@Donovyn: It's your own fault, sneeking up on me like that.

@Talos: You need to be at least a little bit insane to rule the word, right? ;)
Very true. But I am not insane.
BlakeVictus took off the Virtually Reality Helmet after confirming that he had wonthe duel. He looked at the screen of the Duel Terminal in front of him and asatisfied smile touched his lips. The amount of Duel Points he had earned forhis latest duel far surpassed his other winnings, but of course that duel wasmuch harder than any other he had done before. Blake touched a button on theside of the screen that opened up a drop down menu. He select ‘SHOP’ andinstantly the screen changed to a list of card names. Blake moved his fingerover to the search bar and typed in the name of the card that he was lookingfor. After finding his desired card he pressed the ‘BUY’ button next to thename of the card. Blake then brought back up the drop down menu and clicked‘CARD STORAGE.’ He browsed through his deck of Plant-Type monsters making surethat it was all there, even though he knew that it wouldn’t have changed. Hethen added his recently bought card, Queen of Thorns, to his Extra Deck.

Anunmistakable sound of a bell jingling interrupted the nearly deserted arcade.School had just gotten out and most people were doing homework, but Blake hadfinished all his at school so that he could escape from algebra for a fewhours. Blake turned to the sound of the bell and saw that two new comers hadcome into the arcade. Blake new them well, Jade Diamond and Timothy Knight, ofcourse everyone just called him Tim or Knight. Jade wore a purple jacket overher black shirt and her ripped dark jeans fit in perfectly with the outfit. Herblack hair seemed to draw the light and her green eyes were stunning, she wasthe most terrifying person you could run into. Tim was wearing a blue leatherjacket over his bright yellow shirt. His eyes were obscured by the sunglassesthat he always wore and his fake smile was plastered across his face. They werethe last people Blake wanted to see.

Blakequickly turned away and tried to seem like he hadn’t noticed the latest guests, but he was too late and Tim pointed him out to Jade, who in turn started towalk over to him closely followed by Tim. Blake could hear the soft click ofher heels each time she took a step, but he did not dare look at her, in hopesthat she would leave him alone. He had no such luck.

“What’sup?” Jade asked Blake with pop of the gum in her mouth.

Despitethe feeling of nervousness and hatred inside him Blake answered back,” Nothingmuch.” When he said this he turned around to look at her.

“Watchadoing there?” Jade asked in an amused voice, but it wasn’t the kind of amusedlike someone had just told a joke, but more like she was looking at puppy beingbeaten. Without waiting for him to reply she leaned her head forward and lookedat the screen. Unfortunately for Blakeopened on the screen was his virtual duelist card. On it was his avatar, ranking, duel points, and win/loss ratio. “Is that really your avatar?” Sheasked snidely. Blake was a tall, lanky figure. He was stronger than he looked, but it didn’t matter kids still picked on him for it. Blake’s avatar was awhole other story. It was a picture of a rough-looking, muscular man. He wore asleeveless shirt and his biceps glistened with sweat, below the avatar was hisscreen name. It read ‘Nature Knight.’ “Well you definitely weren’t going forthe realistic look were you?” Jade said evilly. Tim snorted behind her but saidnothing.

Bythis time Blake was red in the face. He said nothing and sat there feeling likea complete dunce. After a few minutes Jade and Tim walked away laughing. Whenthey were out of his eye sight Blake let out a sigh. Out of all the people intown that could have walked through that door it had to be those two. Blakequickly went to changing his avatar to a warrior in ninja like clothing, hopingthat that one would call less attention to himself. Blake was about to poweroff the Duel Terminal he was playing at, knowing that his dueling session wouldbe of no use to him with those two here, but as his hand hovered over the poweroff button he got a virtual notification. He opened up and read.

You have been challenged by player

VOID
Rank 93
A/D
Blake’shand hovered over the ‘Decline’ option after seeing the player’s rank. Hehimself was just a measly 34 and would not stand a chance against such a highranked player, but after you contemplated for a second he realized that even ifhe lost, which he most surely would, he would gain a large amount duel pointsdue to the drastic difference in their rankings. Blake made a quick decisionand pressed the ‘Accept’ option and thrust the Virtual Reality Helmet back on.Blake was instantly transported to a spherical room with a large screen infront of him. He quickly selected the deck he would use and his opponent lethim choose the arena that they would duel at so he pressed ‘Silent Meadow.’Silent Meadow was his favorite duel arena due to its calming sound of the windgently stroking the long grass and whispering to the elegant flowers.

Thespherical room started to change and before long Blake was standing in aspacious meadow. Blake looked up at the clear blue sky and felt the gentlebreeze on his face. He could have stood there all day, but he remembered thathe had a duel and glanced at his opponent. A gasp of surprise escaped him as hesaw his opponent. It was dressed in medieval-like armor, but the color of thearmor was surprising. The blackness seemed to swirl and tiny pin pricks oflight pierced the armor. It took a second for Blake to realize that what he waslooking at was an image of space. He searched his memory and then rememberedthat there was an outfit choice for an avatar called ‘Space Armor,’ but thisarmor looked slightly different. The normal ‘Space Armor’ did not have thefierce looking spikes on the forearms, elbows, and shoulders like this one, nordid it have the wicked helmet that his opponent wore, but Blake shrugged it offas a feature that higher ranked players had access to.

Blakeheld up his duel disk and it powered up. It was then that Blake noticed thathis opponent had no duel disk, but he held a sword in his right hand. VOID heldup his sword and the backs of five cards appeared on the side of the sword thatfaced Blake. Blake reasoned that the sword was an advanced option of a dueldisk, and once again shrugged it off as a feature that he just didn’t haveaccess to. Blake saw that VOID had left him the option of choosing whether togo first or second. Blake selected first and drew five cards, quickly followedby a sixth.

Blakesmiled as he saw his hand; it would seem that lady luck had favored him. “I start off by normal summoning my Dandylionin attack position.” Blake said as a small, gentle monster appeared on thefield, “Next, I will activate Double Summon to summon to the field LonefireBlossom. Now, I activate Lonefire Blossom’s ability which lets me tribute myDandylion to special summon another Lonefire Blossom from my deck. Then,Dandylion’s effect activates letting me special summon 2 Fluff Tokens.” Blakesaid as his Lonefire Blossom shot a spurt of flames at his Dandylion making iterupt in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared standing in the place of theDandylion was another Lonefire Blossom and 2 monsters that looked as if theywere small twigs with fur on the top. “I tribute 1 of my Fluff Tokens tospecial summon 1 Gigaplant from my deck. I finish my turn with a face-down.”Blake finished as a giant monster made of swirling vines and carnivorous plantstook the place of 1 of the fluff tokens on the field.

Nature Knight: 4000 LP
VOID: 4000 LP
“Turnstart.” VOID said with an expressionless tone. “I activate Lightning Vortex,”VOID announced once again in a monotone voice, as he discarded a card andlightning bolts rained down from the sky, destroying all of Blake’s monsters.

No worries Blake thought as long as I have my facedown I am safe

“NowI activate Twister, destroying your face down at the cost of 500 Life Points.Next I summon Gene-Warped Warwolf in attack position.” VOID said as he stabbedhis sword into the ground and a light erupted from the small hole he made. Thelight and hole got bigger and as the light died away a white fur werewolf wasstanding in front of VOID.

Nature Knight: 4000 LP
VOID: 3500
“NowI activate Megamorph and equip it to my Gene-Warped Warwolf.” VOID said. Blakestood aghast as his opponent’s monster’s attack points rose to 4000. It wasenough to finish him in 1 swift move. Blake quickly scanned his hand, but sawnothing that he could activate to save himself. “Gene-Warped Warwolf, attack.”VOID shouted as he pointed his sword at Blake. The giant werewolf launcheditself up into the air and Blake prepared himself for the game overnotification, but when the werewolf struck Blake screamed out in pain. Theattack had caused more than just simulated but real pain. When the game overnotification appeared on the screen Blake ripped the helmet off his head andlifted his hand to his face. He felt 4 long gashes, but strangely they were notbleeding. They felt like scars, but yet the pain they were generating felt asif the wound was open. Blake stood up and ran to the bathroom he looked in themirror and sure enough on his face were 4 red scars, it was then Blake blackedout.

Blakefelt a splash of cold water hit his face and he opened his eyes with a gasp. Helooked around to take in his surroundings. He was lying on the bathroom floorof the arcade and Tim was kneeling over him. Blake wondered how he had gotthere, but then it all came crashing back to him, the duel, the attack, thepain, the loss, and the scars. Blake started to lift his hand, but Tim quicklypushed it back down. “What happened?” He demanded.

“VOID…”Blake choked out, but the energy of talking was too much for him and he blackedout again.

Thenext time Blake woke up he found himself in a hospital bed. He was wearing apatient gown and was lying in a comfortable roll around bed. He turned his headslightly and saw that sitting in the chairs by his bed were Tim and Jade. Bothof them had a look of anxiousness on their face. It was not a look that Blakehad ever seen or expected to seen on them. “How do you feel?” Tim asked. Hisvoice was much more kind and gentle than Blake was used to. Usually Tim wasjeering at him or making some sarcastic remark.

Blakedidn’t answer right away, but after a few seconds he answered back,” My headfeels like it has been attacked with a golf club.” Blake said with a slightsmile on his face.

“Itlooks more like you got attacked with a weed whacker.” Tim said. “You going totell us what happened?”

“Youwouldn’t believe me if I told you?” Blake said darkly.

“Tryus.” Jade said, speaking for the first time.

“Alright, but don’t say I didn’t tell you so.” Blake said and then he launched into thestory of how he had received a duel request from VOID and all the up to theattack that had finished the duel.

“WellI guess there is only one thing to do.” Jade said after hearing Blake’s story.

“What?”

“Wehave to find this VOID and get some answers out of him.”

I hate it when I say something, and then when I look back at it, I realize I misread the thing...
Then I'm all like "Oh... uh, never mind... ^.^;"

Lexadin, Dawn of Destiny is a Yugioh Game for XBox that came out back when it was legal to use Harpie's Feather Duster and then get it back with Magician of Faith.

Ah, so a time when people didn't relied on Mass swarming and spamming Synchros to win a duel. Ah, good times.

I did. And well though I didn't disliked it, I didn't enjoyed it either. There where quite some spaces missing. And I found that the story was almost identical to this fan fic.
Besides that I found it rather disapointing that the characters wheren't introduced all that well, excpecially this "Blake". Also I found that the reaction that "Jade" and "Tim" had on Blake's story where unrealistic imo.
Though beside those points it was quite ok.

Np, I'm not an real expert on fan fics and stuff, but that's just how I see it.
I really do appreciate it. I have only written one other fan fic and that was awhile ago so I knew I needed some opinions.
