I don't like Watershed as much as I used to to, but "Heir Apparent" is a sick song. I think My Arms Your Hearse might be my favorite album of theirs, and Orchid and Morningrise are also awesome, though very different than what they did after that. I also think Deliverance is quite unique among their discography and is probably one of their more underrated albums.

the older stuff is great, but i dont feel like its as good as their later stuff, Deliverance is underrated for sure. Heir Apparent is a killer song, as is the rest of Watershed imo

one of the most overlooked bands that ive known of, these guys definitely came out at the wrong time. You can really hear the authentic Post-Hardcore and Goth Rock influences in their sound

I really enjoy the more angular riffing Opeth does on My Arms, Your Hearse through Blackwater Park, I don't think they did it as much after that.

I don't think I've ever listened to Aiden.

i think they were at their best from Blackwater Park through Heritage, but opinions and all

Aiden are one of the few Post-Hardcore bands that ive enjoyed since my childhood, everything theyve done is worth checking out once youve got the chance. I think theyre overlooked because they tend to get lumped in with a lot of emo kid/scene kid bands and get crap from critics, they definitely deserve a lot more love than they get

been digging through Fugazi albums as well

I guess I just like early Opeth! I still need to revisit Ghost Reveries but I love their sound all through Blackwater Park. Deliverance/Damnation is great too.

I'll get on checking out Aiden soon, and Fugazi is awesome. If you haven't, check out Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto's bands before Fugazi. Ian MacKaye was in Minor Threat and Embrace, while Guy Picciotto was in Rites of Spring and One Last Wish.

hope youll love Aiden as much as i do when you get the chance to listen to them, ive already listened to Minor Threat and Rites of Spring, and i love both bands, never bothered with Embrace or One Last Wish though.

listened to The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here today, its pretty sick but Parade of Chaos is still my number one album for Zao

I'll probably get on that tomorrow. Embrace is awesome, and One Last Wish is arguably better than Rites of Spring.

My fave song from them~

The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here is a sick album. My favorite from Zao is probably Liberate Te Ex Inferis, with Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest being a close second.

Also, I got the new Rosetta EP in the mail today, a week before the release date! It's pretty cool, and I think there's still room for it to grow on me.

One Last Wish sound pretty nice, you know what your favorite Fugazi record would be, i think i like In On the Kill Taker best and Instrument has to be my favorite song by them

Liberate Te Ex Inferis is really good but i still prefer Parade of Chaos and The Fear over it

never knew that Rosetta had a new EP coming up

I've actually only listened to 13 Songs, Repeater, In on the Kill Taker and Red Medicine. In on the Kill Taker is probably my favorite of those though.

Yea, Rosetta announced the EP awhile ago, the same time they first talked about the next full-length which ended up being The Anaesthete. It's called Flies to Flame and it's pretty great, only four tracks but standard Rosetta epicness. It comes out on Tuesday but I got mine early, I didn't even know it'd shipped yet so it was a nice surprise.

the only Fugazi albums i havent listened to yet are Red Medicine and End Hits, i also needa watch the documentary at some point.

cool about the new Rosetta

I got to see them play that live but as an acoustic rendition of it, so much better than the original.

id imagine that just about any Opeth song would sound better acoustic

I'm sure no one will mind because we're the only ones that post here.

I've been meaning to check out Joy Division because every freaking emo bands sings about Ian Curtis.

I'll jam some stuff after I finish this album which I bought today:

Joy Division were legends, Unknown Pleasures is a masterpiece and undoubtedly one of my all time favorites get on that album as quick as you possibly can, also check out the movie Control. I have a friend who really loves Carcass, sadly i cant really find myself getting into them, ive tried all of their albums and one track off of the new one but they all just feel meh to me, i do like Napalm Death though

I'll get on it soon.

This is my first Carcass album and I dig it.

I preordered the new Full of Hell album, which is a collaboration with Japanese noise artist Merzbow...should range from pretty interesting to absolutely kickass.

i enjoy both Full of Hell and Merzbow so i should definitely give that album a listen when it comes out. Really wish i could dig bands like Carcass, early Cynic, Gorguts, Death etc. but just no matter how hard i try i cant stand them, amazingly talented, influential and unique bands but all i can get from them is earbleeds galore.

really digging the new Earth and Lacuna Coil albums

He posted porn to get himself banned. Curious as to how you got your account back after that.

I'm not big into Atheist, but when it comes to prog/avante-garde death metal I really like Cynic and Gorguts.

...aaaand he's banned again. Guess he wasn't supposed to be back.

Have yet to check them out, but I hear they are similar to what Boris is most famous for. I think I can pick up their album Earth 2 at the music store if you think it's worth it, I've seen it there before.

I lurk everywhere for no particular reason. I listen to some metal, but its mostly what my dad listens to. Stuff like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden. Can't get into the newer stuff.

Gotta respect the classics, I wouldn't be able to enjoy most of the music I do today without them. I don't go back much farther than the late 80s though.

I grew up with rock and early metal, but I mostly listen to whatevers on the radio and stuff. I'm a huge Lorde fan, but that doesn't really belong here.

as much as i love Earth 2 id probably say that the new album or The Bees Made Honey in the Lions Skull are better starters to Earth
