it sounds beautiful just like anything else that Envy have done. since were on Envy heres my favorite track of theirs

All the Footprints... is just an awesome album all around. Judging from the trailer, this one will have a bit more urgency than the past couple of envy albums. I have no complaints.

I don't care for ETID too much but that JFAC album is great.

Found another grind band that I really dig.

ive always heard of Brutal Truth but i never bothered with them. i always loved ETID, theyre so energetic and all around fun Metalcore. Sun Eater is just pure bliss, very Gorguts-esque, actually i think i like it more than Gorguts.

I definitely wouldn't say JFAC does it better than Gorguts but I still think it's a great album. Gorguts middle three albums are all perfect to me; Considered Dead and Colored Sands have some flaws but they're still awesome.

Brutal Truth has much of that angular riffing that I love, and they're more of a deathgrind outfit so their sound is very dense. Glad I decided to look into them.

i never said JFAC did it better, i just meant that i enjoyed listening to their album more. i fail to see how Colored Sands has any flaws, its super heavy atmospheric Death Metal sound is done really well and it still manages to capture the old technical spirit of their earlier material, though it is a bit less technical than their older stuff i fail to see how that could be a problem considering how well done the additions are, it was probably the Gorguts album that i should have started with since i most likely would have had an easier time getting into their older stuff if i started with that album. i tried Considered Dead once but didnt really care for it all that much.

ill try out Brutal Truth at some point when im in the mood for Grindcore

I know what you mean, my opinions are purely based on the enjoyment I get from an album. Of course Colored Sands is awesome, but it didn't have same impact that the three before that did. I think some parts of it felt less natural (particularly the drumming) and a bit more on the wanky prog side...that probably sounds kind of contradictory coming from someone who loves Obscura, but I think of that album as more experimental and avant-garde than prog. I'm not sure if that makes any sense but whatever haha.

yeah i kinda get what you mean, Obscura was much more raw and insane though Colored Sands is a bit more controlled on its technicality, it sounds more closer to the bands that were influenced by Gorguts. personally Colored Sands is my favorite Gorguts album because i love the atmosphere in it. never listened to From Wisdom to Hate but i hear its quite similar to Obscura.

From Wisdom to Hate is similar to Obscura but it's much more reigned in and fine-tuned while Obscura was totally off-the-wall and insane. It's amazing though so I would definitely encourage checking it out.

I understand though, it took me two months to get my Darkspace albums from Italy.

my dad ordered them and theyre going to his house, which i was supposed to go to during last weekend but due to my writers workshop thing im not going until this upcoming weekend, theyre probably here by now but who knows.

man two months is a pretty long time

Ah, ok. I'm sure they'll have come by now. What kind of stuff do you write?

yeah im sure of it too, it would really suck if they didnt considering how i cant get any of the tracks off of The Dead Next Door due to being in Canada.

ive been wanting to dive into graphic novels and animation, my style is pretty much cute anthro animals in a very surreal/arthouse style plot. i draw most of my influence from Stanley Kubrick, Don Bluth and Anno Hideaki. i know none of these are writers but i dont read very much so it makes sense that my influence doesnt come from writers.

before all of that my writing was basically just poems with loads of symbolism and metaphors based upon my life.

Norma Jean mentioned putting out a new album this year as well. They said to expect a weird one, which I see as a good thing.

Oh yea, new Deafheaven and envy too!

I really dig the first and last of the bands you mentioned. I don't care too much for Daath and Nodes of Ranvier is decent metalcore. I think I liked their self-titled the most.

i enjoyed all four bands to a certain extent. Brutal Truth were good, Daath werent a bad listen, Nodes of Ranvier were pretty sick and Imperial Triumphant were great too.
