Aww, I'm sorry :( *hugs*

Glad you dug Aevangelist, they kind of blew my mind when I first listened the other day. Their latest album Writhes In the Murk is very good as well, but I haven't listened to their first album.

Nice! That Kinison album is a lot of fun. Living Sacrifice is hit or miss for me but they've done some good stuff.

Aevangelist definitely blew my mind, it feels like everything that i like in Death Metal. one of the heaviest bands if not the heaviest band that i love.

yeah its really nice to finally have The Kinison with me considering that theyre impossible to find. personally i really like Living Sacrifice, the only stuff ive heard from them and never got into was their earlier Thrash stuff

Agreed, they're really rad. I plan on getting them soon.

Have you heard The Kinison's EP Mortgage Is Bank? It's very good too.

I never got into War of Ages that much, even back in the day I didn't find much interesting about them.

Mortal Treason's Sunrise Over a Sea of Blood is a really good album, it's a good mix of death metal, melodeath and metalcore. And it manages to pull of all of those styles without sounding cheesy at all.

For Shadows Fall, check out The Art of Balance, then The War Within. Good thrash/metalcore. Their first album Of One Blood featured the All That Remains vocalist.

I don't really know anything about The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, except prog/grind maybe? I dunno haha

i actually remembered trying out a few tracks by War of Ages a while ago but i didnt really like them much either, i thought since they were appearing in my recommendations then theyd be worth checked out...i guess not. i will try out Mortal Treason and i did listen to Shadows Fall earlier today there was nothing bad about them but i dont think i was in the mood for their style at the moment. Tony Danza are a really sick Mathcore band, i listened to Danza III earlier today definitely try it out when you get the time to.

I will give them a go soon. I just found this group and they're pretty great. I think you'll like them a lot.

This first video is the first two tracks on the album. Second video is the third track.

i listened to that first video and im hooked, i will check out tomorrow. i really friggin adore this sort of really raw Proggy Post-Hardcore.

I figured you would like them. They're pretty mathcore to me, it's like Deftones meets Botch.

yeah Mathcore is fair to say too but i find that they give me more of a Hot Cross/The Fall of Troy feel.

I downloaded the album. There's an EP as well but I can't find it anywhere, might just buy it when I can.

They've got some Mr. Bungle going on too.

yeah i listened to it earlier its totally got some Mike Patton going on in those vocals, which is really cool

call me a heretic but Projector is now officially my favorite Dark Tranquillity album

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_3JVIBgMUw

also that Mortal Treason album was sick

Nah, I've heard people say that before, though not many. My favorite is probably The Mind's I, I think it's pretty underrated.

Nice, that's a good one and one of the first I ever got. To be honest though I've never given their first album a full listen. I know it's pretty different though, way more "core".

gonna try to get these. i recently downloaded Darkest Hour's The Mark of Judas remastered and that was pretty good too. Unfortunately, there isn't a video for it, but there is one for the original

The Mark of Judas is pretty sick though Deliver Us will always be Darkest Hour at their best along with Undoing Ruin in a close second.

id imagine you being a fan of Dark Tranquillity and Mortal Treason also i just listened to this and i think youd be into it

New Deafheaven track premiered a few days ago, I'm really excited for this album. It's supposed to be less focused on the spaciness/shoegaze approach of Sunbather and more influenced by 90s alt-rock, and I think the change will be a good one. Of course, they still sound like Deafheaven.

They also said it has more thrash/metal influence as well, so we'll hear more sick riffs. It should rule. I also really like the artwork, nice to see some black haha.

Yea man, Decapitated were monster musicians for their age, especially the drummer. He is sadly no longer alive, however. The band was in a serious car accident, the drummer was killed and I believe another member suffered permanent brain damage and couldn't play anymore.

i doubt that Deafheaven would put out something that id hate. never heard of that car crash, man thats really sad i hope the other band member who got brain damage still has a half decent life, ive heard some really awful stories about survivors of car crashes getting brain damage.

been listening to Demon Hunter a lot now

I think he's actually in a coma, but I'm not sure what the status of that is now. It's really sad either way :(

I can listen to Demon Hunter is short bursts but I get tired of them pretty quickly. I don't think they ever really learned what their strengths were and it leaves almost all of their albums really lopsided; there's a bad track to go with every good one. I always go back into them thinking I'll like them again and I do for a bit, but I get worn out on them so fast.

ouch, i hope for a better life for him

even though i do really enjoy Demon Hunter that is the overall feeling that i do get with their albums. at the time they started they were doing something that was unique but then every other band started to try and do that same sound (and most failed big time). when this happened instead of evolving their sound further Demon Hunter just kind of decided to keep on doing what they do making them seem like another face in the endless crowd of clones, even though they were able to put themselves ahead of the rest in terms of sound and not only that but theyve been watering down their sound as so proven with Extremist (which i still do enjoy even if its the worst theyve put out). instead of maturing with their fanbase they just decided to go down a dying road and keep on beating a dead horse with each album of theirs. like i mean take a look at Underoath, when many other bands started copying what they did with Define the Great Line they said funk it lets make an album thats even heavier and then after that well just make a completely atompsheric album thats comparable to ISIS, Deftones, Neurosis and The Ocean. they were a band that matured when their fanbase did, same thing with a lot of other bands.

I'm actually listening to Lost In the Sound of Separation right now haha. I love Underoath, Define the Great Line blew my mind when it came out and it's still one of my favorite albums ever. LITSOS and Ø (Disambiguation) both did a great job of expanding on that sound in different directions too. I think I love them all equally at this point though DTGL holds the most nostalgic weight.

exactly Underoath are one of the perfect examples on how to evolve your sound as a band. my favorite of theirs is still Disambiguation, i dont really have any nostalgiac connections towards Define the Great Line or any of their releases in general. i love the atmosphere that was captured in Disambiguation and it hits me the hardest in terms of everything. my favorite used to be The Changing of Times but nowadays that one has been pushed over to the third spot, i loved the emotions in that album and it has When the Sun Sleeps on it which is still by far my favorite Underoath song but now i really feel my love towards Disambiguation and Define the Great Line has increased.
