CHAPTER 1: DAWN

The Creator and thy sins,
Whose hands tainted the pure,
Whose blade ended innocence,
Whose unholy thoughts burdened the world,
Whose seed must be cut down,
The Creator and thy sins,
Must thee live among us?

In the early dawn at Hishirimi Temple, Ryunosuke was in his room sleeping quite soundly. His loud snores could be heard in the neighboring rooms. ".... No need to thank me.... No I'm no hero.... I'm only fulfilling my duty...." Ryunosuke muttered in his state of deep sleep. It was apparent that Ryunosuke was full of himself although he is considered to be the worst apprentice samurai at the temple. He was even given a nickname, "The Boy with No Talent". Even so, Ryunosuke was determined to prove himself a great samurai to everybody. The higher ranking samurai at the temple were up early to ring the bells, signaling the apprentice samurai to wake up and head to the dining hall for breakfast. *GONG!!!!* The sound of the large temple bells were explosive in a sense. It spread through the temple, alerting all to wake up.

Upon hearing the loud noise, Ryunosuke jumped up into the air out of surprise, finally landing on his futon, the traditional bed in Japan and especially for the samurai at Hisihirimi Temple. Times were slowly changing as the Western culture became more popular. "Man.... I can never get used to those damn bells.... They're so loud and annoying.... *YAWN* Alright, time to get some breakfast...." Ryunosuke stood up and did a couple of stretches before finally getting dressed in his everyday attire. His haori was something of pride for Ryunosuke as it was found with him as a child. To Ryunosuke, his treasured haori was a memento that reminded him of the parents he'd never met.

Ryunosuke then walked over to a mirror and looked at himself through it. Ryunosuke gave a confident smile as he tied his haori together with his sash. "Alright, today I'm going to train harder than yesterday. Today is the day where I'm going to finally pass the written exam then the mission exam so that I can finally rank up and become a full-fledge samurai!" Ryunosuke said as he dramatically held his fist in the air. Ryunosuke then exited his room. His room was a bit special then the others due to the fact that it had a back door leading to a miniature garden owned by a local samurai who Ryunosuke looks up to. This route made it easier for Ryunosuke to get to the dining hall and to get his breakfast first.

Ryunosuke had a carefree look on his face as he headed for the dining hall, however, after just taking a couple of steps, Ryunosuke's left foot hit a hard rock and Ryunosuke fell face-first towards the ground. "Mmmm...." Ryunosuke muffled as his face was firmly planted on the ground. A couple of apprentice samurai passed by using Ryunosuke's route. This wasn't so surprising for Ryunosuke as some of the apprentice samurai in the boys' dorm area used this path often in the morning and late in the evening. It didn't seemed to bother Ryunosuke that much. As they passed Ryunosuke, they started laughing.

It could be easily detected that these boys are in the Asaiken House, the lowest of the three houses, as they used the self-titled "Ryun-Route". Ryunosuke stood up and looked at the three boys with annoyance but then just continued to walk with his arms cross and his face making an irritated expression.

Taiki Woke up Drowsily to the Gonging of the bells.
"*Yawn *sigh another typical day...YOGA TIME!"
Taiki then Ventured out to the Forest Stretching and Strengthening his muscles for the day ahead.
"*sigh hmm I'm bored...and Hungry!" Taiki then Skipped Merrily toward the Mess Hall along the way he saw Ryunosuke.
"Hey sup dude oh watcha ticked about?"

Ryunosuke was caught off guard by surprise when Taiki, whose room is pretty close to Ryunosuke room. Ryunosuke and Taiki are actually pretty good friends due to them being in the Asaiken House. However, the difference between them is, Taiki actually has talent when it comes to being an apprentice samurai. Ryunosuke slightly tripped as he was caught off guard, but quickly regained his footing. "HEY HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOT TO SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT TAIKI!" Ryunosuke yelled in an annoyed tone, but Taiki knew that this was just a part of Ryunosuke's personality. Ryunosuke then crossed his arms again and continued walking. "Well if you must know what's getting me angry it's that I tripped through the tiny garden behind the back door, and then these three apprentice samurai from the Asaiken House starts laughing at me when they walk by. I mean I just tripped, why do they make such a big deal out of these things huh?!" Ryunosuke asked angrily.

"*Sigh* Anyways.... You just got back from Dusk Forest again huh? You know you should be careful about going there. I heard some rumors that tsumimono are starting to appear there, and that place will be infested to the brim with sin energy. You know you're already cursed with sin energy so you shouldn't go to those places too much." Ryunosuke was one of the few people in the temple who knows about Taiki's condition, a testament to their friendship. "By the way, a month has almost passed hmm? You need to give the temple priest a visit to cleanse you before you-know-what happens.... You might transform into a tsumimono yourself...." Ryunosuke said eerily as he put on a creepy yet comical expression.

Minako shifted in her futon a couple times before the gong finally forced her to awaken. She stretched on the bed from her toes up to her head, and made her way off. Sleep was still in her eyes, but she ignored it. As a samurai, she'd need to wake up at any time of the day; studying late into the night was no excuse, she knew, and she wouldn't book anyone taking it as an excuse.

She did up her multiple kimonos as much as she could, though she knew the day was likely to be warm and so left the outermost undone. Samurai were expected to hold themselves with dignity and honor, but a dress code was not strictly needed for regular training; she could get away with wearing her clothing a bit more casually than usual, and only tying her hair into a rough bundle behind her back.

Her rooms were rather spacious for an apprentice, which was to say she actually had any space at all. Konken House wasn't significantly better than the other two houses, but it did have more room to spare, and the gardens were far more elaborate. They ate perhaps a little more variety, but that was the extent of the fringe benefits. Minako knew this was for a reason; while the Konken house members were more skilled, more able, and more driven than either of the other two houses, they needed to learn humility. That they wouldn't always be better than everyone else.

It was a difficult lesson for a nobleborn like her to learn.

She picked up her Yumi as she left, following the other Konken students until they mingled with the stream of those from others. She offered generic greetings to everyone who recognized her, but payed them little mind in general as she hurried to her first lesson.

Isamu lay perfectly still as the bells rang loudly through his room, he sat up quickly on his cot that he had made on the floor. Isamu had his bed removed from his room and had made a cot on the floor, so that he could be more in touch with his samurai roots, Isamu stood making his cot and then sitting on it his legs folded and his arms on his knees, Isamu always meditated before going to eat a meal and then again after the meal, then he would continue on with his daily training routine. Isamu stood after a few short minutes of meditation and began to walk to the dining hall, he took the "Ryun-Route" to make it there faster as he would be late otherwise and Isamu was very strict about when and how he showed up for everything, as Isamu walked at his quickened pace he walked up behind Ryunosuke and Taiki "Good morning my fellows." Isamu kept a good attitude around those in his own rank and house, only because they did look at him as if he was weak or an underling of some kind, but Isamu had never let rank bother him before and he never will. Isamu smiled as he walked beside Ryunosuke

Ryunosuke continued to walk along, now his facial expression turned rather bored. Until, once again, Ryunosuke was caught off guard by Isamu this time, another one of Ryunosuke's friend at the Asaiken House. Ryunosuke was a rather popular person at the temple, but not in a good way. He is known as the local "Joker", "Punk", and of course the most famous of his nicknames, "The Boy with No Talent". There are other students here who are just as famous, if not more so, for their abilities and are considered the top of the apprentice chart. They're the ones who recieves mission that actually involves dealing with tsumimono, even though those tsumimono are pretty weak in comparison to others. Two of these known people are Isamu and Minako. Though no one seems to understand the answer to this frequently asked questions amongst the apprentice samurai, "Why isn't Isamu in the Konken House?"

As Isamu surprised Ryunosuke, this time he fell towards the ground, though he is fortunate to catch himself before smushing his face against the ground again. After regaining his footing again, Ryunosuke turned to Isamu with the irritated look in his eyes. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ISAMU???!!!" Ryunosuke then regained his composture again and continued walking. "You guys, I think today is finally the day I pass the exam and become a full-fledge samurai! I just know it!" Ryunosuke said with a confident smile.

((NPC Post, the Co-Hosts are able to take control of teachers and make NPC posts as well like this one))

The local Kibaku samurai teacher was a rather strange person as he would often flirt with the local ladies of the temple, including some of the older female students. He was rather a flamboyant man, wearing beautifully decorated kimono that changes everyday. Ryunosuke however described him as being rather "girly". His name was Yurin Asutomu, or Asutomu Sensei as all of the apprentice samurai called him. Asutomu walked towards the window of his room and peaked outside. "My, my, my, these beautiful students of mine! It's such a pity that they'll all one day be out of my class.... Hmm? Is that, why it is.... Minako!"

Asutomu then quickly dashed outside and stood in front of Minako. He gave his famous smile and ran his fingers through his soft, brown hair. He then proceeded to grab Minako's hand in a rather dashing, but comical, way and began to talk. "Hello there Minako-Chan~<3! How are you doing this morning?<3"

Isamu did not mind Ryunosuke's shouting at him, he knew it might happen and he only smiled, and as Ryunosuke spoke of becoming a fully fledged samurai Isamu spoke "Rank and class mean nothing, they are only names and places were you stay. Take me for example, I am a very great student, but I am still an apprentice and still in the lowest house, yet I am one of the more powerful samurai here." Isamu's words were calm and gentle, but they were like arrows being shot from his tongue. Though Isamu was very kind he was quite harsh as well, his words would sound as if they were kind and comforting yet his tongue was a double bladed sword that could cut the surface or strike deep into the flesh leaving a permanent impression. Isamu smiled and closed his eyes "So you see even if you are not of high rank you can still be of the highest power and of the highest ability, but if you ever need help I would be glad to show you my training process, and help you improve on your fighting skills, as well as help you study for your exams." Isamu spoke the words kindly his smile showing he was being very generous. Isamu had a bond with Ryunosuke that none could understand, they both had never known their parents and even though their skills differed greatly they were alike ways that no one else would understand

Ryunosuke smiled gladly at what Isamu had just said. Ryunosuke knew Isamu was exactly right. "Heh, you're right Isamu, but still.... It's just good to know that you worked hard and earn yourself a cool title. Besides, I'm not really wanting the title for its fame and benefits and what-not, but, I want people to know just because your at the lowest of the low, you can still rise up and become great. Take the story for example, the one with the snake. The snake was just slithering along but then it saw a dragon flying up ahead. It wanted to become a dragon even though the snake was one of the lower animals. Hmm, you know, I never found out the ending of that story to see if the snake did become a dragon or not." Ryunosuke wondered to himself. "It's sorta funny too, I'm like that snake don't you think? My name has the word Ryu in it meaning dragon, but to others I'm kinda just a lowly snake. But I'll prove 'em wrong, I'll become a dragon and soar to the top!" Ryunosuke said with fiery determination shown in his eyes.

"Oh by the way, I heard three months from now that there's gonna be some type of tournament that pits the apprentice samurai from different temple against each other in a series of challenges. I heard that Hishirimi Temple will be participating in that tournament this year. We've competed like two years ago but I think we lost. Well anyways, they're going to choose the representatives for this temple soon. I'm hoping I'll get a spot." Ryunosuke said.

Isamu smiled "Then all the more reason for you to train hard and become stronger no matter what the challenge rise up and find the strength to push above your limits and use all of what you have learned to push forth your wings and soar into the sky young snake and become that which you have sought so long to be." Isamu said speaking in proverbs as he normally did "But know this to become stronger you must train like those who are twice your strength and more, you must show your willingness to push the boundaries set by those who wish to keep you in place and hold your dreams back, and my offer shall stand as long as you are willing to follow a strict code and train your hardest every signal day that you draw breath." Isamu said still smiling he opned his eyes and looked to the sky "But know the road to becoming a dragon requires many long days of training, for not even I have gained my wings, but one day we shall all soar throughout the skies with greatness in our wake." Isamu said then looking back to Ryunosuke "So what do you say would you like to start training with me, it would benefit us both if we worked together to become stronger." Isamu smiled again his willingness to help seemed as if he would not take no for an answer, but his offer was humble and was not asking much, but if Ryunosuke accepted his every breath would be devoted to training

Ryunosuke's eyes shined with confidence as he place his fist outwards. "Heh, you don't have to ask me twice. You know I'm in for training. I'm willing to get stronger no matter what it takes! I'll become a dragon even if it kills me!" Ryunosuke said with confidence. Suddenly however, the mood was ruined when a large growl was heard. Ryunosuke's face turned comical and showed signs of embarrassment. "Umm, hehe, but maybe I can become a dragon after breakfast huh?...." Ryunosuke said as it turned out the growling was from Ryunosuke's stomach. "Man, all of this talk about training I forgot that we need to get some breakfast before going to our first class. We'll train during the afternoon when we are finish with classes, but right now I need some food for my stomach." Ryunosuke said as he continued to walk towards the dining hall. After awhile, they finally arrived at the dining hall. After getting their breakfast, they sat down at their usual table. "*Sigh* I'm short on Kin.... Can any of you guys let me borrow some Kin to buy a bento for lunch this afternoon?" Ryunosuke asked.

Ryunosuke, Isamu, and Taiki didn't have the privilege of getting Kin from their families like how other apprentice samurai did. They had to do work around the temple to earn money for buying things and getting services. It was a pretty hard life for the three of them as they have to focus on studies, training, and earning money. Though not once did any of them complained.

Isamu smiled he would allow Ryunosuke to live life normally today, but once they began training it would not end until both of them had their wings and soared into the skies like the dragons that they truly were, when Isamu sat down he only had a bowl of white rice with a cup of unsweetened green tea, this in itself was part of his training, Isamu never spent much, but he spent his kin wisely on food that would be beneficial to his training, so he always had plenty of kin "Here take this, but I will tell you this my training will require your every bit of strength and devotion, if you wish to train with me you will haft to change everything you do to benefit your training, but most importantly you must learn why these things help you." Isamu said handing Ryunosuke a small hand full of kin, witch amounted to about ten kin, Isamu's meals only cost him one kin, and even though they were not much they benefited him greatly, Isamu picked up a pair of chop sticks and began to eat his rice taking small bites and taking a sip of his tea every few bites "So be prepared this training will push you to your limits, and will even push you beyond them." Isamu's words were blunt he spoke like the training would be rigorously intense, even though it was merely the way of life Isamu had adopted from his long hours of watching others train and reading until his eyes hurt to the point were he could read no longer

((Last post of the day for me))

Ryunosuke took the kin and placed it in his dragon-patterned, kin pouch. Ryunosuke however kept one piece of kin out and let it rest on the palm of his left hand. "You have no need to worry Isamu, I can adapt to any situation so even though your training methods are tough, I won't give up! I'll adapt and train hard! But first, let me see what kind of luck I got. This piece of kin right here will determine my lunch for today. If I get to land on heads, I'll buy the special bento lunch today, if tails, I get the cheapest bento lunch. Lemme see, here we go!" Ryunosuke flipped the coin into and caught it as it descended. Ryunosuke then placed the coin on the opposite palm. "GAH! Oh I mean, I guess that's fine for today...." The side that the kin piece landed on was the tails side, meaning Ryunosuke will buy the cheapest bento lunch, though one could tell from his reaction that he wanted it to land on the head side. Ryunosuke then placed the kin piece into his pouch and continued to eat his breakfast.

In the office of the main samurai teacher, Kirashi Utagawa, who was in fact the main samurai teacher, was busy at work preparing the field practice exam which fortunately also doubled as a mission. He was deciding who to be involve in the exam. "Alright, I have one more spot open, who should I pick to go?.... I already have a team leader, co-team leader, and forefronter.... I still need a backguard.... AHH!!! This is killing me!"

Isamu smiled almost wickedly as Ryunosuke said he could adapt to any training Isamu could throw at him "Good we will start first by changing the way you go threw the day, then we shall start testing your fighting skills then improve your weaknesses and correct your stance, then we shall go from there." said as he lifted his small cup of tea in a toast like fashion "This is to your last days as a lowly snake and to your new life on the road to becoming a majestic dragon amongst the heavens." Isamu then drank what was left of the tea and set the glass down on the table and took the last bite of rice from his bowl "Your first day shall be your hardest I can tell you this much, but worry not I believe in your ability to adapt." Isamu then stood and took his bowl and glass to were they were to be left so that they could washed and used again in a later meal, then he walked out of the dining hall and walked out into the main garden area and sat in front of the lotus pond with his legs crossed and his hands again on his knees he breathed deeply in and out focusing his energies and creating a blue aura around him, this would prepare him for today's exam, it would clear his mind and ready him for any physical test that the exam might include, Isamu's focus was intense as shown by the brightly glowing aura that surrounded him, he closed his eyes and slipped into a trance like state the aura grew closer to him now making a brightly shining ball around him. The lotus pond reflected the light from the aura making its surface glow dimly as Isamu meditated by it

Jake's stomach growled with envy over Ryunosuke's Bento Meal. "Aww man oh well I go some Kin..." Taiki then rummaged around in his Kin Termos a basic Thermos which he stored Kin in. "Well I have a...Rock...Broze Kin worth 5...and 2 regular Kin...Well! I won't starve!" Taiki then bought the Cheapest Rice Bowl he could however being the penny pincher he was Taiki absolutely Drowned his Rice with Natural Condiments he Gathered from the Dusk Forest. After finishing his meal Taiki remembered Ryunosuke's Remark about Dispelling his Sin Energy.
"Hey Guy's I'm going to go to the Temple to...Pray." However When Taiki got to the Temple he did not pray nor did he Dispel his Sin Energy instead he Tried to Jump Start Gosei! Now This may be crazy however it is all Taiki's Idea and under the Temple's Supervision slowly but surely Taiki is turning his Curse into a Gift.
"AHHHHH *deep voice well master ready for training?" the monk merely nodded "Take My CERO!" Taiki then fired a Crimson Fireball at the monk who merely deflected it.
"Ohhh what the Hell? grr go Rising Moon Slash!" Taiki readied the Rising Moon Slash but was merely deflected once again this charade was repeated time end time again until Taiki Passed out...5 Minutes Later
"Ooohh my head...Whoo! that was some great training! Well I'm a bit stronger...I wonder if I can take on a member of the Konken House..."(PS Taiki doesn't know Minako so Introduce yourself if you want.)

Minako smiled and flushed a little. Asutomu had taken her by surprise during her first few days at the temple, feeling awkward and uncertain of what to do around the man as he flirted with her; her training, after all, taught her to always use that to her advantage. Women had to use their sex appeal to fool men into thinking what they wanted.
But that was the way of a Noble, not a Samurai. She'd gotten to know Asutomu Sensei quite well the longer she stayed around, and was surprised to learn that despite being a blatant womanizer and rather eccentric, he was amazingly skilled skilled and rather kind man. He had a flair for the artistic, the beautiful and the kind, and honestly cared about his students.

Minako had a great deal of respect for him, which was why she always blew him off in the nicest possible manner.

"Good morning Astutomu Sensei," she said sweetly after retrieving her hand. "I'm doing very well. I'm sorry I hadn't had a chance to thank you for the flowers last week, it's just been rather difficult to find the time between studying and training..." she said with a small smile that conveyed yes, I AM too busy. The man had sent her, and most of the female students in the school, a lovely bunch of spring blooms as they came into season; she understood it was a bit of a tradition.

"Heh, no problem Isamu! I'm prepare to train with all of my strength! Oops, I need to get going and prepare for today's exam. I'll catch you guys later!" Ryunosuke said as he uickly finished his breakfast and ran out of the dining hall.

-Elsewhere-

"Oooh! So you did recieve my flowers huh Minako-Chan~<3! I'm so glad! I hope you like them! I picked very specific flowers for every one of my (female) students!~<3! I took very delicate care in the pickings of your flowers Minako-Chan~<3! Afterall, you're one of my top students, in fact, you are my top student~<3! When it comes to kibaku, you're only below one but above hundreds. That one being me of course, but I don't want to sound braggy or anything. Anyways, good luck on your field exam today Minako-Chan~<3! Too bad I can't cheer you on in person but I'll be with you in spirit~<3!" After that, Asutomu simply left, humming with grace along the way.

After a little while, Asutomu saw Ryunosuke walking by. "Oh hello there Ryun! How are you doing today?" Asutomu said with glee. "Oh, hi Asutomu Sensei. I'm doing good, just going back to my room to prepare for today's field exam. Oh and by the way, please don't call me Ryun...." Ryunosuke said with a comically depressed face. "But Ryun is such a magnificent nickname for a dragon like yourself don't you think? Oh, would you like to help me after the exam today with my flower arranging class?" Asutomu asked.

"Umm, no thanks.... I think that the flower arranging class is kind of.... well, not manly.... And besides, that class is full of girls, I'll look stupid being in that class...." Ryunosuke replied. "But I'm in there, and I'm not a girl<3!" Asutomu replied with a devious smile. "But you're sort of.... a pervert...." Ryunosuke answered. Upon hearing this, Asutomu was shocked and began to give a dramatic monologue. "Oh woe is me! To be shunned and called a pervert by my very own pride.... My students~</3!" Ryunosuke just simply slipped by and walked off, leaving Asutomu there by himself.

The bells were rung once more, signifying the end of breakfast and for the apprentice samurai to head for their first class before the field exam. Most of the apprentice samurai's first class is none other than Asutomu Sensei's Kibaku Class. After hearing the bells, Ryunosuke walked to Asutomu's class with a bored expression.

Isamu's aura disappeared with the sound of the bells and he breathed in deeply one last time before standing and beginning to walk to his first class. Isamu was very strict with himself and knew that he now had to be strict with Rynosuke, but it shouldn't be hard, all Ryunosuke needed was some fine tuning. Isamu watched how everyone trained and fought this helped him stay on top with his own fighting style and helped him improve his stance and style so that he would be ready for any type of fighting style. Isamu walked in just after Ryunosuke. Isamu wasn't the best at kibaku, but his skills at it were very strong at best, he walked quietly keeping his concentration he needed to be ready for every part of the exam no matter what, he would give his very best in every way

Minako waved goodbye to Asutomu as he left and continued on her way, her sandals making the only sounds as she hurried along. She'd almost forgotten entirely about the field exam today before Asutomu reminded her; she really had to stay up less studying, no matter what the academic benefit was. It didn't do her any good to be this slow and sluggish so early in the morning.

She headed over to the dining hall and patted the small bag of Kin by her side. Her family gave her a rather small stipend each month or so to cover her general costs; while it was nothing compared to her original allowance, it was leagues higher than what most of the other samurai got, and there was always something left over at the end of the month even after paying for food the entire time.

She bought herself some frest teriyaki marlin, along with a heated piece of flatbread to eat it with, some rice, and a bit of tea. She settled in a seat by herself to eat, and gazed out at the scenery; there wasn't much to see. This part of the temple wasn't particularly impressive, though the vendor's antics made her smile and the cooks were always very nice men that always had a good word to say. The one she had bought from was an eccentric man who wore strangely bright colors compared to the rest; he spoke quickly and interrupted anyone who tried to talk, but he was witty and almost philosophical at times.

Plus, he made the absolute best food.

She smiled a little and took a bite of her fish and bread, while gripping her Yumi in the other hand. If there was any student that was going to pass this examination, it was probably her, or at least Isamu. The two of them had even advanced far enough to deal with actual tsumimono, even if only the runts of the litter. Of course, being from Konken house, she was expected to pass even otherwise; how would it look if an Asaiken House member was the only one to pass the examination?

She sighed and shook her head. She was worrying too much, again. She did that a lot, though she'd never admit that she sometimes thought she'd fail, she'd slip up and she'd never become a true samurai...

Deciding to clear her head before class, she headed towards the temple to pray and cleanse herself. It was always good to have a little meditation before she began her studies, to loose herself of unnecessary baggage...

She walked past the various candles and incense holders, the statues holding perfectly arranged fruit as an offering to clay and stone buddhas, and smiled a little serenely. The monks nodded at her; there weren't many manning the temple, only about fifteen, sixteen or so. She knew most of them by sight, and a couple even by name, but they were silent by nature and generally ignored the students unless they were coming to meditate.

At first she thought she had the meditation floor to herself, aside from the usual monk presence, but was surprised to see an Aisaken boy laying on the ground in a daze, his black hair hanging backwards over his head like he had been blown back by an attack. She would have gone to help, but noticed he seemed undamaged; the monks had evidently already attended to him, and she didn't think it was her place to try and help without proper medical knowledge.

She dropped into a proper lotus stance and cleared her head as the time passed. Eventually, the boy near her stirred, stretched and spoke loudly for the room they were in. He murmured something about the training and Konken House, but Minako's only thought was to shush him- his talking was making it hard to focus.

Either way, she heard the loud bells announce the end of breakfast and decided the kid had caused no harm, and thus no foul. She gave a cursory nod of the head as she left, repeated with the various monks that passed her way as she made her way from the wood floors of the temple to Astutomu-Sensei's room. He hadn't just been flattering her earlier- she really was the best of the class, thusfar anyway. She had to be there, to keep up her reputation at the very least, and besides, she could use some extra practice before the exam.

"Alright my dear students! Today is the big field exam!" Asutomu said gleefully as he closed a traditional Japanese fan in his hand. Upon hearing the mention of the field exam, most of the students began to complain and sulk. Ryunosuke, on the other hand, had a confident smile on his face. "(Heh, this time I will definately pass!)" Ryunosuke thought to himself. "Asutomu Sensei!" one of the student yelled out as he raised his hand. "Yes Daisuke, what is it?" Asutomu replied. "Umm, about this field exam, will we be engaging in real combat against real tsumimono?" Daisuke asked. A drop of sweat could be seen running down the side of his face. Daisuke was a rather round individual and a bit of a coward as well. "Unfortunately no, the field exam will pit you against modified tsumimono that are virtually controlled by the exam proctors so there's no one you can die. Though getting hurt is another story." Asutomu answered.

Upon hearing this, Daisuke wipped the sweat from the side of his face and sighed in relief. Ryunosuke, however, seemed to be rather diappointed. "(Aww man! No real danger! That's not fun!)" Ryunosuke thought to himself. "Anyway students, allow me to explain the proceedings of the exam again." Upon hearing this, the students started to complain and sulk again. "Sorry students, it's mandatory that I explained it or else the Chief Samurai Teacher Utagawa will have my head, a figure of speech of course. Anyways, after this class, you are to report to the Examinations Buildings in Block D. There you will follow your exam proctor assigned to you by the exam ticket you were given. If you were given a red exam ticket your exam proctor will be the Tsumimono Biology teacher, Kagami Sensei, blue and you get Sword Art teacher, Toreda Sensei, and if you have a green ticket, you get to be with the History teacher, Yukichi Sensei."

"Your respective exam proctors will then proceed to take you to the area of your exam which then you start the exam. Easy enough." Asutomu explained. "(So I got Toreda Sensei as my exam proctor huh?)" Ryunosuke thought to himself. "Now, how about we begin class with some reviewing hmm? Now students, who can tell me at least three offensive kibaku techniques?" Asutomu asked as he sat down onto his desk.

Isamu spoke quickly knowing the answer since two of these techniques he himself used "Shadow Serpent, Serpent Stare; Coiling Entrapment, and Phantom Sword." Isamu may not be skilled in using Kibaku, but he knew plenty about it. He had studied all kinds of Kibaku when he was younger and still spends time reading about Kibaku. Isamu continued to explain the uses of each technique "Shadow Serpent allows the user to fade from sight, but can be detected by enemies stronger than the user or those with increased sight abilities, this technique can also be stopped by covering the user in a thick liquid. Serpent Stare; Coiling entrapment is a technique that requires eye contact with the target, once eye contact is established the target will be unable to move along with disabling the users ability to move. Phantom Sword is a technique in witch the user emits a large pressure wave and sound wave knocking back enemies at close range and stunning those at far range." Isamu said proudly confident in his explanation and his answers

"Aww sweet I got a blue ticket!" Taiki Listened to Isamu's Explanation about Kibaku techniques. and retorted with his own little understanding
"Let me guess you use these techniques do you not Isamu? while you explained what Those Kibaku were you didn't explain what Kibaku is. *ahem a Kibaku is a special move only performable by Tsumimono and Samurai. Kibaku usually are used by sacrificing Virtue Energy and/or Sin Energy. Also these usually don't require the use of a Kigeki."

Isamu was also given a blue exam ticket, after receiving his ticket he turned to Taiki "While yes I did not explain what Kibaku is, everyone should know this already, and further more Only two of those techniques I use." Isamu's words were like fire from his mouth although spoken calmly Isamu's tone was hostile and harsh. Isamu as nice as he may be still had a some what of a short temper when it came to being corrected especially when the person shows no respect to him, Isamu may not like rank or status, but there are still standings that apply to all no matter who they may be. Isamu stood by the old samurai code and would not take disrespect kindly unless it was deserved or given by someone stronger than him. Isamu's eyes had a fire in them, Taiki may be of the same rank and house as Isamu, but Isamu being stronger than Taiki made it more disrespectful, at least in Isamu's eyes

"Well good job there Isamu, and good explanations as well. And Taiki, your understanding of kibaku is also correct, but of course, I haven't elaborated further on the details of Kibaku. Since we are getting into this discussion, Ryunosuke, can you explain to me what Kibaku is in your own words please." Asutomu asked with a comfortable smile. "Uhhh, I don't know.... I guess I would say magical powers created from virtue energy...." Ryunosuke answered in a way that seems to out of the blue. ".... Umm.... good, but not exactly.... Let me explain kibaku in full details."

After clearing his throat, Asutomu began to speak once again. "Kibaku, otherwise known as Spirit Spells, are the physical manifestations of natural virtue or sin energy found regulating throughout the central networks of the body of an organism. These physical manifestations occur when an organism with a substanial than normal amount of natural energy physically forces it out of their body and shaping it or physically forcing it into an object. When shaping the energy, kibaku users can add what is loosely known as elemental nature energy into their kibaku, making it change properties for example a fireball. Forcing energy into an object still makes that kibaku retain its original properties as pure, concentrated energy. The higher the energy output, the stronger the form of kibaku is created. However, Kibaku technically does not exist for tsumimono but an anti-form, if you will, of kibaku that uses sin energy called Fubaku or Impure Spell is created by the tsumimono. Though, it hasn't been documented that a tsumimono is ever capable of shaping its sin energy." Asutomu explained.

After hearing the explanation, Ryunosuke simply had an empty and confused look on his face.

"Oh I apologize Isamu If I disrespected you.
"you may not know it Isamu...but I'm stronger than my cheery persona allows people to think."
Taiki then Bowed before Isamu attempting to regain his respect.
"Hey Ryunosuke heh I kind of know how you feel This Kubaku Fubaku stuff is kinda confusing. Plus that guy did give a Lecture." Taiki whispered.

Minako listened to the review, slightly bored. She did, of course, already know everything; she had already studied all night, after all. Isamu stood up to recite for the class, and she found it briefly amusing he included Phantom Sword along with his own snake-themed Kibaku as examples, though he did get the definition of what it did somewhat wrong. She figured he must have noticed her use it at one point; it was possible he saw the depiction in a text book, but the two of them were the most advanced students of the apprentice class and it wasn't a rare occurrence that they were partnered for a particularly difficult mission. They never really talked -Isamu didn't seem the conversation type, and besides, he was two houses beneath her despite his skill- but they had seen eachother fighting on several notable occasions.

She considered calling him on mixing up Sparrow Song and Phantom Sword, but decided against it. No need to jump down his throat right before exams, she figured, and brushed a lock of her hair backwards. She mentally began reviewing as the class degenerated into reiterating the basics; usual strategies, methods of utilizing her Sword Art, tips on reducing the quantity of Virtue energy needed for certain abilities... her hand briefly brushed the green ticket in her pocket.
