YCM Member ID

After getting a clear understanding of what they are and used for I think that it could be a great YCM concept. So here goes..............................

[b]What Are They?[/b]
A Member I.D. is a 100x100 image that is used to represent yourself in a GFX type community. It is a [u]very[/u] new concept that I have no clue as to its origin. IDs have a set of rules in which they are ALWAYS 100x100, containing your name/nickname, and never used as an avatar.

[b]What Do They Look Like?[/b]
The only set definition on appearance is the 100x100 size and it must contain your name....anything else is fair game.

[b]Purpose?[/b]
Besides showing off your ID you give to other members via threads...by saying something along the line of "amazing art, flawless, ID'd. *insert pic of your ID*" (of course you still CnC). When a member gets "ID'd" they put the other members ID into their sig, linking it back to the post in which it was awarded. (to prevent liars) The more IDs one collects the bigger reputation (and ego) they get...but this also means they are respected by various members as being "good".

[b]Fun?[/b]
Not only does this let you know you're awesome but its just another item for you to sell in shops. Just another goal I suppose. ;D

[b]Problems?[/b]
The only observable problem is that members change their IDs so it must be documented for how long you held said ID.

Now I (as 'Artisan) would ID Legend Zero by stating "ID'd" and posting a picture of my ID. Now Legend Zero (the sexy member he is) would add it to his signature linking back to the post. While underneath the ID is written..

Hopefully this idea can catch on so new members will know who actually knows what and who's a phony. Respect can be given and its better than the rep system now, imo. Side effect may include elitism. Anyway after a long rant here is my proto-type ID (probably will stay for awhile)

Remember the Halloween thing the mods did last year? Where you collected their stamps? This is practically the same concept but you don't [i]try[/i] to get others IDs, you simply earn them through being a "good" GFXer.

Actually, I DO get it. It's pretty interesting concept and I pretty like it.
As I know, YCMaker never (mostly never) replies to PMs.
It's a nice concept but I'm not so sure will it work.

I don't really need YCMaker's approval since its just the use of our sig space. =/

To get it implemented in the WHOLE FORUM would be a lot bigger hassle than I'm going for.

I added a supporters section, but the only way to [i]really[/i] support it is to have us few (by us I mean those who've posted so far) start using it.

You post your ID in Showcase for review (it is art after all) but then you keep your own in your sig so people can figure out when you change.
