Honestly, I think Smesh should be the newest 1 v. 1 moderator.
There's no one else who really take cares of it, and he really wants to.

I say we hold a vote.
A vote for who wants Smesh as next 1 v. 1 moderator.
He can't do it by himself, but with all of YCM- he can.
Who agrees?
No matter how badly I want to agree, I cannot.

JoshIcy has said a couple of times, to become a mod of just one part of Custom Cards, you must be a mod for all the Sections, which means you must be active / looking out on all the sections. And no offense to Smesh, but he only hangs out in Realistic Cards and the Contests Cards by the looks of it. Even I don't fill the requirements to become a Custom Cards mod, no matter how badly I want to, seeing I only hang out in the Realistic Cards part.

If we really do need a mod, it wouldn't be just for the Contests Cards, it should be a mod that is active all around the Custom Cards Forum. I believe the only person fitting for the job (off of the top of my head) is I think Lovely C.C, but I believe she and JoshIcy already had a conversation of her being a mod, and I think ending that it would not happen, not really sure on that part why though.

I agree with that, Smesh would do really good as a mod for the 1 on 1s section.

I'm still (relatively) new to this, but since when has been a good cardmaker counted for anything in becoming a mod?

I don't think I've ever seen a card made by Opal, Yin, Frunk, Glasstin, Sephiroth (who I'm very happy he got modship) and numerous others.

Opal is music/clubs mod. Frunk and Glasstin are General mods. Sephiroth is TCG mod. They didn't need to be good at cardmaking to mod those forums. You just need to have good knowledge of what forum you're modding.

Speaking off Glasstin can't we demote some of the 'current' staff already? We have 25 mods, but at least 10 of them haven't been online since the summer, and 2 are obviously hackers (mods with minimal post counts). This isn't a major gripe, just think it's a bit of house-keeping that can be sorted in ten minutes.

I'm sure Opal could answer any queries on modship (if she's not sworn to secrecy that is  )

Opal has agreed a mod clean up would be good, except that YCMaker is really slow at doing stuff.

Back on topic of discussing sections, I think a lot of avoidable user problems come from people not reading the rules and tuts. Is there someway to force them to be read as terms of agreement when you sign up/log in for the first time?

It was suggested, but I don't know what happened to it. I think they should be aware that there are rules and they need to read them. Let them learn on their own.

Except that's just what JoshIcy has to say, and he's not all-powerful.
He's just a regular moderator.
However, the Super Moderators could step in and say something about it.
So I still think we should hold a vote about it.
JoshIcy is a moderator of all of CC. He might not be powerful in the other forums, but he is powerful in CC. Also, voting won't do anything. It's really up to the mods' decisions.

I agree that the Custom Cards section may need another moderator, simply because Josh can't be online all the time and does have a lot going on in his life. But it has to be for the whole section, not just one sub section, let alone a sub section of a sub section.

How many people go in all five sections? I admit I only occasionally go into AOC cards, I don't think I've ever been to the Written Cards section.

I also question, and it may be very small minded of me, Smesh being fourteen. There may be nothing in it, but it just nags at me.

Anyway there is no point debating this, Josh has made it clear numerous times he doesn't regard Smesh as mod material, and he's a bugger to get to change his mind.

Yes, it is up to the mods' decision.
But I don't think you get what I'm saying.

If the mods' get enough attention from YCM about a new CC Mod, then they might consider it, and put Smech as one.

YCMthopology got a lot of mod attention(Opal,Icy,Flame Dragon, MarbleZone, and I think there was more...). We even sent a message to YCMaker about mod problems, and we got a reply asking for suggestions; and we replied to that. What happened then? Nothing.

I'm a good friend of Smesh and he's more than deserving to get that position, but Icy has a point.

The 1 v 1 section is not the most active of sections. Sure, it would be great with him handling a sub-section, but wouldn't it be an easy job for Smesh? Why not just get total control over the Contest section, let alone the whole CC forum?

In my opinion, I think it is somewhat dumb for someone who wants to be a Mod for a certain part of Custom Cards, must be a Mod / active all around Custom Cards as a whole. This puts many people for example Smesh, who would make a pretty good Mod not being able to fulfill requirements because he is only active in Card Contests and Realistic Cards, I am not sure if he is also active in the other 2 parts of Custom Cards as well. Having to be active / good in all parts of Custom Cards to be a Mod for Custom Cards seems just....unneeded. Especially if you fulfill the requirements fully except for the whole active in all parts of Custom Cards part.

@Twig- I must had overlooked it.
@above posts- Well then, I guess that debate is out of the window. Smesh won't be nominated for CC Moderator.

The next idea I had was just getting rid of the reputation system. I know, people want it gone, but only YCMaker can get rid of it. Again, if we debate and it seems reasonable, we'll vote and hope to pass it.

I like the new Rep System to be honest. It's more faster and versatile. Only reason why people don't like it is they have to watch their posts closely to see where they got that negative / positive rep. I've seen lots of people saying that they had a tab for this on their profiles (current YCM), but then it just -poof- and is now gone. I never recall having it though in the first place >.> But yeah, no support on changing the reputation system. It's as fine as it is.

I know that a lot of people hate the new rep system for that reson alone, they have to search for where it came from.
It's either delete the system or make something to where we can view the post where we got the rep/neg.
Like before, we did have a Reputation Tab on our profile to view where we got Negative / Positive Reps. But then one day, I think when the current YCM was being a bit faulty here and there, it just, disappeared. Only way to get it back is consulting Falling Pizza / YCMaker about it, since they most likely would be the ones that know why it disappeared / why they made it disappear if they did.

Everybody keeps saying 'Smesh' would be a good moderator, but nobody seems willing to say why...

Other than 'because he is DA MAN of 1on1's'...

Is 21 Guns ever online anymore?

Anyway, irrelevant argument is irrelevant.

Moving on, I like the rep system. It is a nice symbol that your work is liked/respected or whatever.

I believe that initially the rep history disappeared by accident during a break-down, but the admin have been unable/too lazy to re-install it.

I have had warning levels that have lasted for 4 months.
I have a 10% Warning Level that has been there for 4 months as well. It's not much, but it's annoying as hell to see that one, small, little piece of the bar taken up just for "The failure to follow instructions". It's just....stupid >.>

If they'll listen.
Some are too stubborn &'ll give you some lame excuse.
Go get Yankee or Roxas.

And even though some people are scared to do it, if you have a problem with YCM, you should probably tell Crab. She's like on strike with YCM.

But only for big things.

Usually if you ask the mods and remind them that the warning has been there for half a year, they understand what you mean and put it away.
It's one of the downsides of IPB, it wasn't like that on myBB. We know that warnings aren't permanent unless you did something really bad, but most of us forget to remove it after the time. You don't look at the profile of the people you warned everyday so it's hard to remember. Plus I tend to have short-memory term so that doesn't help. :P
