How I Met Your Mother

First three seasons are streets ahead.

Fourth season is kind of flimsy, but it has it's moments.

Fifth season is garbage, pure and simple. Twenty four straight episodes of terrible writing.

Sixth season is kind of bringing the show back, but considering last weeks episode it could still go either way.

... How I Met Your Mother. The framing device is it takes place in 2030, with a grown up Ted Moesby (played by Bob Saget's voice) telling his kids the story of... how he met their mother. It is an incredibly long story.

The main action of the story takes place in the present, starting in 2005 (when the show premiered), and introduces us to Ted Moesby (played by some guy who's not Bob Saget) and the story goes from there. We meet Ted's other friends, including Marshal, Lily (Marshal's girlfriend and later on wife), Robin (the girl Ted liked for a while), and the awesome Barney Stinson.

I'd recommend the first 3 seasons, and probably just stop there. Pretend that...
Dr. Elliott Reid ended up marrying Ted after the season and they then had 2 kids. Spare yourself the rest of the series.
.... Dear God, at first I thought the worng Ted >_< The Lawyer one...

Still, I love this show. 2.5 Men, Big Bang, Rules of Engagement, Scrubs, Cougar Town, and $#*+ My dad syays are all superior, though.

Well...
I'm saying for anyone looking into the series, pretend that it ends after the 3rd season, where Ted proposes to Stella and pretend they get happily married and have kids. Since I keep saying "pretend" here, it's a spoiler because it tells you that, in fact, Ted and Stella do NOT get married.
But yeah, the fourth and fifth season were really bad.
