but they do their fair share of chugging. Not djent though, thank God.

You have no idea. Smallest venue I've ever been to. Only light was a single spotlight on one of their amps that made the band look like silhouettes on the tiny stage which wasn't even a foot tall. I grabbed Mike Armine's legs during "Wake" and he put the mic to my mouth. I got to stage dive and crowd surf during the climax of "Je n'en connais pas la fin." The sound was incredible.

If they ever come to your area, do not miss them.

Genghis Tron are weird.

Well that was...um...yes.

I like the singer's guest spot on Converge's "Wretched World" though, he does the clean vocals.

Eh, I'm good with chugging as long as it doesn't go to the point of Djent

Really he hid the guest vocals for Wretched World, that's sweet.

It's tasteful chugging, here's a sample.

Yeah I listened to about half of the album last night, it wasn't bad, at all. I only stopped because I felt like listening to something else during the album, I'll probably listen to the rest tonight.

So far that one was my favorite track from the album

For some reason I could never get into TDWP.  I think it's the vocals.

They don't have the best vocalist, though the vocals aren't bad at all.

Oh yeah I read the long list of guest appearances on the album, it's quite obvious that Steve Von Till did the vocals on Cruel Bloom, his vocals have quite the sound to them.

Anyways, TYPE O NEGATIVE

Yea, his voice is awesome.

I got Vein and Flood in the mail today, so happy. The CD version of Vein is pretty awesome, it's only half as long but they cut out all the unnecessary noise to make the album more concise and streamlined.

HOW DARE THEY CUT OUT THE NOISE >=O

But anyways Vein and Flood are both two of my favourites by Boris, definitely amazing albums.

Yea, his voice is awesome.

And easy to recognize

I actually like it better this way haha. The songs are still just as intense. Each disc is only 18 minutes long though.

I actually wasn't being serious, I couldn't care less if they kept the noise or not, it still would be a pretty epic album

It's usually because of money and stuff but it's still annoying. It'd be nice to have friends more dedicated to this stuff.

Well if the money's that big of a problem then I guess there's nothing that they can really do.

Oh and also I finished listened to Dead Throne, not bad of an album, definitely not the best that I've heard, but it's far from being bad. TDWP seem to be an alright band.

Well it's not so much they don't have the money, just that they suck at saving it for cool events like shows.

Yea, they're a decent band but that's about as far as I'd go. I used to be big into them but it was a long time ago. I'd say that their other stuff is worth checking out too, they used to be a bit different.

I'll probably try out some of their other stuff as well, I was originally gonna go for With Roots Above and Branches Below, since I liked the album artwork a lot.

Yea, Dan Seagrave. He did the art for Dead Throne too, as well as tons of other metal releases.

With Root Above and Branches Below is pretty good but it's probably their most accessible album.
