From what ive heard out of the album it seems like that

Currently listening to this

Oh man Mortal Treason was my first metal band. I guess they're considered deathcore but they did the genre some serious justice with that album. I didn't care for the first one so much though.

My first Metal band was Deftones when I borrowed my dads copy of Around the Fur and blasted it everyday on my Walkman. Hah good times.

Im not a fan of Mortal Treasons first album either but I love that second one even if it is Deathcore.

Shoot, still haven't listened to that yet. I'll have to check it tomorrow. But in the meantime...

Timeghoul are glorious

The new drummer and bassist are members of Glass Cloud and At The Drive-In announced 2016 tour dates.

Sweet to hear an At the Drive-In member joining up with Glassjaw. I tried out Glass Cloud a while ago and I couldnt stand them so im indifferent on one of their members joining up.

Never listen to Glass Cloud myself but both the drummer and the bassist used to play in a Zoa cover band around New York.

I found Glass Cloud too chuggy for my tastes, theyre like a djent Metalcore band. Also never heard of Zoa, unless youre referring to ZAO.

Oh well that's weird haha. I never really understood the point of cover bands, I don't care to see anyone but the band itself play their music.

Im fine with cover bands that do more variety but I never understood the idea behind a cover band that just covers one bands songs

Yay Modern Melodeath

Dark Aaaaaaage, they're pretty rad and catchy. They definitely shine during the choruses.

Read a few reviews shitting on this album, though upon checking it out I found that's rad. I'm digging this hard, guess people just don't understand it very well.

Yeah Dark Age are climbing up as one of my fav Melodeath bands, really wish that there were other Melodeath bands that can pull of that modern sound well since the bands that can actually do it rule hard at it.

Just starting up that Ghoulgotha album and I have no idea what those reviewers are talking about, the album sounds amazing, slow sludgy, heavy, melodic and even catchy at parts.

Its really more my style of Death Metal, id place it amongst some of my top favorites of this year, probably gonna have to think up of a top 10 (or more) list soon for this year.

May as well post another favorite of mine from this year

Yea that Loma Prieta album rules as well. Some of my other faves are Cruciamentum, Horrendous, Ethereal Shroud, Leviathan, No Devotion, and mewithoutYou. Of course there are more but yea haha.

So far for me:

Haste the Day - Coward

Dark Sermon - The Oracle

Make Them Suffer - Old Souls

Senses Fail - Pull the Thorns From Your Heart

Ghoulgotha - The Deathmass Cloak

Loma Prieta - Self Portrait

mewithoutYou - Pale Horses

Cruciamentum - Charnel Passages

Abigail Williams - The Accuser

No Devotion - Permanence

Of course theres more that I like but this is quite possibly what my top 10 would look like out of order (save for the first two), will listen to the new Horrendous over Christmas Break.

This band has absolutely no substance in their music, their sound is just a watered down Soilwork/In Flames and theyre formed by 20-30 year olds who dress up like cringeworthy 12 year old edgelords but I cant help how catchy and fun their first two albums are

Yeah I get why people arent very fond of them, I cant even watch any of their music videos without cringing. Still the music is fun and theres even a few pretty heavy moments (heavy from their standards) on those albums especially the first one. Their third album was okay but the softer Alt rock songs detract a lot of enjoyment and a lot of the choruses are boring, After that they just went all goofy in their sound and decided it would be fun to forget what very little they payed attention to in "Songwriting 101", but hey at least they gave it their all, and by all I mean -10% effort was put in.

Never heard of Wormed but ill give them a try
