currently im finishing up The Art of Balance and after that im gonna look into Back Breaker and Blood in the Gears by The Showdown (dangerous territory i know but im going in), so yeah might as well leave my favorite song off of The Art of Balance

the only reason why i havent listened to Showbread in a while is because cant find anything of theirs on the internet, ugh i wanted to go to the CD store with my money and get other stuff but i guess ill have to put Showbread first, will probably get No Sir Nihilism Is Not Practical and Anorexia/Nervosa since those are my favorite albums by them.

ive tried Daughters before but i never could get into them, their vocals i found annoying but that was a long while ago. i have The Negation on my computer but i have yet to listen to it. never knew that TDEP had a self-titled EP, been meaning to try out Mouth of the Architect and Drowningman but i have yet to bother with either, and as for Today Is the Day ive only listened to Willpower once, it was enjoyable but i dont remember anything about it other than it was Noise Rock / Metalcore.

You should check early Daughters, it's more like a more grind-y The Number Twelve Looks Like You. And Today Is the Day is like Maudlin of the Well meets Converge. No horns that I've heard though, thank God.

ill probably try out Daughters again and see if they do anything for me. damn Today Is the Day sound like theyre cooler than i remember. eh i was sort of into maudlin of the Well but their sound grew gimmicky sounding very quickly and just got annoying to listen to.

also i finished up The End of Heartache, it was definitely better back when i was 12, still not as boring as i find Atreyu and BFMV to be nowadays. gonna download Today Is the Day to wash out that mainstream Metalcore in my head.

Listen to Sadness Will Prevail, it's my first venture into the band and it's definitely something.

im actually into it right now, also downloaded Willpower and Temple of the Sun. really love Sadness Will Prevail so far its really sick Noise Rock/Metalcore, so insane.

Yea I read that stuff about Cynic, pretty weird. It's hard to say what's going to happen now but I thought their last album was pretty bad anyway. Periphery's last output was better than anything before but I still don't dig it that much.

I've been jamming some Nile though.

Kindly Bent To Free Us didnt really lean me either way, i dont hate it but i dont really bother listening to it. Alpha and Omega was quite enjoyable for me though i doubt ill listen to it a whole lot, the title track from Alpha was probably my favorite track off of the album.

ive been meaning to give Nile another chance since i really love their Ancient Egypt theme, i remember wanting to be an archaeologist and having an Egyptian themed room at my dads when i was younger, i also had a whole ton of books on Egypt that i pretty much read everyday of my life.

thats actually my favorite out of the two songs that i posted, theyre both from a new double album that Periphery put out early this year. just go look up Juggernaut:Alpha and Juggernaut:Omega, i cant guarantee that everyone would like them but i think theyre both okay. try out Peripherys earlier material at your own risk though. Periphery II was an eh album try it if you wanna but i wont recommend it, their first album though...dont even poke it with a 10 foot stick. Juggernaut: Alpha and Omega is really the only thing by the band that i can actually tolerate sitting through. weird though that they wouldnt have the first track available in your country, maybe it just might be an error.

also Nile are really great, listened to In their Darkened Shrines, Annihilation of the Wicked, At the Gate of Seth and im currently listening to What Should Not Be Unearthed. all solid albums.

going from Periphery to Nile is quite the drastic jump lol. Nile are a Tech Death band with an Ancient Egypt theme, cant go wrong with that, theyre also my 600th band in my last.fm library now, yaaaay.

You'll dig Nile then so long as you can stand the music, which I think you could. I'm not the biggest Nile fan but they are tight as hell musicians. Check Annihilation of the Wicked first.

Bought some more Today Is the Day.

Today Is the Day are good but ive only heard Willpower and the first disc of Sadness Will Prevail. personally i love Nile, mostly because i grew up being obsessed with Ancient Egypt and plus im a much bigger fan of Death Metal than i was when i first gave Nile a shot so now theyve immensely grown on me, not even too sure which album id say is my favorite of theirs though Annihilation of the Wicked is definitely a great one of theirs.

some AoF that i was jamming to

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRkWNqWWmpc

starting up Shadows are Security by As I Lay Dying and i also downloaded Awakened

I will say that I prefer everything Nile has done before Ithyphallic (not sure why they decided to name an album after the Egyptian god of dicks or whatever but it is what it is). In Their Darkened Shrines is pretty rad.

Sadness Will Prevail is a weird one, now that I've heard more it's definitely not the first I'd recommend by Today Is the Day. If you liked it though, I'd check out their other work as well.

Alexisonfire rules but I'm not sure if I'll bother with As I Lay Dying again. They've done some good stuff but nothing that keeps my interest.

theyre not the most interesting as ive noticed that Shadows Are Security hasnt clicked with me as much as An Ocean Between Us and The Powerless Rise have, but honestly theyre one of the few non-boring Metalcore bands from my childhood so i feel as if that factor alone makes them worth a few more listens, of course theres plenty of better bands but that doesnt stop me from listening to them.

AoF is best childhood band, seriously theyre the only Post-Hardcore band from when i was younger that i can still listen to on a regular basis.

Becoming the Archetype is my jam. Shame they pretty much disbanded.

Blindly bought a Veil of Maya record the other day. Not my favorite style, but I can still appreciate/enjoy some CHUGCHUGWIDDLYWIDDLY type stuff sometimes.

BtA havent split up yet but theyve pretty much become a Deathcore band. their first two albums were pretty much them at their best though Dichotomy isnt too bad.

cant say that im into Veil of Maya. if youre still really in the mood for that kind of stuff then this is one of the few albums that i dont mind from that sort of style.

They're still recording but they have pretty much none of the original members so I figure what's the point.

And yeah Born of Osiris is definitely up my alley.
