Then you should try Evny and wine on a cold night or a rainy night...it will be a night that you'll envy for not having it too often.

And this is what I get for myself for christmas.

These guys aren't bad, I might check out more of them.

My Christmas present to myself was buying all three Touche Amore albums from the Deathwish Estore.

Another band I've been getting into lately... Figured I'd share them since they have a lot of skramz influence and you guys seem to be well-versed in skramz.

You had me at skramz haha. In all seriousness a lot of screamo groups are pretty derivative but these guys are pretty unique. Screamo with folk and black metal influences? I think yes.

That's what got me into them. Admittedly, skramz is not my choice of genre (The Saddest Landscape being the only skramz band I legitimately enjoy). But, these guys manage to meld skramz with post-rock, folk, and black metal influence and they really do succeed in creating a unique sound. Not to mention, they offer this album for free on their bandcamp! Though, I enjoyed it enough to pay for it.

Theres a bit of a surprising amount of BM bands that take skramz influences

(The Saddest Landscape being the only skramz band I legitimately enjoy).

Heh, those guys are my favorite skramz band.

Everyone's been praising The Saddest Landscape for the past few days haha. May I ask what you like about them as opposed to other screamo bands?

I might have to download that We Came Out Like Tigers album and give it a listen.

Is Survived By won me over. I decided to buy all three albums after that, hoping they come in tomorrow. I also liked having Deathwish bands as my sig theme.

Is Survived By definitely is a great album, cant really think which Touche Amore album is my favorite though.

I know you would. Anyone who loves Orchid/Ampere would instantly click on them. And that's a pretty cool present. Touche Amore won me over with Is Survive By as well and then wow me with ...To The Beat of a Dead Horse. Deathwish just features a lot of my favorite bands aside from Converge of course. Birds in Row, Narrows, Loma Prieta, Deftheaven, Modern Life Is War.

Mate, that was beautiful.

So why The Saddest Landscape appeal to you more compared to others?

And here's another bm with some of skramz/post-rock influences that you might enjoy as well.

I like their older stuff a lot better but they new stuff isn't too bad.

Posting this again because the link was being weird. It's a must-listen for doom/sludge fans.

Theyre Only Chasing safety and Lost In The Sound of Separation, the only two ones that they had, i also scored The Artist In The Ambulance, Relationship of Command, and Wrongdoers.

The older stuff is still pretty good, but i had gotten bored halfway during the album, their newer stuff is a bit more interesting sounding, especially their last release which was a darker sounding album that drew heavy influences from Post-Punk, its pretty easy to notice the influences once you listen to it.
