I'll check out the MCR debut, I don't think I've ever listened to it.

Seahaven isn't horrible but I find them to be pretty boring, they don't really stand out to me at all.

Think I'm gonna skramz a bit...though Loma Prieta hardly fits the bill anymore haha.

Girugamesh is sweet, couldn't find the Lostprophets one. stuff i didn't comment on I liked.

Dang, I didn't realize he linked every band. Moog goes all out.

figured that The Bled and Thursday might of been tough ones to listen to, their vocals are a very acquired taste. Emery dont use harsh vocals a whole lot and most of their songs utilize clean vocals with miniscule amounts of screaming.

it is a really good debut definitely a lot better than the stuff they were putting out later

i get what you mean with Seahaven and honestly i dont really listen to them as much as when i first heard them

even if Loma Prieta barely fit the screamo bill theyre still one of the best

that actually wasnt everything that i was planning on posting, i left out a few that i was thinking of, yes i do go all out

I have too many favorites, so I will list all of them now

All Time Favorites:

Dir en grey

Death

Thy Art is Murder

Mnemic

Burzum

The Faceless

Infant Annihilator

Rings of Saturn

The Black Dahlia Murder

Necrophagist

Some of my recent favorites:

Emperor

Porcupine Tree

Oblivionized

Archspire

Aenimus

Type O Negative

Gridlink

Mechina

Darkspace

Leviathan

Periphery

Hellwitch

Voivod

7.H. Target

Probably 100 more I could list lmfao...

I have practically been moseying around from genre to genre in the past three years, it all started when an old friend introduced me to the likes of Dir en grey, Here Comes The Kracken, Death, Mudvayne, Kataklysm, Dr. Acula, Infant Annihilator, Rings of Saturn, and a ton of other bands. Pretty much stemmed into a huge passion of mine, I am growing a stronger love towards music as every day passes.

I have currently been diving into Depressive and Atmospheric black metal and also a load of brutal death/slamming brutal death bands. With some extremely good results.

Anyone here ever needs suggestions of any genre, I can try to reccomend some. A few genres I am not so familiar with are doom metal and old school death metal.

Pretty good album to say, but Mudvaynes album LD 50 will always have an even more special place in my head

the only Mudvayne album that im into is LD 50, really enjoy the technical riffs on that album, their second album was okay but then after that they completely ditched all of the Tech Metal stuff they had going on and went for a straight up Nu-Metal sound that im not into

No Leviathan?!

As for nu-metal, Deftones is the best.

Nice! That's a fun album.

Dunno if you're interested but that Kashee Opeiah album is not hard to find in CD form, you can get it pretty cheap online.

Also this band is pretty skramz, you'll dig.

yeah i was originally gonna get Birth.Eater but i cant find The Kinison for download anywhere and ended up deciding that it would be a smarter idea to go for that album instead, next on my list is Mongrel (since i cant get a download for that one either now) and then probably Birth.Eater and maybe ill try to find Panic In Solitude after that one

ill look into that band once im in the mood for screamo

Fair. I know quite a few dont care for Burzum because Varg can be a pretty douchey person, same with Wrest from Leviathan. I should also mention one of my recent favorites is also Scar Symmetry. The Singularity is probably my favorite album from them.

Red is too.

LD 50 was just an emotional trip combined with such a techincal and beautiful style of avant-garde. I perhaps loved Ryan Martinies bass on the album as it was one of the shining factors of that album. Chad Greys voice is just amazing too, really emotional. Guitar and drums were really good aswell, Songs like Dig were agressive as could be, while stuff like Nothing To Gein, -1, and Cradle were so desolate, and sad. The whole album was quite bipolar. It transitioned between depressive sound to agressive sound, which is my favorite part about the album. As for the album that succeeded it, they dropped a lot of things I thought made LD 50 amazing, They kind of stripped to full on alternative metal, which didnt really sit well with me. World So Cold brought some of the emotional parts back, which was a great addition. The S/T and The New Game were just bad though.

Not rushing at all, but do check out their newest album. I know they lost their clean vocalist, but they picked up two more of them and they literally make the album amazing.

The only melodeath I jam these days are the classic three. In Flames is the rarest for me to listen to, I think they finally did something really lackluster with their most recent album while I'd enjoyed most of what they did up to that point. Dark Tranquillity have never stopped being awesome though, and I really like the latest At the Gates album.

From your list, I really like Dir en grey, Gridlink, Darkspace, Death (last four like Moog Said) and Voivod. I really dug the latest Leviathan album too.

i like Siren Charms, it had a few killer tracks on it (Everything's Gone, Dead Eyes, In Plain View and Through Oblivion) but most of the album was just okay stuff, its the one that i usually jam to in the car when my moms around, either that one or Sounds of a Playground Fading since those two albums are probably the only ones that she could sit through in their entirety, funny since out of the classic three melodeath bands In Flames are the one that i listen to the most and At the Gates are the one i listen to the least, i do agree though that the newest album by At the Gates was amazing, pretty much their best to me, The Book of Sand is my favorite At the Gates song right next to Break of Autumn

I was in the middle of one of the songs on this album when my internet decided to say "f you" and go limited, which stops youtube vids and generally anything else i'm trying to load. i'll try to get the whole album though, cause i did like what i heard.

Listening to this now. sounds sweet so far.

and At the Gates

gonna check this band out later.

glad that youre getting into In Flames, you should also give Reroute to Remain a shot since thats their best to me.

im not too sure if youd like At the Gates, theyre a bit more raw than most melodeath bands though if you wanna get into them then At War With Reality and Slaughter of the Soul are probably the easiest listens by them.
