Small drops of pure water fell into the Greek seaside, lightly dappling the sands and greenery with splotches of liquid. The sea seemed restless, roaring back and forth, pulsing up and down the usually pristine beaches, as though it was warring with the water than fell from the sky. The island of Ithaca, set out not too far in the Ionian Sea, was no more than a blotch of green and blue in the storm. But in this dark and stormy night on the Greek coast, one place was brightly lit. It was a school, or so it said. In reality, it bore more resemblance to a Greek temple, with columns and stucco-ed buildings thrust about like the past had suddenly decided to reappear in the present. It was known as the Elysian Preparatory School, and on this day thousands of students would be flocking to it for the school year to begin. Nicodemus Cole, unfortunately, was one of them. A crowd of new students had gathered in the main entry hall of the school, waiting for the principal to appear and help them get through the first day of the year. Nicodemus Cole wandered aimlessly through the crowd, noting various things. The Roman architechture continued into the entry room. Those columns were way too opulent for a stark school room. That girl's dress was way too short. Nico jumped from thought to thought, doing everything to avoid thinking about the life left behind in Athens. He would rather not think about such things. But like when someone tellls you not to think about elephants, the idea just keeps popping up. The accidents. The strange night he had abandoned Maia. The outbursts of power. The arrest by the Hellenic Police...the buzzed around his mind like flies, one he wished would go away but just coming back. But this school said it would make it better. They would 'help' him, they said, and despite Nico's pessimistic nature, he wanted to believe them. And so, he had come. He could tell, all ready, by the choice of decor, the buildings he had seen, that this was going to be a interesting year. He was- "Welcome, students!" A voice interrupted Nico's musing, and Nico turned to find the source of the voice. He saw a man standing on a podium at the far end of the room. Nico gasped slightly as he saw the man. That man was Titus Krano, as Nico recognized from the school website picture, which he had looked up when he got the letter. And he...was overpowering. An aura possessed around the man, filling the room with a overwhelming power. Nico heard muttering around him as other students felt the power too. "Welcome to Elysian Preparatory School." The man said. "I am Titus Krano, your principal. I will be your guide, per se, through your time in the School, as we call it. You are all very special, and I must congratulate you for even making it into the School. I know you have had...strange...abilities pop up in one way or another throughout your life. Here, at Elysian Prep, we help you deal with them." A shark-like smile descended on Principal Krano's face. "Now, our counselors will guide you to your dorm rooms. Lessons will begin in the morning, and schedules will be given to you by your counselor. That is all." And then Titus turned away, disappearing as soon as he left the podium, the overpowering aura going with him. Muttering immediately descended on the crowd. The principal's speech had certainly been...attention-grabbing. And that talk about strange abilities... This was definitely going to be an interesting year. ((Just talk about how you got to the School and stuff if you don't know how to reply.))
Navras
Godrick was utterly unimpressed with his principle. He stood in the crowd, hands in his jean pockets, hood still up from when he had been out in the rain. As his new principle left, he snorted, turned and walked away from the scene. He could find his own way to his dorm. As he turned away from the crowd, his cape accidentally hit one of the new students. He looked back at them but didn't say anything, nor did he wait very long for a response. On seeing that the person he hat hit wasn't hurt in anyway, he turned and began walking away once more. "Hey!" the person shouted, the one Godrick had accidentally it. Godrick didn't turn around again though. He continued to walk on. He continued to walk until the student he had accidentally bumped into grabbed his shoulder and made him stop. "You just hit me and you're not even-" the student began. He got no further. Godrick reached up and placed his hand on the student's wrist, instantly changing the student's hand from flesh to bone, or so it appeared. "Look," Godrick said. "I've had a really, really hard time just getting to this school. I've traveled through fire and water, something I bet you know little about." The student tried to pull his hand away from Godrick's, but Godrick held on even more tightly than he had before. "I'm going to go to my dorm, get a good night sleep, wake up late in the morning, and then go to class. I suggest you do something similar." Godrick let go of the student's hand (turning it's appearance back to flesh), put his own back in his pockets, and began walking away once more. Once he had started walking away, he thought to himself, 'Smashing way to start off the school year. I had a hard enough time getting here as it was, then that person had to antagonize me for an accident...' Godrick sighed and headed to the main right side door of the entrance hall. He planned on finding someplace to hide for a while, maybe fall asleep there, and get his bearings in the morning, that is assuming he ran into no one else. He took his hood down and shook the few little rain droplets from his hair. He looked around and saw that he was in a hallway. He decided that taking a left would be good enough for him, so he did, not really caring where he ended up.
ArtemisFowl
Jecht had rode a rented motorboat to the small island where the school was located. He had a hoodie on to shield himself from the rain. Once he got into the school he removed his hoodie and straightened his hair. He got there in time to hear the principal talk. Once again he mentioned these "abilites" He looked around to find his "counselor" that would show him to his dorm and give him his schedule. His mind turned to who he would be rooming with for this year. He would just have to hope they'd get along. Jecht didn't feel like spending the entire year fighting. He had his headphones in from habit, even they weren't on. He saw a group of students following one person. He decided he'd follow along and just hope that it was where he was supposed to be. Spartan919
Jerome had managed to hitch a ride with a local fisherman who happened to be going to Ithaca, or so the fisherman said. Jerome's foster family hadn't had enough money to get him to the island; they had barely had enough to get him to Greece. I wonder how I'll ever get back home, he thought sullenly. Reaching up, he swiped a hand through his ginger hair, a nervous habit he assumed he picked up from his father. The ride on the fishing boat hadn't been exactly paradise, but it sure it beat swimming. Now he was standing with a group of children, one of whom had a cape, he saw. Probably a pompous jerk, he thought, though he knew nothing about the kid. Capes just reminded him of villains. Looking around, Jerome saw that they were all following an adult, no doubt taking them to their dormitories. He sighed; not here five minutes, and he had been whisked away to another location. I'll never get any time to read, will I? He shook his head. He had no right to think mutinous thoughts. He saw another kid, with headphones, and wondered what he was like. There was another kid, studying the place like some architect. This is gonna be a blast of a year, isn't it? he thought sarcastically. CrystalCyae
Emily looked boredly out the window of the plane, counting the raindrops as the pattered gently against the thick glass, if only to pass the time. "SO boring!" She muttered fiercely, peering down at the raging sea below, then at the angry thunderclouds above. Every lightning blot shone, lighting the dark sky up with it's shining light, each wave tore at the coastline as if trying to rip it shreds. "I hope the storm is over soon." She muttered slowly. She perked up. "I can't wait to get there!" Later, Emily walked cheerfully into the school, buzzing with exitement. "Finally here!" She beamed. Glancing around, she noticed the fine, ancient decor. Shee was goind to reach a slim hand into her bag to grab her book on ancient history, if only to see if any of these items bore true ancient resemblance, when she was stopped by a loud, booming voice. Reaching her hand back down, she glanced upwards at a podium set somewhere near the centre of the room. A large man stood there, the principal, by the looks of things. He gave a rather attention grabbing speach, and especially one bit interested Emily. "Strange abilities...... Why am I here then?" She wondered. Navras
Godrick looked around at all of the cool little things that could be looked at. The paintings of ancient people and gods of the ceiling, the amazing architecture that depicted plants on the walls and pillars, The different kinds of armors from all over the world. He stopped in front of one painting. He looked down at the description and saw only one word. "Achilles". He looked back up at the painting and saw the greatest warrior that ever was standing with his spear and shield in hand over flags that were unfamiliar to him and crowns at his feet. This was extremely interesting to him, he wasn't very well sure why. He turned away from the painting and walked on, choosing now to admire the architecture again. "Now there's a job I could stand having," he said to himself, knowing that he was alone. "Architecture... yeah, I could do that if this caves in on itself." Quiksilver
"Me syncho̱reÃte, ti káneis edó̱? Af̱tó to cho̱l eÃnai ektós orÃo̱n!" A loud voice suddenly cried out behind Godrick. A African American girl, maybe 16 or 17 or so, stepped into view, looking as cross as a London schoolteacher. She stepped up to Godrick, her school uniform swishing behind her as she crossed the distance from the room she had just left up to Godrick. She yelled at him some more in Greek before finally realizing Godrick did not speak it. Haltingly, she switched into English. "What are you doing here, freshie?" She demanded, a thick accent cloaking her voice. "This corridor is off-limits to anyone not a counselor! Get back to the entrance hall, please! Or..." The young woman's eyes seemed to glow red. "...I'll make you." *** "All freshmen with the words of Hercules Dorm printed on their admittance card, please come over here." A deep voice shouted over the din of the entrance hall, and heads turned. A young man, maybe 17 but looking 25 with his huge build, had entered the room. He had the face of a Neanderthal, with short black hair, stubby features, and bright green eyes, but he was but a counselor- as could be seen by the blue school uniform he was wearing. Nico looked down at the entrance card he had received, and saw that he had Hercules Dorm printed on his card. Shrugging slightly, he joined the surging crowd and formed a crowd around the man. "Is this all of you?" The counselor asked, and continued without waiting for an answer, "Well, we'll find that out shortly. My name is Dimitri Michaelides, and I am the counselor of Hercules Dorm. Now, I need to take attendence. Is...Emily Datsuyo here?"
CrystalCyae
Emily glanced at her adimitance card, and saw it had Hercules Dorm printed on it. Glancing around, she briefly saw evryone heading in a certain direction. Shrugging, not sure, she walked forward, struggling through the surging crowd. It was harder than she thought; Like fighting hundreds of people. Finally, though, she found herself at her designated area, noticing others with admittance cards saying Hercules Dorm as well. Hearing her name called out for attendance, she stood up slightly taller. "Here!" She called.
ArtemisFowl
Jecht wasn't really happy about coming to this new school to "help" him. He liked his old school. Nobody really messed with him there. Now he would have to put up with some roommate. He glanced at his card. Hercules Dorm. He heard someone said with a deep, gruff voice, for Hercules Dorm to follow him. Jecht heard his name called and called out "Here!" and returned to looking around at the place he'd spend the next year at. The tall white collums, the great detail put into each and every piece of pottery. Jecht though it look more like a monument, or museum possibly. Nothing like a school. He moved his hair out of his eyes and continued to examine his new surroundings, waiting for the attendance to be finished with. Some things looked absolutly ancient, as if a single touch would destroy it.
Navras
Godrick looked over at the dark skined woman headed his way yelling at him for not being in the front hall. He didn't like it. Not so much that she was yelling at him, but that she had interupted his train of thought. When he noticed that she said the word 'counselor', he assumed she was a teacher. Judging by her age, she was as new as he was if not a little bit older, and judging by the look in her now red eyes, she had a firy temper. "Look, lady," Godrick began, "with all due respect, you don't scare me, so you can cut the flaming eye act. As for my being here, I got lost. I was separated from some of my friends and was trying to look for them. I heard you mention the word counselor, this makes me assume that you're a teacher of some sort. So, while I'm not afraid of a single teacher here yet, I'll accept your request without another word and head back to the front hall." Godrick bowed tot he counselor, fanning out his cape as he did so, turned on his heel and began walking away in the oposite direction. "And by the way," he called back. "Thanks for that warm welcome."
Quiksilver
The African woman did not say anything to Godrick as he turned and left, just watched him slowly with her bloodred eyes, which were, in fact, not a illusion. "Be careful...Godrick Spitz." Then the woman turned on her heel, just like the child who had passed before her eyes had done seconds ago, and then she left. But she had left for a rather different reason...to tell the principal of the kid who had trespassed into the top-secret corridor of Elysian Prep. *** "Alright, all we're missing in a couple of students," Dimitri said, noting one name not checked off on his list. Godrick Spitz. He made a little note by the name, then turned back to the crowd of students. "Well, if you'll follow me, I'll lead you to Hercules Dorm. Oh!" Dimitri had turned to leave, but then he turned back. "Before I forget, here are your guys' schedules. Here, if you three could help me pass them out..." One by one, the schedules found their way into the students hands, and Nicodemus Cole looked down at his schedule. Math, science, literature, the usual...and one odd one. Mythology? Nico glanced at the schedule of the person nearest him, a girl with blue eyes, streaked with purple, and black, spiky hair. It had Mythology on it too! "Weird." Nico said in English, forgetting to speak in Greek like he usually did. Being raised in a bed-and-breakfast by a woman who firmly believed the servants should speak the languages of their tourist customers had given Nico a talent of tongues. "I wonder why we all are studying mythology?"
CrystalCyae
(OOC: Silver, my EYES are blue with a streak. My hair is black and spiky. Change that.) Emily took the schedule, and glanced down at it. "So, all the usual subjects....Literature, Science, blah blah blah." She glanced at the final subject on her schedule. "Mythology? What the...... I've heard of history lessons where they talk about legends, but not of a Mythology lesson." She wondered. "Why would we be doing Mythology here at Elysian Prep? All it is a bunch of legends and myths, and some of those great heroes who are considered godly. I hardly see how that is relevant in the modern world." Navras
"Man, I've only been less than an hour and I'm already making friends," Godrick said to himself as he headed down the rightside hallway he now felt he should have made earlier. He had no intention of going back to the front hall with all the other students. On the contrary, he was going to find a class room to go in and sleep in there for the night; consequnces be damned. When he reached the end of his current hallway, he took a left and headed down another. Down this hallway were a bunch of doors, some on the left, some on the right. He walked over to the first door to his right and opened it. Inside he saw some desks and chairs scattered about here and there. He immedeatly assumed this was either a class room or a janitor's closet. He didn't care either way. H walked inside and closed the door behind him. This made the room pitch black; perfect sleeping conditions. He felt his way over to the first table he cound find and hopped on top of it. He took off his cape, layed down, and drapped it over himself to use as a blanket. Within minutes he was asleep.
Spartan919
Jerome listened to the girl next to him, Emily, he remembered, rant about mythology. He himself was also perplexed. Why would they study mythology? He wondered, sometimes, if all that was real, but it was mostly dreams, wishes, and imaginings. Not to mention I've got this bag full of mythology stuff. Jerome had spent most of his free time reading the books in his bag, or writing in the journal. He knew a massive amount about Greek mythology, but was always willing to know more. The bag, and all the books inside, including the journal, had been a gift from his parents; he loved it dearly. He turned to Emily. "Who knows why they want us to study mythology? Is it really our place to tell them what to teach us?"
Quiksilver
OoC: Sorry, Obsidian, but I'm typing on my phone so I can't alter my post just yet. I'll do it later, tho. IC: "I dunno." Said Nico quizzically, responding to both the boy and the girl. He felt weird talking in English, but he doubted his two companions spoke Greek. "But I have a weird feeling we'll find out." "Y'know, what I hear is that this school is a bit of a strange place." A new voice suddenly cut in. A girl around their age, petite and slim, had suddenly stepped up to the group. Short, light brown hair surrounded her face, and the girl swept it back as she spoke again. " I wouldn't mind taking a look around, myself. Oh, I haven't introduced myself. Roxanne Navarro, at your service." She grinned and held out her hand. "Hey, by the way, do any of youu know who Emily Datsuyo is?"
ArtemisFowl
Jecht was handed his scedule by another student, who he watched for a second as he continued to pass them out. He wondered how he knew which person to pass them out to. He could've only heard his name once when the attendance was called and Jecht responded. But his mind didn't stay on that subject for long. Jecht looked down at his schedule and just breifly glanced through it. Although something did catch his eye. "Mythology?" He muttered aloud. What kind of class is that? He thought to himself. Jecht was puzzled for the moment then he wondered who he'd room with for the rest of his stay at this tiny island.

Spartan919
Jerome nodded, only half listening to what the boy, Nico, said. At least we all seem to be on the same boat here. Wonder if anyone else has as little money...no. Those are stupid thoughts. He shook his head, then noticed that another girl had come up. More students? I thought we were all the new ones. Curious how she had just appeared, he was about to ask, when she spoke. He listened quietly, nodding as she mentioned the "strange place." From what he had seen so far, the girl, Roxanne she said her name was, was right. This place was no normal high school. He looked at Nico, then back at Roxanne, then at the others, especially Emily. She interested him; though he couldn't say why. He turned back to Nico. "So, any idea who you're rooming with?"
