I haven't dug Darkest Hour for a long time but Deliver Us was cool.

Japanese version of You Fail Me has a bonus track in the middle of the album...I need it now.

Deliver Us is their best album, i own that album along with Undoing Ruin. i dig everything theyve done though ill admit that their most recent album wasnt all that great, i still didnt mind it though

Wolves At My Door is a killer track

Yea it is, I'm going to have to pick up the Japanese version now just for the extra track. I like that Converge works bonus tracks into the track listing instead of tacking them on at the end, as to not ruin the flow of the album. I think All We Love We Leave Behind was better with the bonus tracks and You Fail Me is also better for it in my opinion.

At the Gates did it as well, my version of At War With Reality has two extra tracks in the middle of the album.

Trenches are pretty cool. They've been working on a second album for years but I have no idea where it's at right now.

a second album would definitely be something to look forward to, would be sick if it came out during the same year That Haste the Day release a new album (since they got back together)

I hope so but it's been so long that I don't have to much hope. Anything can happen though.

Got my Gridlinks today!

Yea I'm digging them really hard, definitely one of the best grind bands.

Katatonia's definitely a good band, really consistent. I like the last three albums a lot. "Forsaker" is one of my favorite tracks of theirs.

sadly somethings going on with the monitor on my computer and i wasnt able to listen to more than one Katatonia album, FoForsaker was a pretty killer track, Deliberation is probably my favorite Katatonia track, Gridlink are my favorite Grindcore band by far, Longhena is one hell of a listen

Discordance Axis are great but i find Gridlink to be more interesting

i love Blindside

Blindside is aight, I think I just got to them too late.

Been listening to Alexisonfire lately though, forgot how much I love this band. Can't decide if I like "Watch Out!" or the self-titled more.

Oh what the hell..."Watch Out!" is the best.

i first got into Blindside when i was about 10, back then i preferred their newer alt rock tinged Post-Hardcore style, though ive fallen more for their older stuff, i still like the newer stuff

AoF were one of the bands that really changed my childhood along with Deftones, Old Crows / Young Cardinals was the first album i ever bought though i like Crisis best. Watch Out is great too, i own that one too as well as everything else they did except for the Dogs Blood EP

"watch Out!" has the best songs in my opinion, and the most diverse songwriting.

I don't have Dog's Blood either seeing as it's vinyl-only, and I don't really collect vinyl. Awesome EP though, I hope they decide to make another album. They recently got back together to play some festivals but I'm not sure if they'll be doing anything else.

yeah its nice to see that they got back together, it was actually earlier than i expected.

not the hugest fan of Demon Hunter though Ryan Clark was a nice little add on for this track

on other news im thinking about trying some Nile and Impending Doom since theyre both Tech Death bands that ive heard of

I don't really like Impending Doom or Nile. Nile is really talented (saw them live with a friend and they were great) but I don't care too much for what they musically. Impending Doom I just don't find interesting at all, they're more deathcore than anything.

Jamming some Spitfire at the moment. The Dead Next Door is my favorite of theirs.

yeah i gave a few of their songs a shot and found Impending Doom to be pretty boring dont understand why i keep seeing them in the related artist section for Becoming the Archetype, maybe its because of BtA newest album being considered deathcore, just saw Impending Doom in the related section for a lot of Tech bands and assumed that they were one as well.

didnt really care too much for Nile as well, but i thought that they were okay, definitely talented but also definitely not that interesting for me, i never heard of Spitfire though, so ill get onto them

listened to some Coalesce after a long time, i really forgot how much i liked them. i actually like them more than i thought i did.

EDIT: finished that Spitfire album, it was true beauty at its finest, sick as hell Mathcore, loved every single moment of it, and it may be my favorite Mathcore album of all, right up there with classics like The Chariot, TDEP and Protest the Hero.

They were probably suggested because they're both popular Christian metal bands, and Becoming the Archetype has basically become a deathcore band as well.

It's always good to go back and listen to stuff again, there were albums I didn't enjoy at first but after easing myself into different styles, going back and listening again made for some of my favorite albums.

Dang, that Spitfire album must've had a good impression on you haha. They have two more albums and an EP but they changed their style up a bit. All great stuff though.

the thing with me and Coalesce is that when i went for a while without listening to them i just assumed it was a problem with their vocals since they were a learning curve before i became a fan, but now after listening to them again in months, it was just the whole classic "got caught up on other music and bands" kind of thing, though im not as huge of a fan of them as i used to be since ive found a lot of other Metalcore and Mathcore bands that i dig more

"good impression" is a huge understatement for that Spitfire album. i seriously love the hell out of it. really like how theyre so chaotic and melodic but at the same time they dont let the melodic parts flush too much out of the chaos, i love headbang parts as much as the melodic parts. i just love bands like that. i was hooked on the album right from the first minute of the first track.

anyways heres an oldie

Coalesce has always been a favorite for me, they pump out some of the craziest rhythms I've ever heard and I still haven't gotten them all figured out (particularly on Functioning on Impatience). And the vocals have never bothered me, I always thought they were awesome.

You should check out Spitfire's other albums as well, they're pretty great. Their progression reminds me a lot of Poison the Well but Spitfire has always been way darker, especially on their third (and last) album Cult Fiction.
