Susie
Personally I dont mind the fact that all there is to Crimson Massacre is their playing since it helps give the album a bit of a surreal atmosphere, its fun to listen to due to how completely unpredictable it is. I am unable to get this song off my mind
Dismal Euphony
Personally I dont mind the fact that all there is to Crimson Massacre is their playing since it helps give the album a bit of a surreal atmosphere, its fun to listen to due to how completely unpredictable it is. I agree that the over-technicality of the playing creates a bit of a jumbled, surreal mood, and the unpredictability of the album is what originally attracted me to it, but isn't an album essentially unpredictable only once? After that first listen when you're like "holy sheet" it loses me.

Susie
listening to this nowDaybreaker is a good album though Hollow Crown is even better, Ruin and Nightmares are also good. The Here and Now was kinda meh and Lost Forever//Lost Together is pretty bad. Im on a Prog binge right now

~NOiSE~
Im one of the few people who prefers Decompositions over As the Roots Undo. It was my first album by them and it took me a long time to listen to their first so when I finally did I was too used to the style on Decompositions. I like Decompositions for being heavier, cleaner and more calculated, but As the Roots Undo beats in in pretty much every other category for me. The songs are unpredictable and the technicality is definitely a marvel in the genre. The post-rock builds into furious climaxes of of blistering musicianship never fail to floor me, and the vocal trade-offs are just so well done. It's a package of raw emotion fueled by youthful energy that I don't think they'll be able to capture again, but I still will enjoy whatever else they decide to put out. Jammed these bonus tracks from the Japanese edition of the Boris album Noise today. Good stuff, might have to get that version. Oh yea, and this album rules as well. Also picked up their collab with Merzbow, Sun Baked Snow Cave, for $4 today. Can't wait to listen.

Though I still want some criticism since we will be recording very soon.

I can agree with what youre saying but for me Decompositions hits me harder since it had a way bigger impact on me upon my first listen. At the time I listened to As the Roots Undo I was already much more well dived into screamo so I had already heard bands like City of Caterpillar, Envy, The Saddest Landscape, and Sed Non Satiata so it didnt blow me away as hard as it did for other people. Havent listened to Praparat though its been a while since ive visited Boris territory. Sun Baked Snow Cave is good though a bit too dragged out to make it more listenable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlXYBhZUdx0 My band, we have fixed a lot of stuff and are going to a better producer this weekend.. Clean vocals sound forced and a little out of place and certain lyrics sounded randomly emphasized during the sung passages. Some decent guitar riffs here and there, but the breakdown begs for more variation. Try changing up the note patterns maybe? I don't mean to sound harsh, but the entire thing sounded a little clumsy. The talent is there, but perhaps a little polishing is in order. Best of luck to you guys.

Kinda surprised that youre not that into Mithras, Beyond the Worlds Veil is a pretty weird Death Metal album with a lot of weird sci-fi styled surreal Ambient sections Weve already milked the funk out of Converge but it still doesnt feel close to enough. Moving Mountains, their debut would be a masterpiece if it werent for the annoying horns, still a great piece of Post-Rock Emo

I like Moving Mountains a fair bit theyre like Thrice mixed with The Appleseed Cast, which is a cool thing. Personally upon further listening to them Ive found that I like Waves better than Pneuma. Never heard of Barrow but upon looking them up they seem to be a band that Id like I'll check them soon! ~NOiSE~
I sadly don't have my Fear Before albums anymore, ended up selling them in a time of monetary need. Can still listen to them on Spotify whenever though. Frameworks is pretty cool from what I remember but I'll have to revisit them. Love that art. This has become one of my favorite envy tracks, love the singing in the beginning.
