Susie
Good to know. Band came from my hometown and pretty much created or more or less shape the metal scene of New Orleans. Happy to see that I'm not the only Eyehategod fan around here, and also it's pretty cool that they came from your hometown. While we're on a Sludge topic, might as well post some Melvins, they're pretty cool too

Billy Batson
I like sludge even though I'm into hardcore more than metal. Also, do people consider Mastodon or Neurosis as sludge metal?
Susie
Sludge is good. Baroness are cool I like sludge even though I'm into hardcore more than metal. Also, do people consider Mastodon or Neurosis as sludge metal? Mastodon are Progressive mixed with Sludge, and Neurosis are Post-Metal which is basically just Sludge Metal with Post-Rock influences, so yeah they both count. Grief are a good Sludge band as wellGood Metal for when you're in an unhappy mood
Dismal Euphony
I think that it's safe to say that Dismal is a little more "tame" of a Metalhead than Maximal is Been digging Depressive Black Metal a lot recently, so I'll just post this here I used to be one of those people that bashed basically everything I didn't like, but then I grew up. No two people have the exact same opinion on music and I learned to embrace that and respect it. When you give the whole "metal crusader" act a rest, you can actually learn something from others and their tastes in metal (or lack thereof). Also, Woods of Desolation is top-notch DSBM. I blast that album regularly, to be honest. So good. A little more black metal for you, from Italy.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngtTV1o2gj0 I like sludge even though I'm into hardcore more than metal. Also, do people consider Mastodon or Neurosis as sludge metal? Sorry for the double-post, but I forgot to include this in my post... Both of them are a bit more progressive than sludge, but they're often credited for their huge amounts of sludge influence.

What everyone else said. I think Neurosis is closer to the hardcore scene though, they started as a hardcore punk band.

What everyone else said. I think Neurosis is closer to the hardcore scene though, they started as a hardcore punk band. They're more closer in the Post-Metal scene if any, only their first two albums were Hardcore Punk.
~NOiSE~
They're more closer in the Post-Metal scene if any, only their first two albums were Hardcore Punk. I mean I associate most post-metal bands with the hardcore scene rather than the metal scene, since Neurosis basically created the genre and they started as a hardcore band. I think post-metal bands have more in common with hardcore bands than metal bands.

I think post-metal bands have more in common with hardcore bands than metal bands. I definitely agree that Post-Metal bands are more in common with Hardcore music, the vocals that the bands usually use are some obvious pointers, and I also like to think that they have more in common with Post-Rock. Kinda get confusing that some people called Mastodon as a sludge band while some call them prog metal and same goes with Neurosis but I started with Neurosis when they were still a hardcore band. I mean I associate most post-metal bands with the hardcore scene rather than the metal scene, since Neurosis basically created the genre and they started as a hardcore band. I think post-metal bands have more in common with hardcore bands than metal bands. I thought that was the case in general. Even bands like EyehateGod, a sludge band is more closely related to the hardcore scene in my hometown even though they started/shape the metal scene here. Susie
Where the hell is everyone I'm still here, I've just been waiting for something to pop up, I've heard of KEN Mode though I never bothered to listen to them until now, what was I missing out on all this time. Anyways, I haven't been in a Metal mood for a while (not like Metal was my main to-go genre in the first place, though I still do love it), so I'll just leave the classic Integrity here, I'm probably gonna check out one of their albums sometime soon. Susie
Actually the trailer was for this song~ Yeah I did notice that, though since I've now heard the full version of the song, I can say that I liked every second of it, not the best that I've heard from them, though it still is a good song

I've listened to them a couple of times and I'm personally not a big fan of them, I wouldn't call them terrible like what most other anti-Deafheaven BM fans are like, though I probably just dislike them because I prefer the depressing side of BM, not the happier side of BM.
