The Official Forum Discussion Thread

Well this section pretty much lives on mod-less except for the occasional spammer  but I thought since it's so calm, might as well go crazy.

So any suggestions on events we could do or something to keep the forum lively? Anything really, can be games as well.

I'm also working on revamping the "rules" post, any band you'd like to see as the background pic? If I get no suggestions you'll end up with this guy

Personally, Music doesn't need too many harsh rules considering how the forum is set up and who visits it.

I don't know if you had an original rules thread, but I'm just pitching in suggestions.

The general rules about spamming and flaming, with the utmost important on the latter. Since we all know how much these "metal-loving fuckheads" (anyone get the reference?) love bashing on people with a [s]bad[/s] different taste in music.

Other than that, I don't see other rules needed. Maybe, "don't make a thread about the same song/band if it was in the past five pages of the forum, and bumping it will not result in punitive actions".

Oh, and possibly add something about preferring threads about bands as opposed to individual songs. Since we don't want the music forum to have fifty Michael Jackson songs when they can more easily be discussed in one hyper-active Michael Jackson thread.

Just my... three cents.

In terms of activity, as much as you'd be so opposed to this, have a YGT for real-life music songs. It may get spammy, but you can pit bands against each other and... well, yeah.

I can't think of any games for Music that wouldn't be listed under, well, Games.

Yes but that's why I want to make at least something lovely.~ There was a rules thread that included these things but I put it off because I want to re-arrange it with a better layout.

The rules themselves aren't that big or important and don't really need any adjustments (although feedback is always fine) but I'm looking for a background pic.

*noted*
If no one else comes in and protests, then we might all end up with what you suggested.=P Too bad for them I guess.

*sigh* So my idea was to start a lyrics writing contest with a twist. It's usually done with regular writing contests but everyone submits an intro, then all the entires are shuffled and you have to continue what you got in the best way possible. So you have a chance by submitting something utterly silly but it might turn back on you, because others might as well do the same.

Any comments on that? Different idea? More difficulty?

Well I made the YCM Secrets, it's made for telling your opinions about members, the mods, the n00bs...without facing consequences because it's anonymous. But not many people entered so it wasn't such a good idea.

But here in Music I'd prefer something about flaming the artists only, since everyone seems to hate Justine Bieber so we might as well have only 1 thread about it rather than 100.

Please, I beg you, stop talking bullshit. Metal fans are like Jehovah's Witnesses - they always try to force their beliefs on you and get angry and threaten you if you disagree with them.

I excluded the rest as it turned into a violent rant, but I think I just summarized 80% of music posters in two sentences.

Hmmm... This thread is fairly... Dead...

But yeah, I think music collabarations/competitions (Hosted in the same way as a YGO card competition or a GFX competition), would be an awesome idea. That is, if we had enough musicians. ;D
