~NOiSE~
I don't feel they sacrificed their experimental side though, just amped up the heaviness which I don't mind at all. So many of the songs just get me pumped. Never listened to The Dear Hunter.

Never listened to The Dear Hunter. i dont think they sacrificed their experimental side but i just like it better when theyre experimental more in a melodic sense The Dear Hunter are a soft Prog Rock band featuring the vocalist of TREOS, its alright stuff, but when i say soft i really do mean soft dont listen to them when your attention span isnt at its highest because you most likely will get bored. Susie
Feeling some Norma Jean. SHE SIMPLY WILL NOT DIE while Bless the Martyr an awesome classic and influential record i dont think that i like it as much as many others did, dont get me wrong i love it like any other release that Norma Jean have put out, but i wouldnt put it up as one of my favorite Norma Jean albums, its not my least favorite either though. i prefer Josh Scogin when he was in The Chariot gonna try out this band once im done with Embodymenthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEXTIjKnICM

It's so dark and the clean Frodus-style breaks are really rad. And the 15-minute track in the middle is epic. That Embodyment album is cool, just some solid death/metal/core. I think you'll like it. As for Oceana, Birth.Eater is a perfect place to start. Their first album isn't that great (I find it pretty boring) but Birth.Eater introduced a new vocalist and is much darker and way more interesting musically. The concept is about how the singer was supposed to be aborted before birth and how he dealt with that growing up...it's not a pleasant ride at all, but it's a very rewarding listen that ends on a hopeful note. After that, the band kind of did what As Cities Burn did and turned to a more indie/prog sound for an EP before changing their name to Polyenso. Their first album under that name sounds like Radiohead and it's very good, even though it REALLY sounds like Radiohead, vocals and all.

~NOiSE~
You should definitely check those, Blood Enough for Us All is a straight up hardcore album and it's really intense, it makes for a jarring listen. I Never Said I Was Brave moves more towards the [A➡B] Life style and it has the first part of "Four Word Letter". Pale Horses is great too. Glad you liked Oceana! Birth.Eater definitely stands apart from a lot of similarly-styled groups.

Oceana is beautiful, i honestly find it shocking that Rise Records would wanna sign up a band like that, seems really out of place compared to what they usually throw onto their label. ~NOiSE~
Oh man [A➡B] Life rules, it's their most raw and aggressive full-length (though the two EPs before that are even more aggressive). It's All Crazy is good but not compared to their other works, it's got a lot of folk and sing-along type tracks if you're into that. Birth.Eater is awesome but that's the only time Oceana has sounded like that. Their Clean Head EP is kind of like Thrice's Beggars but a bit softer. Mr.Robot
Yeah, A to B is pretty raw. From vocals to guitars. Anyway, I'm still jamming Pale Horse. Best instrumental. Best album since Brother, Sister for me. Also, this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxqtYnLxU0E

They announced about a week after I bought mine that they were reissuing it, which was depressing but it's ok because I see my copy as a collector's item. I think the reissue has the newer logo and a "making of" type of thing in the liner notes?
