Horde is another good example I think, but I haven't really listened to them.

On the topic of black metal, my disappointment for a no-drums-no-vocals Wolves In the Throne room album (which I will still give a fair listen when it releases) has been curbed by the announcement of a new Agalloch album, to be released May 13th. Titled The Serpent & the Sphere. I think the name sounds a bit strange compared to the previous albums but I have no doubt the album will rule considering the quality of their past few releases.

I'm not "disappointed" by the announce of an ambient album, even though I am absolutely in love with their old sound. I'm actually really interested to see what they have to offer in terms of a synth-heavy ambient album. What I am disappointed by is the fact that I tried to spend like $50 in WITTR merch (two shirts and a hoodie) and they don't ship to my side of the country.

I'm certain Agalloch's new release is going to be astounding, just like everything they've ever released in the past.

I think an ambient WITTR album would either be total borecore or itll be interesting

Cool to hear about the new Agalloch album

Red Fang are okay heard them a few times before, ill have to look more into Will Haven

Will Haven is kind of like a more hardcore Deftones, I think you'd dig them Moog.

I finally decide to get off my lazy butt and listen to these guys, then they split-up, damn

Yea, that really sucks but at least there'll be a last album and tour. What have you listened to by them?

Will be seeing Glassjaw ripoff Letlive next week while visiting Chicago. So pump for this! The only cons of this is that Of Mice and Men and Bring Me The Horizon is also on the tour.

Eh...you could sit through worse, at least BMTH had the decency to switch up their style a little bit, Of Mice & Men on the other hand can go screw themselves, hopefully letlive will be worth sitting through those bands, I doubt that they wouldnt.

Also lol @ Glassjaw ripoff

Glassjaw ripoff Letlive is always worth it, their live shows are always intense. The only weird thing is that Glassjaw ripoff Letlive always tour with the strangest bunch. They had one album that doesn't sound like a giant love note to Glassjaw/most 90's post hardcore band but the never play anything from it at all.

Yeah, That line-up is as strange as Deftones and Periphery. Still needa listen to one of their albums, ive only heard a few tracks from them

Eh, both are droptuned to sheet.

Letlive is a hardcore-ish band.  Those other two are generic metalcore bands.  I could see how those fanbases could overlap.

The letlive fanbase mostly hates those bands and the same for Deftones and Periphery (but then again a lot of people tend to hate on Djent)

Its like putting Norma Jean with Pierce the Veil

So it's like a hipster dick-measuring thing.

Because Norma Jean and Pierce the Veil are definitely both Metalcore.  Norma Jean is just heavier and Pierce the Veil is more... uh... screechy.

Although I did see Trivium was playing with Asking Alexandria once and I thought that was really strange where some might not so I guess you have to be into a certain kind of music to get it.

I would see the sheet out of a Deftones/Periphery show though.

Kinda, I wouldnt say hipster though cause Norma Jean and letlive are more halfway into obscurity.

PtV are more Post-Hardcore than anything else

And if you think those line-ups are weird, you should see the festivals Deafheaven is playing at.

Didn't say the lineups were weird, just sigh that I have to go through the motion of listening to BMTH and OFAM.

And Deathwish Inc's bands usually tour with bands under that label so it might not be that weird. Though last time I saw Defheaven, they toured with BTBAM and Kindred. What bands are they touring with right now?

Well I'm seeing them and Intronaut open for Between the Buried and Me if you think that's weird, but I was mostly referring to some of the festivals they'll be attending.

The thing that catches my eyes the most is the fact that Disclosure and James Blake are with Skrillex, which for you non-electronic fans is the equivalent to pairing Converge and Botch with Asking Alexandria.

Anyways the only good artists/bands that are on those festivals are Deafheaven, James Blake, Disclosure, Jack White, and Interpol. Also theres quite a few bands/artists that i dont recognize or havent listened to yet on those festivals

Anyways putting all that aside its pretty funny to see a Black Metal band being lumped in with a bunch of indie bands, though a lot of indie fans do enjoy Deafheaven (no wonder they get called Hipster BM all the time)
