For me this sounds like trash metal, and not very heavy in my oppinion

Nah, it's actually recycle metal with a few element of zinc, iron, copper and titanium. And in my opinion, a metal band doesn't have to be heavy to be good.

Oh yeah, The Ocean are pretty good, haven't listened to much of them, though I plan on picking up Pelagial sometime

Awesome mate. Their first 2 lp are basic progressive metal albums. They changed their direction to post-metal on their third album. Precambrian their best but Pelagial is good too.

I found Pelagial in the store, so I know that it's there and I'll be picking a copy up the next time I see it, though I'll definitely check out Precambrian as well.

I like everything they've done before Heliocentric, there are some good things on that and Anthropocentric but I can't listen to them without thinking that the members are incredibly pretentious. I might listen to Pelagial if the concept is less heavy-handed.

How's this for heavy?

Oh and one more thing...new Norma Jean album!!

Yup, I've got their debut on my computer and I've listened to Redeemer, both great albums.

You should definitely listen to O God, the Aftermath if you haven't. The band is often accused of ripping off Botch's We Are the Romans if that's any incentive.

Yeah I've heard of that whole "Norma Jean ripped off Botch" on that album, I plan on listening to it sometime soon.

It does sound similar to be honest (they even had the same producer), but I'd hardly call it a rip-off...in any case it's my favorite Norma Jean album.

So far out of the two Norma Jean albums that I've listened to, their debut remains as my favorite, though it was a tough call since Redeemer is still pretty epic too.

None of their albums really sound the same, but they keep it interesting. I think Redeemer is my second favorite.

Might as well leave this split before I head off, Converge/Agoraphobic Nosebleed

The Converge tracks:

The AP NS tracks:

Then I'll definitely have to check out some more Norma Jean albums.

Posting some envy~

That Envy was some pretty good stuff

Converge did a cover of one of my favorite songs by The Cure

Also apparently Misery Signals are coming back for a new album

Okay now we have Norma Jean and Misery Signals releasing new material, The Dillinger Escape Plan released Prancer, and now all we need is Converge, GAZA, Botch, and Pig Destroyer to release new albums, then we'd have the best of the -core genres.

Converge, Gaza and Pig Destroyer all released their latest albums in the second half of 2012, and Botch died in 2002 haha.

It'd be cool if Knut released something though, haven't heard anything from them since 2010.

Yeah I know all of that, though I was just saying that it would be awesome if all of those bands were to release an album in one year, that would be all of my weekly allowance thrown out of the window. That Knut song was pretty good too, definitely gonna check out more of them.

It's all good, I want them to make new stuff too haha.

Listen to Challenger first, it's the best Knut album. They're on Hydra Head records and their album art has been done by both Jacob Bannon and Aaron Turner, so you know these guys are good haha.

I definitely will, I wish I could download the album, but I can't do digital downloads, at least ones that cost money. Though I'm searching it up on YouTube so I can listen to the album on there. or I can just listen to it on bandcamp

Do you have Spotify? It should be on there.

No I don't have Spotify, kind of a bit lazy to go onto it, though I hear that it's great, so I'm probably gonna go get Spotify now.

It is pretty great, it's basically got everything the iTunes library does except you can listen to whole songs.
