Okay, then let's shake it off with some good old nu-metal. Before they suck that is.

Oh I'm not offended or anything haha. I might pick up one of their records actually, they sound so good.

I've ever been into Mudvayne, only nu-metal I dig now is old-school Deftones.

Also been digging these guys a lot recently (not nu-metal, obviously).

Another awesome band that broke up this year.

I know mate. Hope some of them turn up in a new band within the genre like most of them usually does. i.e Ampere.

Anyway, was craving for a good ol  cheese burger since I haven't had any meat at all on Friday. It's 1.28 in the morning and I 'm enjoying my cheese burger on McD and this song came up on the speaker.

Song was from my fav emo record of 2012

How have I not seen this thread before?! O.o

Anyway, I feel I should contribute to this.

Now, I initially laughed at the idea of Folk metal - I pictured a guy screaming to a banjo. But a friend introduced me to these guys, and I just fell in love with the band:

I feel like Eluveitie is Dark Tranquillity during medieval times. I like Dark Tranquillity better though.

See, they remind me much more of a few thrash metal bands, so I assume they are actually thrash metal. I see the resemblance, but I personally prefer Eluveitie. That sort of celtic/gaelic traditional-style music has recently attracted me.

That Dark Tranquillity remind me more of these guys to be honest:

Though again, I prefer these guys.

Dark Tranquillity is a staple in terms of melodic death metal; they're not really thrashy... 3 Inches of Blood is more along the lines of power metal. I enjoy their album "Advance and Vanquish", but I can only listen to like 2 or 3 songs before his voice starts to annoy me.
