They're one of the important bands to the history of Sludge, tons of bands have noted them as an influence, if you wanna start getting into Melvins, I recommend Houdini as a start. Also I realy dig that trck you posted, gonna look more into those guys.

Look them up on facebook, their latest album is free on bandcamp.

I'll put that Melvins album on my list, I have a lot of things I need to check out haha.

I've decided that Norma Jean's Redeemer and O God, the Aftermath are tied. Both are completely sick for different reasons but are both just as good.

Think I'm gonna listen to the latter back-to-back with We Are the Romans to see which one I really like more.

I prefer We Are The Romans over anything that Norma Jean has done, most likely because I'm more used to Botch

We Are the Romans is a classic but O God, the Aftermath has a special place in my heart. Just try listening to the time changes in "Charactarantula" without your head exploding.

Redeemer is also an incredibly unique hardcore record, dunno why it doesn't get more praise.

Guys The Chariot just broke up I'm dying

O' GOD THE AFTERMATH...

This sucks, I know. Spinning Long Live and One Wing while still in denial. Need to check if they'll be coming to nyc for their last tour and just imagine that they're still touring and I just keep on missing their shows.

Long Live is their best in my opinion so I hope they play a lot of stuff from that, think it'd be kinda weird if they didn't come to Florida. I've been listening to all of their albums the past few days.

I've only listened to One Wing and Wars and Rumors of Wars, I should probably go check out Long Live and The Fiancee.

Anyways listening to lots of Underoath right now, it took a long time for me to get into them, but I eventually did get into them recently.

Their first album is my second favorite, Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding

Also their last tour is with Birds In a Row and Glasscloud. How sick is that.

About time! Define the Great Line got me into hardcore music.

I had a hard time getting into them because of the clean vocals in some of their songs, but eventually I was able to get used to them, now I really like their stuff, I can't tell which album I prefer, Define The Great Line or Lost In The Sound of Seperation.

Ø (Disambiguation) is great as well, ex-Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davison (he was on their first three albums) took over drums after Aaron Gillespie left. Spencer does all the clean vocals on that album and he's really good.

I'll probably check out that album as well when I get around to it as well their other stuff

You're in for a surprise if you listen to anything before They're Only Chasing Safety, though that album might be a surprise too if you haven't listened to it already.

I've listened to their stuff with Dallas before their first two albums seem to take more of a Death Metal-ish route, quite surprising to know that they're the same band

I wouldn't really call them the same band, they didn't have any original members by the time they recorded Ø (Disambiguation). S'all good though, the first three albums are still great for different reasons.

True, but it's neat how they evolved from that sound. I've only heard a few of their older songs, and I should probably try listening to the full albums sometime, I'll get around to it.

I agree. They're Only Chasing Safety actually introduced me to hardcore, but Define the Great Line sold me to it. I still remember listening to the latter for the first time and being blown away.

Those fans are retarded.

Interesting, not sure if I enjoy the blend of vocal styles though. I like the Jacob Bannon-esque vocals more than the beefy, lower shouts.

I've only heard a few tracks from They're Only Chasing Safety, so from what I've heard off of that album, I'd have to agree.

I think it sounds pretty good, and I agree that the Bannon style vocals are better than the other vocals. I think that the whole "Blackened Hardcore" thing is pretty cool

The new Fleshgod album is available today in NA. This is probably my most anticipated album for 2013. I just saw them live in TO last week and they killed it. I hung out by their bus after the show and got to meet the drummer, keyboardist and singer. Definitely one of the best shows I've been to.

It's not a bad album by any means, but it really pales in comparison to anything they've done since then.

Speaking of blackened hardcore, I just discovered this band.

Good find, how about I leave some Rorcal, really heavy and sludgy sounding Atmospheric Black Metal

The name makes me think death metal. I love hanging with bands, the hardcore scene is so friendly and personal. I feel like metal can be that way too.

My most anticipated release was either Norma Jean's Wrongdoers or Rosetta's The Anaesthete. Both were great, and both bands are awesome live.

Think you showed me these guys once. Absolutely massive sound.
