I'm not anti-Christian, but still. Bringing Christianity into an anti-Christian based genre of music is wrong. I have no problem with them being Christians just with them preaching about it in metal.

You obviously haven't listened to Crimson Moonlight or Renascent. They are very good at playing Black Metal (or Unblack Metal or White Metal or whatever the hell people call it) and IMHO people preaching Death and Satanism in every damn song they make (I am saying this as a Satanist myself) is just a bad as people preaching Christianity in every song.

Also... I would advise you to check out the bands Limbonic Art, Dark Fortress, Capitollium, and Carach Angren if you haven't already. They aren't Christian bands either. :'D

Oh...

Obligitory video (cause copying Poc is my new hobby).

I f***ing LOVE THAT SONG. D:

To even classify it as a Christian band means that it has brought some form of the religion into the genre of music. I'd rather listen to Dimmu Borgir scream about Satan all day rather than underOath preaching and making horrible music. I must admit, a lot of Christian metal bands are prosperous and well composed but it just doesn't seem like it's right to go on tour with guys like Suicide Silence and Whitchappel when we know for a fact that a lot of their songs down their god. I'm an atheist but I hate Christianity, that may be why I frequently down the presence of it in Death metal. Compare these two side to side http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlxHMUzhPuM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9cqKafnUrk Which was better? Exactly, Dimmu :P. I don't know.... Bit stilll, your opinion is your opinion and you have a right to that xD.

To even classify it as a Christian band means that it has brought some form of the religion into the genre of music True, but that does not stop it being good music or having good musicianship.. I'd rather listen to Dimmu Borgir scream about Satan all day rather than underOath preaching and making horrible music. You can't condemn an entire group just by one shitty band. And besides, new Dimmu is fairly poor. I must admit, a lot of Christian metal bands are prosperous and well composed but it just doesn't seem like it's right to go on tour with guys like Suicide Silence and Whitchappel when we know for a fact that a lot of their songs down their god That is the choice of the touring band(s). All they're asking from you is a good time.. I'm an atheist but I hate Christianity, that may be why I frequently down the presence of it in Death metal From what I've experienced, death metal tends to be a very anti-Christian type of genre, along with black metal. But if you can't appreciate the lyrical content/background of the music, that is your problem. Not the music's. Unless it's poor. Like Underoath. Compare these two side to side http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlxHMUzhPuM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9cqKafnUrk Which was better? Exactly, Dimmu :P You just compared two videos in which one was blatantly more produced than the other. That's a little biased, surely?. I don't know.... Bit stilll, your opinion is your opinion and you have a right to that xD. This is the most intelligent thing you've said atm. ;P

I myself am a nihilist, but I just thought I'd chip in.

I do believe nobody in this thread has mentioned Five Finger Death Punch so far.

The Bleeding is the only solo I can play, great new band mentioned.

Currently listening to The Pretty Reckless, doubt they are metal enough for this thread but still they're pretty killer, and Taylor has a hell of a set of lungs on her. Very much like.

Well the thing with religions in Metal is always tricky. I used to like Crimson Moonlight and Virgin Black and they both had some Christian or inspired content in their songs but not too much. But there was another band though, with a Scandinavian name I think, and they were all "let's butcher teh guys with teh inverted cross", "hang them and slith them up~". Freaking scary.D:

But at least they put away the stereotype of Metal bands being uber Satanic.=D
