They're both remasters, hence the "2"s in the name. They sound great, Coalesce is one of my favorites.

Comity is freaking awesome too.

oh okay, i didnt know that about either, i like Coalesce but i wouldnt consider them a favorite of mine

i havent listened to Comity yet though i will sometime

The only melodeath I jam these days are the classic three. In Flames is the rarest for me to listen to, I think they finally did something really lackluster with their most recent album while I'd enjoyed most of what they did up to that point. Dark Tranquillity have never stopped being awesome though, and I really like the latest At the Gates album.

From your list, I really like Dir en grey, Gridlink, Darkspace, Death (last four like Moog Said) and Voivod. I really dug the latest Leviathan album too.

I like a lot of melodeath. I think some of my other favorites would be Carcass, Arch Enemy (first 4), Scar Symmetry, Blood Stain Child, Wintersun, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Conducting From The Grave (although they are melodic deathcore)

eh i love melodeath but i really cant agree with you on Arch Enemy, Wintersun or The Black Dahlia Murder all of them are boring to me and the only album by Carcass that i like is Surgical Steel. i have yet to try out Blood Stain Child but i know that theyre considered to be pretty good, though i always thought that they were Industrial Metal, and ive never heard of Conducting From the Grave but i really cant stand Deathcore so i wont really bother looking them up.

Conducting From The Grave reminds me of newer Carcass but with Trever Strnad from The Black Dahlia Murder as vocalist (Their vocal techniques are similar). It is hardly deathcore in my opinion minus a few breakdowns.

Blood Stain Child is more of a melodic death band with trance elements. Try listening to Epilision.

I also enjoy Children of Bodoms first album, and Kalmahs first album aswell. Kalmah is literaly amazing

I usually hardly ever come by something I dont like. I think some of the few bands I cannot stand at all are Meshuggah, Black Tongue, Darkthrone, Mayhem (minus Deathcrush of course), Most mainstream deathcore, all of crunkcore, Obituary, Slayer, Anthrax, most of Dragonforce, Gojira, and almost anything like Gojira and Meshuggah (generic math metal).

i fail to see how Gojira and Meshuggah are generic, sure their techniques are overused in todays metal music but back when they were first around they were unique and definitely much more revolutionary than the bands that fail at what they try. oh well at least we both like Children of Bodom, theyre pretty good i currently own Follow the Reaper and a double disc set for Halo of Blood both are good albums. Crunkcore isnt really metal at all...i dont even know what it is or who thought it was a good idea to mix crunk with hardcore

I agree about Meshuggah being anything but generic, they may not seem too original these days (especially their latest album) but Chaosphere and I are on a whole different level and no one has really been able to reproduce that kind of sound.

I don't care for Gojira too much these days but I don't think they're bad. The Way of All Flesh would be the album of theirs that I'm most likely to jam if I ever felt like it.

Do you like any metalcore? The non-shitty variety that is.

Chaosphere is really good but Catch33 will always be my favorite Meshuggah album, Koloss was such an awful album even my friend whose a huge djent fan actually said that album was "too djent for him" and that it was nothing but "helicopter drumming and headache riffs", though me and him both agree that Demiurge is a killer track, definitely the only worthwhile song from the album.

Gojira are one of my favorites too though id probably say that The Way of All Flesh is behind From Mars To Sirius, have you ever tried their earlier albums? those were really good too.

also since were posting non-shitty Metalcore

This album was a pleasent surprise. When the first chorus hits, I just lose it.

Their albums before were fairly average but not bad. The new has a lot of great moments though.

Sumac is awesome! I really like that album.

yeah im just on the first track of their new album and it does sound great right off the bat, i might go and see what their other stuff is like sometime.

i really enjoyed that Sumac release, even though im a much bigger fan of Panopticon and onwards era of ISIS im still actually happy that Aaron Turner went back to the old heavy sludgy sound with this new band of his, id actually say that Sumac is heavier than anything that ISIS have done, except maybe The Red Sea EP, that was really dark and face wrecking

Have you listened to Old Man Gloom? It's more sludgy awesomeness with weird ambient sections. Aaron Turner is a member as well as Caleb Scofield from Cave In and Nate Newton from Converge, among others.

Well that's cool haha. They do have have two new albums if you're interested in checking those out.

I bought two As I Lay Dying albums today for some reason. I guess I still think they're good haha.

ill look into those new Old Man Gloom albums when i feel in the mood for them again

man As I Lay Dying, thats a bit of a nostalgic name, havent cared much about them since Junior High. i remembered jamming The Powerless Rise a lot during that time, Parallels was one of those songs i kept on hitting on repeat when i was younger.

I got that and An Ocean Between Us. They have a lot of tracks that I still like so I picked up some cheap used copies.

ah used stores can be great, you can get stuff that you dont wanna pay full price for and you can also get some stuff thats out of print sometimes. ive gone to used CD stores quite a bit though it always feels nicer to go the extra step and get the album for its full price.

i might look into As I Lay Dying tomorrow just for a bit of a blast from the past since sometimes that can be fun to do.

I like buying use as well, I'll generally buy a new release at full price but I'll definitely buy a used copy of an older album since it's doubtful that the artist is making any money from it.

I tried listening to Frail Words Collapse and Shadows Are Security again but didn't enjoy them much at all...the two I bought I really the only ones I dig now. I don't think their last one was very good by comparison either.
