~NOiSE~
aw hell yeah! i love me some the black mages. i love their rendition of otherworld especially, just don't have it bookmarked. :( I actually much prefer the original version of Otherworld tbh, I don't really like it when they put vocals in their songs at all haha. ~NOiSE~
i prefer the original too, but i'm just talking in terms of the black mages songs. I get you. I just didn't really like the choice of vocalist they used for the BM version, nor did I like the opera singer they used for the Zanakand rendition. Just made it a bit too cheesy for my taste. I also didn't enjoy the third album as much as the first two, but overall they've done awesome stuff.
Susie
I always felt that Metal covers of video games, theme songs and such are kind of just a cliché that doesnt sit with me, probably because I rarely enjoy soundtracks outside of what their from (with some exceptions) Random unrelated songs

I think my top picks for screamo are Jeromes Dream, Envy and Daitro. Oh man, been a long time since I put my copy of Panopticon on for a spin, I cant decide if that one or In the Absence of Truth is my favorite. Oceanic and Panopticon are both the best for me, though In the Absence of Truth is arguably just as good. Going to sleep for real now, sleep well my furry friend. Going to sleep for real now, sleep well my furry friend. Oceanic used to be my favorite buy now ive preferred Panopticon and In the Absence. Panopticon to me has more climax in its build ups and In the Absence I feel was the perfect ender for ISIS as it felt like the Proggy sound of Wavering Radiant being mixed in with the heavy atmosphere of Panopticon, not to say that WR didnt have any atmosphere in it, it just wasnt as great, still also a good album. Id go to sleep (which I should) but im too occupied with watching Paranoia Agent

I listened to some Neurosis and Knut today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzZcr2UnFs4 I just realized that now, hah. Neurosis and Knut are cool, havent listened to either in a long time though. I prefer Neurosis out of the two especially Times of Grace and The Eye of Every Storm. Northlane really stepped up their game with this album, been listening to it all day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC2uY8Rru2M
~NOiSE~
Nothlane is better than I expected. Not a huge fan of the clean vocals and a lot of the songs feel a bit too similar, but I dig the aesthetic. Will give it some more listens. Jamming Darkthrone's rad first album today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gzH0pl0oLI

Jamming Darkthrone's rad first album today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gzH0pl0oLII never got too big onto their previous stuff as I felt that they were too chuggy at moments but the new album downplays the chugging in favour of the atmospheric sound. In my opinion he vocalist they got on Node is much better than their old vocalist. I was surprised too when I first listened to it, its by far one of my favorite albums of 2015. I lost interest in Darkthrone a long time ago and probably wont get back into them.

Ive never heard of Asphyx and I think youve told me about Keelhaul before but ive never listened to them Asphyx is some pretty rad OSDM/doom metal, and Keelhaul is kind of prog/metalcore but more along the lines of 90s mathcore. Looks like I'll actually be buying those tomorrow because a lot of stores are closed today ;_;
