~NOiSE~
yeah it is a good album but i have yet to try out the other albums by Obliteration, though ive been meaning to. that is still the only Gorguts album that i have yet to listen to, ive heard that its like a continuation of what they did with Obscura. I haven't either but I'm afraid that they won't be as good as Black Death Horizon! From Wisdom to Hate rules and it's at least as good as Obscura. While the latter was pretty off-the-wall and insane, the former is more streamlined and focused while remaining just as technical and weird. Lots of cool angular, bending riffs and time changes with insane drumming. You'll dig it for sure.

~NOiSE~
Old-schoooooool. I'm not much of a Judas Priest fan though. However, despite not really being the same, Voivod in an amazing band from the old-school.

Disarmonia Mundi: Melodeath/metalcore, they've featured the Soilwork vocalist as wel as the former Scar Symmetry vocalist, and they're not dissimilar to those bands. They're just ok in my opinion. Soul Embraced: Super meh Christian metalcore/melodeath featuring drummer Rocky Gray who played in Evanescence. Fun fact: The song "Tourniquet" by Evanescence is actually a Soul Embraced cover. Burnt by the Sun: Badass metalcore in the vein of Coalesce and Botch. They rule, check out Soundtrack to the Personal Revolution first. The Showdown: Pretty tight Tennessee Christian melodeath/metalcore who turned into a southern rock band before going a bit back into metal, though it was never the same. Check out A Chorus of Obliteration, check out the rest at your own risk. the Gazette: J-metal, don't know much about them other than they're often compared to Dir en grey, though I suspect such a comparison is not accurate. lynch.: Just listened to a bit of them recently, decent J-metal but I can't really give an honest opinion at this point. Breather Resist: Another awesome metalcore band comparable to Botch. They eventually lost their vocalist, changed their name to Young Widows and became a noise rock band, and they stayed awesome. Sonic Syndicate: Super poppy, super shitty melodeath. They look like this: [spoiler=man don't we look cool] These Arms Are Snakes: Awesome post-hardcore formed out of the ashes of Botch and Killsadie. They rule. Horrendous: Modern old-school death metal like Obliteration, though I've never listened to them. Unearth: Thrashy, breakdown-heavy metalcore that is actually quite good. Check out The Oncoming Storm, that's probably the best starting point. Should keep you busy!

Unearth was another band that i was a little iffy on but they got compared to Darkest Hour a lot and i trust your judgement. ill probably ignore Soul Embraced and i might check out Disarmonia Mundi, the Gazette and lynch. ill definitely look into Burnt By the Sun, Breather Resist, The Showdown and Unearth. ~NOiSE~
I'm 15. drunk is not a thing for me.yeah. i get the feeling. i mean, i've never really listened to much more than once unless i like it or you guys post it more than once; but still..Me neither and I'm 23 ;) You'd be surprised how many of my favorite albums I didn't enjoy so much on first listen. Nowadays, albums that take more time to sink in are more rewarding for me, though I do enjoy a fair amount of bands that grab your attention right away. For you though, as someone who generally listens to individual songs more often, the instant gratification option is probably more appealing. Voivod is great because they're thrashy, but they also have progressive elements as well as interesting guitar tones and weird rhythms. The sci-fi concepts are also pretty unique compared to what similar groups were doing at the time, and they incorporate it well into their music. What exactly turned you off on first listen?yeah i was really iffy on Sonic Syndicate, i figured it was one of those moments where last.fm went drunk on me but apparently it said they were similar to Scar Symmetry, Soilwork, In Flames and myGrain. they look like 30 and 40 year olds dressing up as 15 year olds glad i asked before wasting my time on an album. ive heard more people compare Morbus Chron to Horrendous. Their first album is supposed to have some good moments but I don't remember it at all.
Forest Fire
Me neither and I'm 23 ;)good for you. For you though, as someone who generally listens to individual songs more oftenIt's not that, it's just if I don't like a song or two from the alum (which happens a lot) I'd rather be talking about a specific song that I do like from the album.the instant gratification option is probably more appealing.this describes the current couple generations and the next ones for quite a bit to a t Voivod is great because they're thrashy, but they also have progressive elements as well as interesting guitar tones and weird rhythms. Their first album is supposed to have some good moments but I don't remember it at all. i actually opened up a private browser and checked out a song on YouTube just for shits and giggles, it was really bad but the funniest part about it was that when i scrolled through the similar videos the first thing i saw was Escape the Fate. i never though id ever see the day that a Melodeath band would be compared with a scenecore band. the comparison is wild but YouTube recommendations are based upon what people watch so there you have it an official scenekid approved Melodic Death Metal band. Um... the headache I got when I listened? I literally said that.... i think he was asking what in particular gave you the headache
Forest Fire
i think he was asking what in particular gave you the headachemainly the opening riff and how it shifts from one ear to the other.... and then around 3 minutes in and then past the 6 and something where the second part started... there was a bit at 5:20 or so i liked though. Yea Unearth is cool, I don't listen to them much anymore but they're definitely a solid band. Their guitarist plays some pretty nasty riffs and leads. Target Earth was noisy but not as loud as Dimension Hatross, Negatron or Phobos, i found the noisy bits more quiet in Target Earth and they were mostly in the background with the riffs out in front. Unearth are one of the few bands that can really pull off that style of Metalcore
Forest Fire
so basically its mostly the noisier parts were a bother for you?yeah, pretty much. though if they transitioned from ear to ear as such: fffuck... i can't find a version that does it... find the mp3... it ddoes it. youtube... not so much.. it would be better. they dont always have stuff thats noisy weird electronic-y sounds in their music try listening to Target Earth, The Outer Limits and Angel Rat instead.will do anyways starting up Unearth now, strong first track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je-3J6xn4Wgthis was pretty good.
