That sucks about moving dude, I know you said you've moved a lot and I can't imagine what moving from place to place all the time must be like :(

Reminds me of this song.

I gotta say that I dig all of At the Gates' work but since I orefer OSDM in general, TRIOSIO sits really well with me. It's really weird compared to the rest of their work but that's why I like it haha.

Only Japanese band I've been jamming lately is Dir en grey but that's not unusual for me.

Honestly it really gets to a point where you just dont care about being moved, its like "oh this again".

In Exile is one of my favorite Thrice songs.

Ive been listening to J-Metal stuff a lot since Ive always been meaning to dig deeper into it.

This may just be my last post for a few days since weve gotta do some work up on the new house were moving into

So have some things ive listened to that isnt J-Metal.

Creepmime - Chiaroscuro

funking heavenly...or hellish I guess since this really isnt what id imagine be playing in heaven, but still a damn great album.

All That Remains - For We Are Many

I wasnt very sure how to feel going into this album, Overcome was bad and the few songs I had heard didnt impress me but surprisingly I was satisfied with this album, its a step up from the mediocrity of Overcome for sure since some of the riffs play more akin to their The Fall of Ideals style, still not that great but still enjoyable.

Bring Me the Horizon - Suicide Season

Got curious about this since I really like There Is A Hell and thought that Sempiternal had its moments. Its not as bad as I thought it would be but it still was nothing more than okay. But at least The Sadness Will Never End is a really sick track, partially because of Sam Carter being a guest vocalist and mostly because it sounds closer to what There Is A Hell was like. Terrible lyrics through the whole album though.

I Killed the Prom Queen - Music For the Recently Deceased

Standard Melodeath-core band, if youre in the right mood for it then its a pretty nice listen but if youre not then its painfully boring.

Decapitated - The Negation

Really great, up there with Winds of Creation, Organic Hallucinosis and Carnival Is Forever.

And also this

The new Abigail Williams album rules, can't believe how good these guys got. Like every album of theirs, it's completely different from anything else they done, but like their last Becoming, it's really good.

Never listened to anything by Abigail Williams but the first track has made me want to hear the rest. Will get onto it along with Heaven Shall Burn and Deathgaze tomorrow since last.fm wont shut up about either of them.

Was listening to this earlier

Never listened to Deathgaze. Heaven Shall Burn isn't really my thing but they seem to have a decent reputation.

Abigail Williams started out lame but their last two albums are awesome, you would dig them for sure. Becoming sounds like Wolves In the Throne Room.

Good sh.t,Good find i freaking this band and Coral il check them out :D

Prepare to headbang you have been warned.

This one it feels so classic :D

I'll check that Skull Fist band when I get the chance.

Just ordered these two albums, can't wait to get them.

Which NIN albums did you listen to? Nobody can deny Trent Reznor being a musical god, he actually was my idol growing up.

Deathgaze are a cool Japanese Thrash-y/Melodeath-ish Metalcore band, only heard a few tracks by them but they seem to be not that bad. With Heaven Shall Burn ive only listened to the song Endzeit and it seemed okay, vocals kind of made me think of ZAO and Extol but the instrumentals were more like a rawer less melodic Unearth.

Ill look into Abigail Williams recent work soon.

Obliteration are great but ive only heard Black Death Horizon

Will check stuff

You'll like Obliteration's old stuff, Nekropsalms is more like BDH with a psychedelic, doomy OSDM vibe but Perpetual Decay is much more of a raw death metal album. They both rule in any case.

And yes, check Abigail Williams.

Which stuff will you look into? Im right now listening to Genocide and Mass Murder by Deathgaze.

Was listening to this in class today

All Shall Perish and Deathgaze. Only got to All Shall Perish today though, they aren't really my thing, I'm not really into the melodeath-styled metalcore these days.

All Shall Perish? I thought they were Deathcore unless youre confusing them for Heaven Shall Burn. Funny since I only listened to Deathgaze, the album I heard was okay but I listened to some of their tracks from other albums and found those to be a bit better.

Melodeath-styled Metalcore is a hit or miss with me.

Oh what the hell

Yea I got All Shall Perish mixed up with Heaven Shall Burn somehow...whoops. Well I'll get onto those bands at some point.

By the way, this is rad. Proggy, sludgy OSDM.

Full album is on their bandcamp.

Ad Nauseam release is one of my favorite albums of this year, Mitochondrion are really good but not something that I can listen to on a day to day basis.

I know im the only one who cares about this style of mainstream Melodeath but the new Soilwork has some good jams on it

Still not as great as their earlier albums though

I could jam murky death metal all day. I listened to Abyssal too, their new album rules.

Nah man Soilwork's latest is pretty cool, I just get bored after a bit. I really dig the artwork.

Got my Spectral Lore albums today, finally. Now I'm just waiting on my Leviathan album and Obliteration albums.

Oh trust me I like the new Soilwork album but it doesnt live up to my love for Figure Number Five and Stabbing the Drama.

I still havent listened to a full Spectral Lore album but theyre still cool

Oh dang I thought you meant like their first three albums, I actually don't really like the ones you mentioned. Chainheart Machine and A Predator's Portrait are pretty rad though.

If you listen to any Spectral Lore album, make it III. It's an hour and a half long but every minute is perfect. Definitely one of the best black metal albums I've heard.

Yeah a lot of older fans didnt like Figure Number Five though I liked it a lot, Light the Torch was the song that introduced me to Soilwork so I guess im a bit biased with that one. Stabbing the Drama got fans back on board with their stuff but I can understand why you wouldnt care for it very much. I love their first three albums too but I have a special place with Figure Number Five and Stabbing the Drama.

Ill keep that in mind for Spectral Lore

I don't hate them but they're definitely Soilwork's most commercial albums, they just don't do anything for me. I miss Strid's old vocal style, I liked the high screams a lot more than what he does now.

Just listened to both of these. Holy sheet they rule.

Understandable, though for me those were the first two albums I had listened to by Soilwork and then I had tried out The Living Infinite and Steelbath Suicide, so I guess im more tuned to their commercial stuff. I agree though that Speeds vocal style was better at higher pitch, though in general I tend to prefer higher pitched vocalists.

I love the artwork to both of those albums
