Krillin!
You know what... Everyone says Naruto is way overrated. I agree. That doesn't mean that it's not a good series, however. I personally love Naruto, and DBZ! But I think DBZ has better characters, Naruto has a better plot(just barely), and with attacks both series pwn. (NATURALLY, I HAVE A TIE IN MY OPINION) You guys break the tie. Which is better?
Tentacruel
Dragonball Z is actually more overrated than Naruto.
DARKPLANT RISING
Dragonball did the thing all battle stories shouldn't do at any cost, according to many pro plot writers. It was to make every single character overpowered so that the more the story goes on, the enemy becomes a hundred times stronger. If you think logically, using science and math, Freeza has the ability to destroy the world - which goes against laws of the world. Naruto did basicaly the same thing, except in a barely more balanced matter. Apart from that, it had a slightly better plot. So Naruto. Then again, I don't like either. But for some reason he doesn't.
Freeza? A planet? No. My above post was based on a real report for a book a particular scientist of Japan made for fun. It says that the "sentouryoku" points of a DB character isn't in the normal decimal base system we normally use, after doing some complicated math, thinking of how (i) the combined powers of all mankind were stronger than Buu, and (ii) Kame-Sennin desroyed the Moon. If it's in decimal base, twenty normal people combined can destroy the Moon (which, of course, is near impossible - therefore making decimal base a no-no in this matter). According to the data, if you want the logic that destroyed Buu to be true, it has to be so that a fully charged Freeza can wipe out the whole universe of right now and unleash the power of a thousand Big Bangs (or more, I think. Not sure). Having defeated him, Goku... you don't want to start on him, right? Well, some Japanese scientists are really "fun". They actually used normal logic on an action manga. Ghoulish
based on the fact he was from DBZ? but then again it was never stated so it can't be said, you can say Veggeta when he fought Goku on Earth that he could have destryed the world because he said it. Hmmm, it's a tough one my growing up favourite show was DBZ, the whole Vegeta vs Goku rivalry was a big hit for me, the plots weren't bad and the villains were awesome, also the movies were great, i think for an anime to watch for shear enjoyment is easily DBZ won, however i love Naruto now and although "over rated" it is still a great anime/manga with plenty to offer as shown in the last chapter, so for a more serious aniem id vote that so im kinda like u in a tie. Krillin!
Ok Ok. But let's talk attacks. Many of the most powerful DBZ attacks are just beams. Naruto attacks have a lot of diversity.

If I have to choose between which is better, I would definately pick Naruto. But the whole story of DBZ is based on the train-and-win method, so the writer doesn't really care about the attacks much. Grunt Issun
DBZ wins, better plot in my oppinion, I like the style better, 10x more awsome attacks, and besides The beams are all pretty much differant somehow, like the angry kamehameha is yellow and fired from one hand... Krillin!
Still in a fight between Super Saiya-jin vs Ninetailed Naruto, I use to think Naruto, but now Goku/Vegeta would win, depending on which one was fighting.

Ghoulish
dbz when compared to dbz isn't overpowered, basically dbz vs dbz character = quite a balanced fight however take bleach for example, bleach character vs bleach character = 1 is Op'd to them max You can't verse DBZ against any other anime because the characters are above superhuman in every dimension of fighting, they far exceed any other anime abilities, so from the start its not a fair fight. The powers of DBZ characters are widely ranged, it's just that they don't fight if they're so. Apart from that, I believe that power balance against the world is also a must in manga or anime. Darth Duelist
WTH! I can't believe DBZ is winning. What happened to all you Naruto fans with Naruto sigz and all that stuff??? I'm not a Naruto addict, but I just like it better cause I actually no what it's about, unlike DBZ. I saw this episode where this guy, (I think it was Goku, he had blonde hair) shot this big ball of fire thing at his enemy and actually flew.. Krillin!
You would have to use Rasengan vs. Kamehameha because they are both Signature Moves. Still.... DBZ Had some good moves like SOLAR FLARE That thing Vegeta did on Planet Namek when he shaped his hand like a gun, said "Bang" and shot someone. Spirit Ball Kaio-ken Spirit Bomb Time Freeze
