Earth Crisis, Cursed, and Fall Out Boy aint really the kind of combo that you hear of everyday. Upon listening to a bit of their stuff they sound pretty good but I doubt that theyll stick with me. Just some nice super noisy abrasive Hardcore for when I feel like it.

 

Been listening to loads of Thrice recently, specifically their later material

The Alchemy Index is a bit of a mixed bag true, but I still think it rules. Mostly Fire/Water, Air/Earth is the one with most of the meh material. Cursed have been on my list of things to listen to for a very long time.

Got Saosin's Translating the Name EP on amazon for $26, quite a steal considering it normally goes for $40+. Doesn't have the acoustic demos, but who needs those anyway?

The acoustic version of Seven Years though is really great. Cool that you were able to score it anyways.

2) Gemini Syndrome is gonna be doing a show about 2 hours from where I live the 30th and I am not going to miss it.

Deja Entendu is a really good album try out The Devil and God and Daisy those are both really great. Cool to hear that youve got some concerts on the way, I dont really get much around my way.

I've listened to The Devil and God and have it on my iTunes. The one thing will be if my dad approves the trip. It'd be two things in the same month. Luckily it's a Saturday, so hopefully he'll be okay with it.

I've listened to The Devil and God and have it on my iTunes. The one thing will be if my dad approves the trip. It'd be two things in the same month. Luckily it's a Saturday, so hopefully he'll be okay with it.

Then try out Daisy next, its quite the different album to say at the least. Your Favorite Weapon is good too but a bit immature. I hope he approves of the concert I remember a long time ago when I was 12 Sevendust, Korn, and Disturbed were playing and my mom was going to take me but my dad was upset about it cause he thought those were too inappropriate for my age and got at my mothers neck about it so I ended up not going, nowadays I dont care much about either bands but yeah it really sucked at the time.

Also, SO so so so happy that this finally showed up on discogs, snagged it as soon as it was listed for sale. I've had it in my wantlist for about a year so I hit that  buy button as soon as I got the email lol.

Also, SO so so so happy that this finally showed up on discogs, snagged it as soon as it was listed for sale. I've had it in my wantlist for about a year so I hit that buy button as soon as I got the email lol.

 

Funeral Diner forever.

 

Daisy is good but it doesnt have the emotion that TDAGARIM has. I dig the darker more experimental sound but its not nearly as consistent of a trip as TDAGARIM is. I can remember the album as a whole far better but with Daisy I only remember the tracks that stuck out to me the most.

 

Funeral Diner are good but I havent dug around them too much. I like what they do but they dont stick out to me as much as other screamo bands do.

 

I did end up picking up a copy of Magma while I was out with my papa in the Wal Mart while I was looking for new earbuds.

Checked out that track by The Old Dead Tree it was definitely good and ill get onto checking out more once im back at my dads with Internet, kind of hard to get more albums downloaded when youre sitting at a Tim Hortons with your phone and are staying over at your papas place where there is no Internet.

Daisy is my fave Brand New because of the inconsistency, makes for a really jarring listening experience and it the most interesting musical ideas in my opinion. TDAG kind of recycles the same ideas throughout the entirety of the album so I feel it to be more tiresome while still being great. 

 

Funeral Diner is one of my favorite screamo band, I think they do an awesome job of capturing both the full intensity and emotion that the genre is known for while having an atmosphere all their own. I think you'd really appreciate them if you gave them some more listens Moog.

 

 

As far as Entheos goes,  I'm not really digging them. I like some of their ideas and I like the minor electronic elements but the core part of their sound is kind of grating, and I'm not a fan of the production at all. I like that's it's pretty polished because it fits with the sci-fi theme, but it just feels kind of hollow. I might like it more if it had a thicker sound like the latest Wormed. My best dm is probably going to be Ulcerate when it drops sometime this year but Gorguts are definitely close. Runner ups will probably be Wormed, Zealotry, Chthe'ilist and Inverloch and Ghoulgotha. 

 

I'll check that stuff Cauchemar posted sometime, nothing is too heavy for me!!

I agree that Daisy has the most interesting ideas in Brand News discography but im just a sucker for the feels. Ill give Funeral Diner more listens considering that they are a good band but dont often stick with me.

 

I love Entheos mostly for the electronic elements but im fine with their production. I dont feel that they need a thicker sound because the hollowness fits fine when merged with the electronic parts, if they had used a production like Wormed then the electronics might become a bit buried at certain moments. The core part of their sound I can understand why it could be grating but I love it, makes the album feel all Techy without being wankery haven, not that ive ever had anything against wankery haven.

 

Love the new Wormed and Zealotry, never listened to new Inverloch or Ghoulgotha and I still havent bothered with anything by Cthe'ilist.

 

Suicide Silence are a sheet band but this album is an improvement once you get around Mitchs vocals being grating, which is pretty distracting at first.

 

And because Deathcore isnt what everyone here likes

Well thats a name I havent heard in a loooong time. I used to listen to Chevelle a lot growing up along with Deftones, P.O.D and others The Red is the song that I remember the most. Never listened to anything by them in a long time but once ive got Internet ill look into their newest.

Chevelle is very good for the enre they play in and the new album is very raw and just plain heavy. I'd check it and the last one if you're interested in what they've been up to, it's good stuff. 

 

 

Was listening to The Room Colored Charlatan earlier so

 

I'll give this album a spin because I dig the atmosphere, but I have a feeling it will be lost on me due to the vocals being kind of boring and the band relying too heavily on the standard deathcore tropes. I like the electronics though and the clean vocals are pretty good. 

 

Been listening to the latest Deftones some more.

Will get onto Chevelle tonight since im going back to my dads today and it would be nice to sit down and listen to a full album by them considering that I was a bit too young to care much about full albums at the age when I first got into them.

 

Primitives is definitely worth the listen, I get that it has that Deathcore feel and sound to it but id argue that the band doesnt exploit the tropes in a way thats generic and really try their hardest to differentiate themselves. They released their second album this year, I dont really remember much out of it but I remembered finding it to be very boring when I tried it out.

 

New Deftones is good but is probably one of their weakest records.

Yea I loved Construct as well but I hope there are some more riffs on the new one, I remember them talking about writing tons of riffs awile back but that was some time ago. I'm sure it'll be good regardless. 

 

I've been wondering the same thing about Chevelle, I dig them but I don't see em sticking with me for super long. 

 

And yea Blood Incantation is badass.
