Shikari.

No, not Enter Shikari.

Shikari, one of the most intense skramz groups around, almost more so than Orchid.

Oh lol, at first I thought you were talking about Enter Shikari and I was kind of surprised at that. Though yeah that was an awesome album, I definitely need to look more into skramz, it really seems like my kind of genre.

Posting Eyehategod because I feel like it

And probably the hardest band to find. Saw their s/t ep on my local store and came back the next day to buy it and it's gone.

These guys might just be as intense but I think Ampere might be the most intense skramz of all time.

Add this to your list guys. This is one underrated screamo band.

I loved that song, I'm making a list of all these skramz bands right now.

Envy, City Of Caterpillar, PG.99, Circle Takes The Square, Saetia, Moss Icon, 1994!, Orchid, Gospel, Pianos Become The Teeth, Snowing, Pity Sex, Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) and Rites Of Spring.

Perfect list for folks new to the genre.

I'm seeing Pianos Become the Teeth next Saturday.

And City of Caterpillar might be my favorite screamo album.

Also, have Orchid's Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow! + Chaos Is Me compilation coming in the mail, as well as Shikari's 1999-2005 compilation, which includes their entire discography if I'm not mistaken.

This is one awesome list. I would add I would set myself on fire for you, Funeral Diner, Comadre and Mineral cause they are easy to get into.

Saw Pity Sex last May and will be seeing them again when I'm visiting my cousin in Meza, Arizona.

Add Off Minor to the list as will, great group with lots of mathy parts.

Oh Moog, I finally got a copy of Pig Destroyer's Book Burner. It's awesome.

Comadre are good too, I've listened to their self-titled album.

Though Book Burner may not be as good as Prowler In The Yard or Terrifyer it still was a damn good album. I've got the 2-Disc edition and I enjoy it. The album also came with a short story called The Atheist, and it was pretty interesting.

Also I listened to City of Caterpillar's self-titled album, it was actually quite good, and I really enjoyed it.

I actually like Book Burner a lot more than most people seem to (not their best though, that goes to Terrifyer). I also have the 2-disc version and the story is definitely interesting, though I think Hayes has a very narrow-minded view of what a Christian is.

Have you listened to Phantom Limb? Also amazing.

Yeah Phantom Limb was a damn good album as well. and I agree that it is a narrow-minded view of what a Christian is, but regardless it was interesting read. My favorite Pig Destroyer album remains as Prowler In The Yard, though Terrifyer comes out in a close second.

I haven't listened to Prowler In the Yard in full yet, but I'll get on that soon. I was always kind of afraid to listen to it. >_>

I'm guessing that you're referring to the album cover and Jennifer, some crazy stuff right there.

I'm a bit iffy on Pig Destroyer since their lyrics are pretty much about screw the government or religion are wrong. But I do enjoy Napalm Death or Cripple Bastards though so I was thinking bout buying Terrifyer since I saw it on my local store. So, what other Pig Destroyer rec you guys recommend? Anything close Napalm Death would be good.

That's not really true, a few of their songs are like that, though if you don't like those kind of lyrics then just don't listen to Book Burner. Terrifyer's a good starter for going on Pig Destroyer.

Pig Destroyer's lyrics on their first three albums are mostly just short, macabre stories, not too much of the political or religious stuff. Book Burner has some of that but I don't think it's too heavy-handed unless you read the short story that comes in the deluxe version. It's basically about a televangelist becoming president and turning the US into a dystopia where nonbelievers are tortured and/or killed. It's a decent read though.

I agree with Moog, Terrifyer is a good place to start. They also did a split with Orchid if you haven't checked that out, the Orchid tracks are some of the heaviest they've done (they're all on their Totality compilation though). The Pig Destroyer tracks are very raw but nonetheless crushing.

They did WHAT?!? I'm gonna go look up that split album right now, it sounds like it'll be a fun ride of an album
