Metal... genders?

Wat.

Anyways, death metal is far too broad of a genre to just say "I hate." There's dozens of genres and subgenres. Unless you've listened to tons of songs from nearly every single death metal based genre, you couldn't honestly say it.

Yes dude i listen to anything metal the important thing is to stay true to metal that's for me lol

What, the hell.

If only there was a way to remove the vocals.

@Zoidburg. You said Thrash sucks, which is essentially the same as saying Death Metal sucks.

Thrash metal = speedpicking powerchords over and over again and adding a fast solo in the mix.

Death metal = a vast genre that if filled with not only melody, but creativity, variation, and pure originality. At least in most cases.

Thrash and death are two completely different animals, my friend.

That's like, your opinion, man. But really, that shows you really haven't heard much thrash metal. Death Metal is a wide genre? It all sounds incredibly similar to me, because I don't listen to it. It all comes down to personal taste really. Again, stating I don't like Death Metal is just as valid an opinion as you not liking Thrash, someone not liking rap, or country or whatever.

Not really. Death metal uses an overall higher level of technique than thrash.

But really, that shows you really haven't heard much thrash metal.

It all sounds the same to me.

You're not in your place to judge it if you don't listen. Death Metal is an incredibly vast genre. Listen to The Black Dahlia Murder, then listen to Ulcerate, and try to tell me they sound the same.

It all comes down to personal taste really.

Not really. Whether or not you like the genre, sure. But not whether or not they sound the same.

Again, stating I don't like Death Metal is just as valid an opinion as you not liking Thrash, someone not liking rap, or country or whatever.

Death metal and thrash are two very different things, man. If you think Metallica sounds, in the slightest, like Ulcerate or The Black Dahlia Murder, your hearing must be a little off.

I NEVER said they were similar. You misunderstood me. I just mean that the concept of not liking either genre is the same.

Playing Death is "harder" than Thrash yes. But that really doesn't make Death better.

Jazz is harder to play than metal in general, should that matter?

And things sounding the same, yes, it is a matter of opinion. If you don't listen to something, then obviously you're going to have a harder time telling two songs of the genre apart than someone who does.

Just for the record, I do like Children of Bodom, if that counts for anything.

It all comes back to this.

If you don't listen to it, you shouldn't go quick to assume that all of it sounds the same. You should either let it go, or go explore the genre more to see if you can prove yourself wrong.

How can you not post the band that started it all.

"Started"? Metallica didn't start s***, they just got famous. Black Sabbath started it all. It's like saying Venom started Black Metal, when Bathory is closer to that title.

Also, a song few pepole dislike.

And this conversation here? Stop it, both Death Metal and Thrash is epic as hell. Lisen to bands like Fleshcrawl and Acid Drinkers. If you don't like what you hear then, there's something wrong with you.

New band, not bad for a debut album. Finally, Symphonic Black Metal from the US that doesn't completely suck.

[spoiler=Lyrics from the Youtube page]

I descend, endless labyrinth

Entrances closed, entrance unknown

Never again, will I see the face of the sun

Am I still of flesh and bone?

Creatures of the night shriek in darkness

What have I become, lost in purgatory

Covered in ashes from fallen angels

On the empty path into shadows from nowhere

Crawl towards the voice, the hallways speak

I cannot scream

In the heart of dark, I see ethereal gloom

In the presence of doom

There cannot be a pathway

To the pit in the darkest night

I see despair

Covered in ashes from fallen angels

On the empty path into shadows from nowhere

I descend, cryptic whispers

Malevolent ghosts, eternal thrones

Never again, shall I feel the warmth of day

Am I still of flesh and bone?

Creatures of the night shriek in darkness

What have I become, lost in purgatory

Covered in ashes from fallen angels

On the empty path into shadows from nowhere

Crawl towards the voice, the hallways speak

I cannot scream

In the heart of dark, I see ethereal gloom

In the presence of doom

There cannot be a pathway

To the pit in the darkest night

I see despair

Covered in ashes from fallen angels

On the empty path into shadows from nowhere

Why am I here?

They're watching me die

Crawl towards the voice, the hallways speak

I cannot scream

In the heart of dark, I see ethereal gloom

In the presence of doom

There cannot be a pathway

To the pit in the darkest night

I see despair

Covered in ashes from fallen angels

On the empty path into shadows from nowhere
