Heard of, yes, listened to extensively, no.

This track's definitely pretty cool.

Also just so I'm contributing something, I have no idea if I already posted this so apologies if it's a repost.

I don't like Scar Symmetry nearly as much as I used to but they have some cool songs.

I remember liking their album Signs of Existence when I was in high school but I don't remember their first album very well. I haven't heard the two newest ones.

As for Soilwork, I think I liked The Chainheart Machine but I don't dig the new stuff too much.

yeah i agree that Scar Symmetry arent the best that melodeath has to offer though that still doesnt stop me from enjoying their first three records, ill probably get onto their later stuff at some point, ill also give Signs of Existence a shot too. i really like Soilwork specifically Stabbing the Drama though all their albums are good in their own way.

Light the Torch is my favorite song by them though my favorite album is Stabbing the Drama, that album and Figure Number Five are their best starting points

also gave that Xerath track you posted a try and i wasnt really feeling it, the song felt a bit too showy for my tastes.

In Grief are cool

gg

i probably would of liked this a lot if i were still into the show, though i got bored of it and lost interest pretty quickly

Whoa, shots fired.

Time for some sexy, sexy grind.

Discordance Axis are sick as hell, even though i dont listen to Grindcore as much as i used to. i still prefer Gridlink, Pig Destroyer and Wormrot over them though.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but what do you guys think about Leprous' new single?

it sounds okay, not really digging it but i dont really find it to be awful or anything, i think the main problem with me for this is how average sounding it is.

cant think of anything new to bring up other than Haste the Day coming out with new material

Yea, I just really don't dig that brand of post-hardcore. I guess it just feels too derivative or something.

i feel like The Fall of Troy were the first band to incorporate that style and then Dance Gavin Dance took the sound even further and then everyone else started copying them, i still do enjoy Stolas, Hail the Sun and other stuff in that vein, but i will agree with you that theres some diversity needed

feel like posting some Katatonia

Killsadie predates them. To be fair though, they sounded more like Fugazi at first.

The only reason for that would be because everyone in Hot Cross would still be in Saetia. Plus, Killsadie are more align with Thursday/Glassjaw than they're to The Fall Of Troy and Dance Gavin Dance. Faraquet would be closer and they did start the same year as Killsadie.

I think it's fair to say that they both went down similar paths since Killsadie and Saetia formed the same year. Also Cryonics and Experiments In Expectation came out the same year, and I thought the latter was a lot more along the lines of that noodly post-hardcore sound that's so popular today than their Fugazi-esque sound they had earlier.

Anyway, doesn't really matter haha. I'm still jamming a lot of Darkspace. I got the new Death Grips and Hot Water Music's Never Ender today.

I haven't cared much for BtBaM recently anyway so I doubt this will interest me. I don't really like anything after The Silent Circus to be honest.

i love BtBaM and i doubt that theyll ever make an album that i dont like, but their stuff seems to be starting to go a bit downhill

Poison the Well are great to listen to while doing some art
