Hey that new Megadeth album is out. Not really a huge fan of the band (though Rust In Peace is obviously a classic thrash album) so I'm not sure I'll be checking it out.

Ampere - Short but sweet.

That's good because everyone seemed to hate the one couple!

You a fan of Voivod or Coroner? When it comes to technical/prog-thrash metal, I would look no further than these two bands.

Daitro rules but don't forget Sed Non Satiata.

Also Moog I think you will like this if you haven't heard it already.

Of course I wont forget Sed Non Satiata. Envy, Daitro, Sed Non Satiata, Heaven In Her Arms, Raein, La Quiete, Killie so many good bands.

I think ive heard of Sore Eyelids but Ive never bothered with trying them out

I forgot this album existed.

Spin-kicking your mom at church.

Never got into Mors but ill try out Knocked Loose, what are they like?

Pretty much a modern, fast. heavy hardcore band. The kind of band you listen to when you're really pissed and want to throw small children at trees.

Anyone given Dream Theater's new album a spin?

Here's the single from it for anyone who hasn't heard it:

Used to be a Dream Theater fanboy though I lost interest in them a while ago, glad to see that theyre still going after all these years but I doubt ill ever jump aboard their train anytime soon.

I prefer this when it comes down to Prog stuff

Kidcrash is still amazing, they've quickly become one of my favorite emo bands.

AND I STILL HAVENT LISTENED TO THEM YET :D

Though I am about to get into Coroner

Moog that gif is very lewd and inappropriate and arousing

THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING

Seriously the comments alone are gold

This might be my favorite album of the year so far. So brutal. So good.

Also, new Wildernessking just dropped a few days ago. I've bought it already, but only listened to snippets of it at work. Sounds incredible, which doesn't come as a surprise.

Aint it a little bit too soon to be calling AOTY nominations?

Listening to this

I realize that only a month in, it's a bit soon... hence the "so far" bit I added. :-P I've listened to quite a few 2016 releases and that's at the top of what I have heard at this point.

The only 2016 release ive gone through so far is the final Showbread album. Cthe'ilist sound interesting though, after doing a search by them noticed that theyre compared to Demilich.

They're part of this reincarnation of a more old school, dark brooding death metal sound. I've been in love with it lately.

Been listening to this album a ton too since it came out at the end of 2015. Love it.

So theyre kind of among the same lengths as bands like Horrendous, Obliteration and Cruciamentum? In the sense that theyre all New Wave OSDM.

Im into some Doomy Death Metal so im all aboard for that.

I've been listening to a lot of the new wave OSDM because generally a lot of it seems darker and murkier than most actual old school death metal. Something about those dirty production values and abysmally reverberated vocals just gets my blood pumping.

And, as a fun fact, Triumvir Foul consists of three members, two of which are members of Ash Borer.

I like newer OSDM more as well too, I just feel that bands are taking it into some really crazy directions that just rule like Morbus Chrons Sweven.

Ash Borer are great but I havent been listening to them recently. When it comes down to Black Metal I mostly go for Deathspell Omega, Blut Aus Nord, Dodheimsgard, and a few others.

I prefered Sleepers in the Rift over Sweven, honestly.

My black metal tastes vary from raw BM like Peste Noire to more atmospheric stuff like Panopticon and Skagos.
