Susie
Theres actually been a lot of interesting Technical death metal come out this year :) Wormed - Krighsu (Technical Brutal Death Metal) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35-yrol1TYM Listen to the full thing here: https://wormed.bandcamp.com/album/krighsu Deviant Process - Paroxysm (Technical Death Metal/Progressive Metal) Listen to the full thing here: https://deviantprocess.bandcamp.com/album/paroxysm Chthe'ilist - Le Dernier Crepuscule (Technical Death/Doom Metal) Listen to the full thing here: https://profoundlorerecords.bandcamp.com/album/le-dernier-cr-puscule Obscura - Arkoasis (Technical Death Metal/Progressive Metal) Listen to the full thing here: https://obscura.bandcamp.com/album/akr-asisWe talked about the newest Wormed a while back, its quite the solid record. Heard of Chthe'ilist before but never bothered with them, havent heard of Deviant Process before and ive never listened to a full album by Obscura but from what ive heard out of their songs they seem pretty underwhelming. ~NOiSE~
I'm baaaack after a few days. Been kinda busy. Tbh I've been listening to a lot of The Devil Wears Prada the last few days. Guess I still dig them. Also, Wormed rules and I've been digging the new album since it came out. Never listened to Deviant Process but I'll check them out. I own that Cthe'ilist album, pretty rad stuff even though they rip off Demilich really hard. I think Obscura is boring (except in the case of the Gorguts album titled Obscura, one of the best tech-death albums of all time). New Thrice track is kinda weird, sounds like Seether or something. Hope the new album is good.

I used to listen to them when I was in Elementary school, Fine Again was my jam back then, not so much now. To me the new Thrice track is much more like a heavier Major/Minor, I love what theyre going for on the new track and I doubt that Thrice will let me down ever. Meshuggah + Melodeath...why not? ~NOiSE~
Dear Love has always been the one I enjoy the most actually. It has the most variety and a cool atmosphere that I haven't really heard on a metalcore record. I used to dig Threat Signal but not so much now. Susie
Dead Throne is rad and 8:18 is pretty good but Dear Love still bes Misery Signals is awesoooome Yeah I had the Failsafe stuck in my head so I wanted to post it, its awesome like every single other track by them, wish that my copy of Mirrors didnt skip on that track, its my favorite Misery Signals song. funk you cheap ass Thrift Store CDs. Never was a fan of Trivium but this album really gets me and ive been listening to it a lot again recently. The only other album that I really like by them is Ascendancy though its inferior to this one. Ember to Inferno isnt bad either but it doesnt get me like In Waves and Ascendancy do. Ill probably ive all three of them a listen sometime this week.
Metalhead Dragon
(except in the case of the Gorguts album titled Obscura, one of the best tech-death albums of all time).I agree, though I can say that about Chthe'ilists new album and also Deviant Process' new album too. Wormed is almost to that level though. Chthe'ilist just really reminds me of Scar Sighted from last year in the dark sense, it just presents this dark tone amongst this groove. I guess there is some other doomy stuff thats extremely techncial that beats it in terms of unpredictability (Confessor easily) but the new Chthe'ilist is just rad. Deviant Process' first attempt was pretty weak, but their new album is just so damn proficient, that songwriting is some next level stuff. I really dont like this band anymore, I used to like stuff like Dez Moines, and quite a few things from Plagues, but now, I just really dont care for them anymore. It feels more like a tribute than a ripoff though, and I enjoy the album quite a lot. I'll check Deviant Process soon! I only recently got back into The Devil Wears Prada, they're not the type of band I'd normally dig but they're much better than most of their peers. Their first albums is pretty different than most of their other stuff. Also should mention that the new Howls of Ebb is streaming on the I, Voidhanger Records bandcamp. http://i-voidhangerrecords.bandcamp.com/album/cursus-impasse-the-pendlomic-vows

And I like listening to Ascendancy and Ember to Inferno because they were a bit more special at their time. Everything else theyve done is boring and mediocre in my opinion. Also that Howls of Ebb link is broken.

Metalhead Dragon
I just found some amazing symphonic black metal from... Oregon?! What! Anyways these synths are next level!!! In black metal terms this is pretty dang technical, lots of syncopated riffs. That section from 1:40-2:35 is just magnificent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE_NlkA67bI I should warn if you check out the album it has a few NSBM snippets in there, even on the album cover, be warned if you dont like that kind of stuff. The rest of it is mostly romantic/pagan.

Susie
Martin Henrikson quit Dark Tranquillity :( Oh funk, will the band be able to go on without him or is this a loss that will be too detrimental?
~NOiSE~
Well they're recording the new album now so not detrimental to this album at least. But seeing as he's been playing guitar for the band since the beginning, it's hard to say how his leaving will affect future releases. Then again he's hardly the only songwriter. The keyboardist and drummer wrote a good portion of the new album from what I understand, and some fresh blood could be good. btw I'll check those bands you posted. And been jamming Deftones. Thats all good to hear, was doubting that it would have been that big of a deal but I just thought id ask just in case. Decode the Design have so far only released 3 songs but are currently still working on their debut full length, theyre a bit immature in the vocal department but still catchy and have some nicely put together Cyber Metal instrumentation, synths are a bit more "Trance-y" though thats okay with me. Raunchy are more mature than Decode the Design but I wouldnt compare them too much since DtD are more on the Cyber Metal side of Melodeath with bands like Sybreed and Breach the Void. whereas Raunchy are more Melodeath with a bit of Industrial. Wasteland Discotheque is the most popular Raunchy release but I prefer Confusion Bay, Death Pop Romance isnt bad either but not as good as those two and I cant comment on the rest of their discography. Chino Moreno is god.
~NOiSE~
Chino Moreno is god. Will try to check today if I can. Despite what I said about the new Deftones tracks (which have grown on me, especially Prayers/Triangles), I'm really looking forward to the new album and will most likely be picking it up on Friday. I hope it's better than Koi No Yokan, though I still like that one a lot.
