Susie
I've never listened to Gorod but I do kind of dig Origin actually, I gave their newest album a listen not long ago. Definitely a step above the standard tech-death. Gorod are really good to me, definitely worth trying out, giving that new Origin record a try right now and it seems pretty cool. Ever heard of Spawn of Possession and Hour of Penance? Planning on trying those bands out today eventually.
~NOiSE~
Spawn of Possession is supposed to be top-tier when it comes to well-produced, wanky tech-death. I've listened to some of their stuff and I definitely see why they have that reputation but I haven't gotten super into it. I think I'll give them more listens since you brought them up. I don't know much about Hour of Penance, only heard the name.

Still have yet to try out other albums of theirs and Hour of Penance though. Decided to play up None So Vile since I havent listened to much Cryptopsy

Cool that youre able to get into them though, they seem to be a pretty well praised band and they do have a great sense of musicianship just in my opinion their sound feels a little bit thin and lacks the thickness of other bands that I prefer, from what ive heard at least. Theres also a chance that it just didnt click with me at first listen so ill try out more another day. Heard of Ourboros but ive never actually listened to them. Ill give them a try sometime. ~NOiSE~
Jamming that Ouroboros album now, will post my thoughts later. will also check Gorod and Hours of Penance. Also, Cryptopsy's first three albums are all awesome. Also, this album is brilliant and one of the most unique death metal albums I've ever listened to. Wish I'd heard it sooner. Hope you like Gorod, cant say too much on Hours of Penance though since I havent listened to them despite them being on my computer. That Lykathea Aflame album is one of the most brilliant and unique Death Metal albums ive heard and im not even one track through, absolutely insane riffs mixed in with the heavily underrated Egyptian theme. ~NOiSE~
Yea Lykathea Flame ruuuules. Listened to this album and it's great. Weird riffs and a sci- fi theme, two things that I love in a death metal album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NWAxz5FMkM
~NOiSE~
So Lykathea Aflame used to be called Appalling Spawn and they made another amazing brutal death metal record. Can these guys do any wrong? This one doesn't have the eastern vibe that Elvenefris does, but it does have great melodic moments between the brutal parts. Gonna check their demo too. ~NOiSE~
Nah man Ire Works is great, think it's underrated. I suppose I will have to check out those deathcore bands
Susie
Nah man Ire Works is great, think it's underrated. I suppose I will have to check out those deathcore bands I was kind of kidding, I think Ire Works gets a bit too much hate but I still agree with the consensus of it being by far their worst. The experimental tidbits sound way more forced than they were on Miss Machine. Yeah Slice the Cake and The Room Colored Charlatan are far different from the average Deathcore band. Theyre both very Progressive/Technical but unlike Rings of Saturn their sound has lots of texture in it and is not just pointless wankery with br00tal defcorez in it. Slice the Cake are more heavier while The Room Colored Charlatan are more melodic and atmospheric. Personally for me I enjoy Slice the Cakes entire discography though with The Room Colored Charlatan I really liked Primitive but their newest album was kind of boring to me, way more chugging and the Post-Rock influence felt quite bland. ~NOiSE~
Not really a fan of techy deathcore or Cannibal Corpse (find their music kinda boring in the grand scheme of death metal). Decided to listen to some dISEMBOWELMENT tonight, one of the best death/doom metal bands to ever grace the earth
Susie
I have respects towards Cannibal Corpse for being one of the longest running Death Metal bands and one of the first to popularize it but I really dont think that musically theyre really interesting and their image bothers me a lot. I get that grotesqueness is a part of Death Metal but when youre getting to the point of where youre going on about shoving a knife up a womens genitalia and ejaculating blood on dead bodies I think that certainly passes the limit a little bit too much. diSEMBOWELED though are always a yes. Susie
Shame that the new Norma Jean song got deleted, only could listen to it once, it did absolutely funking rule though. Been mostly listening to lots of Drum n Bass recently (Machine Code, Current Value, early Noisia, T Power, Konflict, among others) so I guess ill just post the one Metal band that ive jammed to recently. Fit For An Autopsy or as I like to call them Gojira with breakdowns/Gojiracore band (Still prefer Gojira though).
