Premier Alexander Romanov
Paradox and Itsu, the new arrival, continued talking, but Number 91 had been listening to her Master and his Boss talk to Lily and Leuneth. She was now starting to develop her one identity and a personality, and had been questioning herself. She had done research, calculated simulations, and tried to figure out if she was malfunctioning. When she determined that she was not, but becoming human, she was actually happy. She had been smiling slightly for the past few minutes, but when Leuneth asked her to duel, she simply replied "Why?" Paradox and Itsu turned to watch the development. Dementuo
"I wish to test your capabilities against mine." Leuneth answered. "There is nothing more to it. You are an interesting opponent. As such, you have gained my attention." Leuneth said. "Now then... I'll let you decide who will take the first move..." Leuneth said, activating his Duel Disk. "And Lily... Don't lose yourself." Leuneth said. "I have yet to fight you... And I will fight you... Someday." Leuneth said. -MEANWHILE- "Now that our existance is exposed, we can no longer wait around. However, this is what they are expecting. As a result, we must move catiously..." Sven slammed his fist down onto his throne's arm. "Damnit!" Sven said angrily. "No... No... I will not lose myself..." Afte rSven composed himself, he turned to Ven. "I must ask your opinion. You're a human. As sub, your thought process is different. Now, I ask you what our next move should be." Sven said. "As I am now, I would simply lose myself to my own frustration." Sven admitted. Zextra
"Aren't you forgetting someone?" Nikki chuckled as she leapt down from a surrounding cliff, landing in front of Leneuth. "Don't think I've just been wasting time...I did see that duel from earlier..." Nikki looked at Lily. "Now, to make things more interesting, how would you like to fit me in? Does a 3-way duel sound fair?" she asked "sweetly", pulling her left arm out from under her cloak, her duel disk activating.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Number 91 replied. "Why are you dead and alive at the same time? I tried figuring that out when I dueled Lily, but I couldn't. You and my Master mentioned something about Signers and Dark Signers and Earthbound Immortals. What are they, and what are you?" Itsu's amulet flashed again. "Yep. This dimension's future is definitely changing." "Is it corrected enough to reverse the Spiral?" Paradox asked. "I am afraid not. However, we need to stick with our plan. Hopefully, that should be enough out of alignment to start the reversal process." "Understood." Itsu called over to Lily. "Hey! Can we talk to you?"
evilfusion
"You could spend all day with the 'we know they know we know' thing," Ven said, after a moment's thought. "You could say that they want us to take action, so if we were to keep the upper hand, we'd have to be cautious. But it could be argued that they don't want us to take action, so they let us think we shouldn't because we think they want us to." He chuckled briefly, but then regained his seriousness. "They know about us and our Machine Emperors. They do not seem to know the end result, nor do they know our motives. We must keep that in the dark as much as possible, and accelerate our plans. All Signers must be beaten. The clash of Synchro, Dark Synchro, Immortal, and Machine Emperors will complete the Circuit. The tournament was simply a means to an end to inspire the Signers and Dark Signers to clash to their fullest potential." "As such," Ven continued. "Our next move is to pick them off, one by one. Both types, before they can unite into one force. We should each take one." He checked a list. "At this time, I confirmed the continued presence of four Dark Signers, and four Signers. Lily, Leuneth, Zeta, and Nikki, respectively, followed by Justin, Akarui, Strata, and Kirin. All four of the Signers have one loss on their record, and two of the Dark Signers are in the same position. Nikki and Leuneth remain unbeaten." "We could choose a target whose deck is at a disadvantage." --- Lily glanced their way. "It seems you already are. Well done on your acheivement." Dementuo
"Hmph... I have no problems with that..." Leuneth said to Nikki. He then turned to #91. "...Dead and alive? Hmph... You must mean why my eyes are black, and why I have no heartbeat..." Leuenth said. "It's... Very difficult to explain. I highly doubt that you would understand, only due it its sheer illogicity." Leuneth said. "Our Earthbound Immortals, however... Are a different story. They are... Our form of a god. However... We control them. They do not control us" Leuneth explained. "Or, at least... They do not control all of us..." Leuneth continued. "Now... On to the duel." Leuneth said. -MEANWHILE- Sven had calmed himself slightly. "Thank you, Ven. You are correct. We should choose the one who's deck is at a disadvantage to us. However, I am in no condition to be fighting at the moment. So, either you or Ren will have to go in my stead." Sven said. Premier Alexander Romanov
Number 91 prepared to duel, but something had been nagging at her. She mulled over it using her processors, and finally asked Leuneth. "I have one more question. This deals with Dark Signer lore that I researched. Apparently, you can make a special kind of duel called a 'Shadow Game' in which the loser will lose their soul, or die and come back as a Dark Signer also bound to the Earthbound Immortal of the one who defeated them. Hypothetically, if we were to do a Shadow Game, and I somehow lost, would I lose my soul, or would I come back as a Dark Signer?"
evilfusion
Ven studied the list thoughtfully, as if analyzing the situation. "On the Signer end, Justin already defeated Grannel, but I think Ren and Skiel's more defensive style could help counter his Synchro spamming." His eyes flicked down the list. "Strata is another option for Ren, but Blackwings' tendency to swarm makes them more dangerous to Skiel." He tapped his fingers on his throne. "As for me, I can take either Kirin or Strata. Wisel can hold off a swarm fairly easily, and I do not fear Black Rose Dragon. Ideally, we will not face Kirin, however. That dragon has already evolved, whereas Blackfeather has not." "Now, if we were to instead target a Dark Signer, Wisel is a superior choice against Zeta's fusions, as Wisel's more offensive than Skiel, and offense will keep the fusions at bay. Leuneth is probably a Skiel target. Nikki does not have known Synchros."
Dementuo
"As you are not human, you possess no soul to lose. Also, for the same reasons, you would not make a fit vessal for the Earrhbound Immortals. So, you have very little to lose." Leuneth explained. "Now, we duel. If you will not decide, then I shall go first. So, what is your desicion?" Leuneth asked. -MEANWHILE- "Hm... I see..." Sven agreed. "You are an interesting person, Ven. Very interesting indeed." Sven noted. "Not once have I seen a human who was willing to join Yliaster..." Sven said. "We should focus mainly on the Blackwing user. If his dragon has not evolved, then he shall be our top target." Sven said. "And what of the other Signer? His dragon changed form, so we should attempt to learn which he now possesses. However, take care of the Blackwing Signer first." Sven said.
evilfusion
Ven smirked slightly at the presumed praise. He rose to his feet again. "I'll choose to face the Blackwing Signer first, then. Ren can pick whoever he wishes, but be careful if you choose a Dark Signer as your opponent," he warned. Like Ren and Sven, he had his own method of getting to and from the throne chamber to the Dueling Station. It wasn't as flashy as the sword, nor as instantaneous as the teleportation. For that reason, he often piggybacked off Sven's rifts due to it simply being easier and faster. "Mind conjuring me up a quick zip there?" he asked the Grannel Emperor. He slipped the duel calculator into his cloak just in case, and double checked his Disk and deck were all in working order. Using the viewpoint, he quickly assessed where his target was located. No sense in wasting time searching.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Number 91 was absolutely stunned. She didn't have a soul? Why not? Didn't her Master create her with a soul? She then realized that she had no idea what exactly a "soul" was, so she researched and researched, standing there for about a minute before sobbing in frustration. She asked Leuneth. "What is a soul, and why don't I have one?!?" Obviously, the robot was becoming, surprisingly, emotionally distraught. Paradox saw that Number 91 wasn't looking so hot, so he went over to comfort her, but she rebutted his advance and asked Leuneth again. "Where is my soul?!?" Itsu continued to wait for Lily's response.
Dementuo
Leuneth looked back over at Nikki, then at Lily, then at #91. "...You are not unlike myself, or those two." Leuneth said, gesturing towards Nikki and Lily. "...This is a rather difficult concept to explain... A soul is what gives everything the power to feel, emotionally. You, as of your current state, possess too little emotion to harbor a soul of your own. As such... You do not have one... If you were to become a being capable of feeling emotion, then you, a that point, may begin to harbor a soul of your own..." Leuneth explained. "When, where, why, or how you will obtain your own soul is unknown." Leuneth finished. "Now then... If we are to duel, then we must begin. You may start." Leuneth said. Premier Alexander Romanov
Number 91, however, refused to start. Her programming was practically screaming for her to take her turn, but there was something inside of her that said otherwise. She needed to find out one last question. She simply asked Leuneth. "Can you help me find my soul, or help me get one? I feel like..." Number 91 didn't know what she felt, but she used the word anyways, since she had no basis for this feeling inside of her. "I feel this...emptiness...inside of me...and I don't know how to fix it? Am...am I malfunctioning? Or am I supposed to feel like this?"
evilfusion
Lily looked over at the woman and delivered, in her own typically fashion, the deadpan reply, "It seems you already are capable of talking to me. Well done on your acheivement." She glanced towards #91 and Leuneth, and moved a little further from them, and closer towards Itsu and Padora. "Fine, I expect you wanted a real answer. Go ahead, talk my ear off. Don't be too roundabout about it, though. Uru conflicts with my attention span." This was only partly true, but if it would get the strange woman to get to a point faster, it wasn't really a lie. -- "Is that a no?" Ven wondered, tapping his fingers on his arm with subtle impatience. "I seem to be short one method of teleportation, you see, and require either you or Ren to provide me with this method." In truth, he did have a way to get from the throne room to another destination, but it took longer and had much more steps than simply conjuring a rift and walking through it, particularly since he could only go to pre-arranged locations. Being the only true human among the Yliaster Emperors, he accepted that travel was a lot more difficult than it was for the others.
Dementuo
Sven looked over at Ven, and unsheathed his sword once more. "My apologies, go right ahead." Sven said, cutting open a rift. He sheathed his sword again, and looked back down to the viewpoint. -MEANWHILE- "...I'm sorry, that's something I can't do." Leuneth said. "But you seem to be well on your way to harboring one..." Leuneth said. "Already, you're experiencing emotions... A good first step to take... However, that is all I can give you." Leuneth said. "However... Through this duel, you may find more of yourself than you previously knew existed..." Leuneth said. "Now, please... Take your turn."
evilfusion
Ven nodded and stepped through the rift, shutting his eyes at the last moment to prevent excessive disorientation when he appeared within the station. He gazed around carefully to get his bearings, and drew his gray cloak around himself. He still had the mental picture of the Blackwing Signer's whereabouts, and so he set off in that direction at a leisurely pace, sparing only some of the duelists he passed a moment of interest. The numbers had truly dwindled since the tournament's beginning, yet he was not too concerned. The tournament barely mattered any more, beyond some misguided motivation for certain duelists to fight. Under his arm, Ven carried his Duel Board. He wasn't going so far that he needed to walk, but the tournament did permit Turbo Duels, and so after a number of ground duels, he had the belief some of the Duelists may be inclined for a change of pace. He soon found the place where he had last seen Strata, in the wake of Zeta's defeat, and he addressed the Blackwing Signer with a pleasant. "Hello there." Zextra
"Now, I'll go next..." Nikki declared, drawing her sixth card. "The hydras have been frozen in time... for when they meet the ice age, their fates clatter and perish. With the death of one comes a birth of another" Nikki chanted, snatching a card from her hand. "With that, arise! Freezecore Dragon - Sapphire!" she called, sliding a card onto her duel disk. A glistering haze in the shape of a dragon materialized in the air. "Now, I'll end my turn by placing two cards face-down."she pushed two cards into two slots on her duel disk and lowered her arm. Dementuo
"...My turn... Draw." Leuneth stated, drawing his sixth card. "I summon... Infernity Necromancer... By his effect, he is switched to Defense mode." Leuneth said, as the necromancer appeared, in a defensive stance. "Next, I'll activate Infernity's Curse - The Anubis... This allows me to discard cards from my hand in order to destroy a monster on the field with a level equal to that of the number of cards I sent..." Leuneth said. "I now send the four cards in my hand to the grave... And destroy your Freezecore Dragon, Nikki..." Leuneth said, as he prepared to empty his hand. Zextra
"You just made my life easier, Leneuth..." Nikki smiled, grasping a card from her hand. "When Sapphire is destroyed, it instantly replaces itself with a Freezecore Dragon from my hand, and I select my Freezecore Dragon - Glacier!" She slapped the card onto her duel disk, and a white, snowy dragon appeared, shooting a glint of bright ice at Infernity Necromancer. The ice hit Infernity Necromancer and latched itself onto it. "You see, when my Glacier is Summoned, I can place an Icicle Void Counter on a monster on the field. Then, that monster can't be removed from the field except by battle or by a card effect that I control..." she explained. "You know what that means, don't you?" Dementuo
"Yes, I do know what that means... It means that my Infernity Necromancer is sealed off. However... And I choose Infernity Archfiend..." Leuneth said, as the strangly-colored fiend appeared. "Now... His effect. I can add an Infernity card to my hand..." Leuneth said. "I add Infernity Launcher, and activate it." Leuneth stated. (Response?) "Now, by the effect of Infernity Launcher... I am allowed to Special Summon two Infernity Monsters... I select Infernity Beetle... And Infernity Dwarf..." Leuneth said, as the two monsters appeared. "Now... I will tribute my Beetle in order to bring out two more... Then, I will tune my Level 2 Infernity Beetle with my Level 4 Infernity Archfiend, and Level 2 Infernity Dwarf... To Synchro Summon my Infernity Death Dragon." Leuneth said, as the first beetle burst into two rings, and the Archfiend and Dwarf glided through the rings, transforming into their respective stars. A flash of light enveloped the rings, and they had been replaced by the large dragon. "Now... His effect..." Leuneth said. "Once per turn, while I contain no cards in my hand, I can destroy a monster you control, and burn you for half of its Attack." Leuneth said. "Niw... Infernity Death Dragon, destroy Glacier with Infernity Death Flare..." Leuneth said, as a wave of blue flame eminated from the dragon.
Zextra
"That's where you're wrong... I activate my Spell Card, Twister!" Nikki declared, revealing her card. Zextra
"You've yet to see the strength of these frozen creatures..." Nikki sighed as her dragon shattered and her Life Points dropped to 6150. Suddenly, a bright, blue light emerged from Glacier's shattered remain, and a freezing haze covered the field. A massive blue and white dragon took form, shooting two white icicles at Infernity Death Dragon and Infernity Beetle. "When my Glacier is destroyed, I am allowed to Special Summon a Freezecore Dragon from my Deck. Now, meet the former king of the icy depths, Freezecore Dragon-Blizzard!" she called, as the two icicles fused with leneuth's two monsters. "Now, first of all, when Blizzard is summoned, he places two counters on any monsters I choose. The first counter was an Icicle Void Counter, which, as you already know the effects of, has latched itself upon your Infernity Beetle. However, the second counter was a Freeze Wrath Counter, and I can assure you, this one's more nasty: Since your dragon absorbed the Freeze Wrath Counter, it can no longer attack nor activate its effects!" Nikki pointed at Infernity Death Dragon, which had an icicle stuck to its chest, and frost emitting from its mouth. "And lastly, my Blizzard's Attack points rise by 300 for each Freezecore Dragon in my Graveyard!" she declared as Blizzard's ATK rose from 2900 to 3500.
