Yeeeeaa they're really good. Their first album is probably the best.

i listened to their second album, ill probably go for their first sometime this week too, couldnt find a download link for their third album though, which sucks.

Digging this:

Angel Rats is good, but i kinda like that one ^ more.

yaaaaaay, both those albums are great ones though i agree that out of the two im much more into The Outer Limits.

the only one from this i don't like is the 11th track. but i haven't listened to it in a bit.

eh i never found All That Remains to be an interesting band, i think i would of dug them if i found out about them while i was in Junior High, but nowadays this style of Metalcore doesnt warrant much for me outside of a meh.

anyways this album is really good

I dug This Darkened Heart and The Fall of Ideals in high school but All That Remains hasn't interested me since then.

Yea that album by The Showdown is cool, they were the first metal band I ever saw live. Unfortunately they also played stuff from their second album as well, not that it was awful but it was not nearly as good.

i never listened to any full albums by All That Remains but i have yet to hear any tracks by them that really encourage me to bother with a full album.

ill look into the rest of The Showdowns stuff sometime just to hear what its like but judging by the sounds of it they really couldnt live up to that debut.

sat through the whole track and while i cant say its terrible it feels pretty average, i think the main killer is the clean vocals, im not a fan of his tone it feels very Radio Rock/Post-Grunge and the harmony in them was pretty weak, they dont really stick out and leave an impact, they just kind of sit in the backseat which sometimes can work but here mixed with the average, bland tone it really doesnt work. the riffs themselves were okay, nothing special or all that hard hitting, kind of playing it too safe in a lot of zones, but its tolerable.

I think their early work was their most interesting.

I don't really dig their current sound at all though, it's so far removed from the type of metalcore that I enjoy.

At the Gates is great, I think At War with Reality has become my favorite of theirs.

that song actually was pretty good actually kind of sounds closer to Melodic Death Metal than Metalcore, and i agree At War With Reality is their greatest and doesnt deserve the hate that it gets, The Book of Sand is tied with Break of Autumn for my favorite At the Gates track

Yea I didn't mind the early ATR stuff too much, though it was pretty much in line with the modern Gothenburg-influenced metalcore that kind of exploded into fame.

Converge wooooo

ill probably look into their first three albums and i would say that the modern Gothenburg-influenced Metalcore did burst into popularity though most bands focused more on being overly poppy knock-offs of At the Gates and In Flames rather than working the two together in a way that worked.

i love everything that Converge have done though their stuff pre-Jane Doe is easily my least favorite stuff of theirs, id probably say that Halo In A Haystack and When Forever Comes Crashing are their weakest but still good and Petitioning the Empty Sky being the best out of their older material, its not bad stuff but i prefer my Jane Doe AWLWLB and Axe to Fall.

I think When Forever Comes Crashing is pretty underrated and definitely the best of their pre-Jane Doe work, it's when the really upped the experimental aspect of their sound and it worked really well in my opinion.

I hope you like Breather Resist, they're pretty rad. Their sequel band Young Widows is really great too.

eh why not starting up Charmer right now

first track seems cool, really funking noisy right down to the vocals which is fine by me
