Chainsaw Gutsfuck is probably more sadistic than Slayer, hahaha.

Well of course Chainsaw Gutsfuck is worse than Raining Blood

I think you read what I said wrong, I wasn't meaning to say that Slayer were more sadistic than Mayhem

I meant to say that I'd just rather listen to them

Industrial metal was always hit and miss with me... I do, however, really enjoy Shade Empire. Great band, there.

Same for me but I really like Sybreed, they're insanely catchy and I love Ben's voice among other things. I'll check out Shade Empire tomorrow~

I don't listen to too much Satanic black metal. I aim for more depressive/atmospheric/melodic... Some of my preferred bands are Shining, Panopticon, Peste Noire, Agalloch, Aaskereia, Altar of Plagues, Lantlos, Amesoeurs, Austere, Woods of Desolation, Deafhaven, Fen, Falls of Rauros, Pestilential Shadows, Photophobia, Petrychor, Forest Stream.

I may have gotten a little gung-ho with that list, but they're all quality black metal bands.

By the way, will be checking these bands out in the near future. I'm also really interested in checking out Blut Aus Nord.

Blut Aus Nord is good, but I feel as though they get more hype than they deserve. Their album Ultima Thulée was really good, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to recommend.

Blut Aus Nord kind of disappointed me years ago when I discovered them because, as a fan of the French black metal scene, they weren't what I was hoping for. Their sound ties in more with the Scandinavian scene. Nonetheless, I'm getting a little long-winded here; I would suggest you try to get a hold of their debut album Ultima Thulée if you wish to check them out.

Will check that one out, I've also heard that 777 - Cosmosophy is amazing.

I just found this song today

Me being a fan of both Depeche Mode and Metal

Find it nice to see that a band would do a Depeche Mode cover and do a good job on it

Converge are the undisputed kings of metalcore.

I can't honestly say that I've listened to that one yet. I was given really bad reviews so I've just never really bothered to check it out.

I've found myself listening to A LOT of Catamenia today. They get a lot of crap for some reason, but they're one of my favorite melodic black metal bands out there.

I'm listening to it and it's actually really sweet. I think Blut Aus Nord's big thing was their really avant-garde style they took on after their first few albums.

Also ordered Agalloch's Faustian Echoes and Whitedivisiongrey, so those should be in my mailbox a few days from now.

I preferred their more "straight-up" style, personally. That's all a matter of opinion though.

I've yet to listen to Whitedivisiongrey, but Faustian Echoes was wonderful.

It's a joke bro and my favorite would be The Eye of Every Storm and Times of Grace would be a close second.

I know haha, I guess it can be hard to convey tones over text~

Those are probably my my two favorites as well, but Given to the Rising is absolutely sick.

Maybe we should have a sarcastic or joking font to indicate that. lol. And agreed on you with Given To Rising being absolutely sick.

The only mediocre LP by them would probably be Pain Of Mind but even that album is 10x better than most band's debut album. The only reason Honor Found In Decay felt underwhelm is because of how good Given to the Rising was.

I'm ok with Honor Found In Decay unlike most aren't. Not their best but not their worst either. Never expected a long discussion for Neurosis. Yay for me then.

No hardcore collection is complete unless it contains at least one Neurosis record.

Hey guys, new Norma Jean song.
