Susie
I'm actually not much into tech death at all. When it comes to death metal, I'm more into the old-school sound and stuff that's real low-end heavy.I thought you were into some of that stuff. Personally for me id take stuff like Decapitated, Ulcerate, Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Timeghoul, Cynic, Between the Buried and Me, Gojira, and the last four Death albums over the more straight up material. I also prefer New Wave OSDM over trve OSDM not to speak low of the classics but I just find Horrendous, Morbus Chron, Ghoulgotha, and Cruciamentum to be more interesting over them. Dismal Euphony
I'm a fan of Decapitated and Cryptopsy and have been for probably 10 years now. Just as of lately, I like the really crushing death metal. I mostly stick to atmospheric black metal these days though, when I do listen to metal. I try not to stick to one specific style of Metal and diversify as much as possible.

But I tend to be jumpy with what Metal I listen to, at one moment I could be listening to Deftones but then the next Im on Converge and then I get going to Flourishing to top it off before heading back over to Project 86. ~NOiSE~
Decapitated and Cryptospy are similar in that they both peaked with their first two albums (though Whisper Supremacy is badass as well). I haven't been into Soilwork in a long time but apparently they decided to get really good again.

The Ride Majestic is a great album, better than The Living Infinite. Was expecting the opposite since it took them less than a year to pump it out. I don't think anything Decapitated has done is bad but they're just a little too chug-heavy for my liking nowadays, I prefer the more technical style of their first two albums (Winds of Creation is the best though) The Living Infinite is great too but Soilwork pretty much took all of their best ideas and put them into one concise sitting. I really like it.

I really like it.I dont mind the chug heavy stuff they have going on since theres still more to it than just the chugging though ill admit that Blood Mantra was a bit weaker as it just felt like a rehash of their previous album. My only issue with The Living Infinite was how long it was, but it still is among one of my personal favorites.

Like they melded their old style with a heavy dose of Meshuggah or something. Forgot to add this to my 2015 faves, feels like it came out so long ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZ0RxUVYQE

Thats probably why I like it so much since Im a Meshuggah fan. Not the hugest fan of Leviathan but Scar Sighted was a good release. Ever tried out Decoder? Band thats formed from ex-members of Oceana and Of Machines that sounds like a lighter version of Oceana but still just about as good as Oceana are. They also had changed their name to Lead Hands right before they split up and only had made one album
