Anbu-of-Sand
@paradise: no topic cept maybe going back to the orginal template for YCM, i always kinda liked it
That most likely won't happen, seeing YCMaker spent a few hundreds I believe to do the switch. Besides, majority of YCM has already moved on from the old YCM, while a few are still begging, hoping, etc. that YCMaker will change it back to the original Server / Format / Whatever, but once again, which will most likely not happen. Anti-Apocryphal
This is a joke, right? YCMaker spent $100+ to get this fancy new board, plus more spending on different layouts/apps. This won't change, probably not as long as he lives. Daft Innovation
This new forum gives YCM a modern feel, therefore making it step up to the next level of internet expectations. .Starrk
I believe the Realistic Cards forum needs to be reformed, because most of the new members that post their cards, need to read the rules and OCG thread first. This is overlooked, being that most of their cards get low ratings and criticized due to lack of OCG correctness and effects.

But I don't think Realistic Cards needs to be reformed fully, perhaps maybe a new Sub-Forum for Custom Cards for new members to post their cards, named "Beginner Cards" or something. And the OCG thread should be stickied in Realistic Cards Forum, just saying. Otherwise, I think Realistic Cards is doing just fine.

I think it would be easier for the new members to get accustomed to YCM. When they think they are ready for a card to get rated and criticized, then they would post it in Realistic cards. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
AOC, Finished Sets, and 1on1's all need more help than RC. Everyone just throws every card they make into RC because they know the other forums are dead. Also it is so hard to get feedback (votes in 1on1's case), unless the cards are terrible, then everyone is pretty swift to put the boot in. This is one of the most un-appealing things I find with this forum. People have to offer reps as bribes ffs! How we're supposed to change user's attitudes is beyond me though. FTW (For The Wynn)
Sorry, I've been inactive here for way too long. Anyway, here are the places I think need improving in order from greatest to least: 1. TCG/Your Deck: The new addition of a Mod has been a godsend there and Sephiroth does a fairly good job, but threads like this show just how much work is necessary there. 2. 1v1s/Contest Section: Without an actual Mod, that place has been shambles. Most of the 1v1s are weak and only a few people vote there. It just isn't that good at the moment. Hopefully they'll let Smesh or someone else become the Mod there, but it needs work now. 3. Realistic: It isn't too bad in there, except for the spammers and the occasional troll. Still could use improvement though 4. Role Play: I don't go there, but I hear that a lot of people are unhappy with the quality and the lack of good RPers. 5. Clubs/Organizations: I know Opalmoon is the new Mod there and she is doing a good job as far as I know, but this place will probably always need work. Anbu-of-Sand
Smesh is somewhat considered "DA MAN OF 1V1'S", most likely because him being one of the most active in that section.
FTW (For The Wynn)
Thanks Matt. Anyway, I do it because I think he would be decent as a mod there, but I said hopefully as well. I realize that chances are slim for YCMaker to appoint another mod after having already done so for Sephiroth. Also, yes, most of them do come down to the quality of the user. However, aside from the trolls, flamers and spammers most of the site is pretty good (albeit inactive). I've seen TCG and Your Deck have very good discussions before that weren't ruined by trolls. Realistic when active is a great place overall. That's just how it seems to be all over.
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I'm still (relatively) new to this, but since when has been a good cardmaker counted for anything in becoming a mod? I don't think I've ever seen a card made by Opal, Yin, Frunk, Glasstin, Sephiroth (who I'm very happy he got modship) and numerous others. Speaking off Glasstin can't we demote some of the 'current' staff already? We have 25 mods, but at least 10 of them haven't been online since the summer, and 2 are obviously hackers (mods with minimal post counts). This isn't a major gripe, just think it's a bit of house-keeping that can be sorted in ten minutes. I'm sure Opal could answer any queries on modship (if she's not sworn to secrecy that is ) Back on topic of discussing sections, I think a lot of avoidable user problems come from people not reading the rules and tuts. Is there someway to force them to be read as terms of agreement when you sign up/log in for the first time? I'd write my own guide to YCM, but I know no newbie's would ever read it. Anti-Apocryphal
Honestly, I think Smesh should be the newest 1 v. 1 moderator. There's no one else who really take cares of it, and he really wants to. I say we hold a vote. A vote for who wants Smesh as next 1 v. 1 moderator. He can't do it by himself, but with all of YCM- he can. Who agrees?
