Lily flinched as the Trap flipped up. "Trap Activate!" she said, sounding almost panicked. "Dark Spirit Art- Greed! I Tribute one DARK monster, such as Tragoedia, and then draw 2 cards! But if you reveal a Spell in your hand, the effect is negated. So...what do you do?"

Tragoedia vanished, leaving Slate Warrior alone. Lily waited expectantly, her eyes on the remaining card in Kirin's hand.

Lily flicked two cards into her hand and watched as Splendid Rose tore down her Slate Warrior (ATK: 950). Pain wracked her body, but she endured it with only a slight grimance.

"When Slate Warrior is defeated in battle, the monster that destroyed it loses 500 ATK and DEF," she noted.

"I decide not to show a Spell card" Kirin declared ad Greed's effect took place. "However, it's time to end this..." Kirin muttered. "Twin Tytannials, attack now!" Kirin declared. Each princess fired off a bombardment of blossoms, shooting them at the opposing duelist. "If this works...it's over...but something tells me she's not quite finished yet..." Kirin thought. "But... Even if this doesn't work, I still have 'that' to use..." Kirin watched the monsters attack, awaiting a response.

Lily just chuckled. "Did you really think I'd have left myself open to losing the duel just to draw cards, if I wasn't already prepared to counter?" she asked, taking a card from her hand and placing it on her disk. A strange monster with a pendulum appeared, the pendulum swinging and sending ripples of sound towards her opponent's Duel Disk. (Lvl 1, 0/0)

"When my opponent declares a direct attack, I can Special Summon Battle Fader from my hand, and end the Battle Phase," she explained. [i]And in using my Trap, I saved myself some Battle Damage and got more cards.[/i]

"Have you finished your turn?" Lily asked, betraying a little smugness in her voice.

Dante exited from the shadows of the halls back into the lobby. "I need to redeem my self." He pulled out a holo-screen and selected a man in the crowd ,"Zeta...". He approached the man and attempt to challenge him, "Hello, my name is Dante. Would you honor me to a duel". He had is perfected fake smile on. Dante thought to himself, fantastic I can win a normal duel and regain my confindence while Seriph is preparing. Hopeful to a favorable response he added to his request, "Will you favor turbo or normal style dueling." Dante thought, I need to duel anyway the less contestants the better.

"Of course you wouldn't simply leave it at that" Kirin said. "Well, in that case, I don't have much more to do... Why don't you continue" Kirin gestured, ending his turn. "Well, knowing her, shell probably kill my setup next turn..." Kirin sighed. "However, I still have a plan. I just hope it will be enough" Kirin looked at his opponent. "Well then... It doesn't seem as if I can hide you for much longer..." Kirin thought silently, planning his next move.

"Then it's my turn!" Lily announced, drawing and looking at the card, a smirk crossing her face. "I activate Solidarity! As long as this Spell remains in play and if I have only one Type of monster in my graveyard, all monsters on my field of the same type gain 800 ATK. As the only monsters in my Graveyard are Fiends, my Fiends will gain 800 ATK!"

She smiled a bit. "Next, I Summon Stygian Securities!" (Lvl 1, 100/600) "And for an added punch, I remove the Stygian Street Patrol in my Graveyard to Special Summon one Fiend in my hand with 2000 ATK or less, such as Sangan!" (Lvl 3, 1000/600)

"I tune my level three Sangan, level one Stygian Securities, and level one Battle Fader!" A black void sucked in the pendulum monster, leaving behind a single star, which joined with the 3 stars left by Sangan, and they passed through a single green ring. A pillar of light ripped through the line of stars, and a fiendish group of monsters appeared.

"Synchro Summon: Stygian Sergeants!" (Lvl 5, 2200/1800)

Lily smiled. "Sangan was sent from the field to the Graveyard, so I add one monster with 1500 ATK or less from my deck to my hand. I select Dark Resonator!" she extracted the card from her deck and placed it into her hand.

"Since Stygian Securities is a Fiend type monster, it gets 800 ATK!" (ATK: 3000)

"Now, attack Tytannial!" The fiends lunged at the plant and struck it.

"When Stygian Sergeants destroys a monster in battle, its gets 800 more ATK and can attack again, so I'll destroy your Splendid Rose!" (3000->3800) The fiends slashed their weapons across the second monster.

Lily folded her arms. "Turn End."

Kirin was pushed back from the force of the attack as his Life Points dropped by 2300 (LP: 5700). The attack left several scratches on his face. He pulled himself up. "Heh...if this is what a normal monster can do, I wonder what power that Spider possesses..." Kirin shot a rough smile at the figure. "It won't be that easy...It's my turn now..." Kirin declared as he drew a card. "Now, I'm switching Tytannial to Defense Position, and I'll end my turn with one face-down card" Kirin placed the card into the slot. "This is my last chance..." he thought.

Katsuya discarded The White Stone of Legend (300/200) from his hand. And proceeded to draw 2 cards.

"Very well," Lily said, drawing her card. "I summon Dark Resonator!" A small fiend carrying a tuning fork materialized alongside the Synchro. (Lvl 3, 1300/300) "Since it is a Fiend, it gains 800 more ATK!" (ATK: 2100)

"Now, Stygian Sergeants, attack Tytannial! And let's not forget, when my Sergeants destroys a monster in battle, it gets 800 more ATK and can attack again...for your sake, you best not already by at the end of your rope." The sergeants charged forward, raising their weapons to strike the plant princess.

"Activate Trap Card! Wall of Thorns! This trap card repels your attack and destroys all your monsters in Attack Position!" Kirin called as a giant, thorny obstacle obstructed the way as Stygian Sergeants closed in on Tytannial. "Well, it'll buy be another turn..." Kirin felt himself panicking slightly. "Wow...it's the first time anybody's made me really care for this game..." Kirin thought. "but I need to start getting serious...If I play at this level, I won't be able to do much more..." Kirin clenched a fist and awaited the Sergeants to crash into the wall...

The thorns snaked among Lily's monsters and they blew apart in a rain of pixels. She frowned a little. "I end my turn," she stated after a pause, examining the cards in her hand and nodding. [i]That had to be one of the most fortunate draws he could have gotten at this stage, but the duel isn't quite over yet. I may be in a corner at the moment, but it will only last so long.[/i]

She clenched one fist determinedly. She could overcome this duelist...it was all but necessary.

He managed to destroy one of his altars, how annoying. Oh well, he had to observe this flurry of summonings but, he'd let them continue on as the attack came.

Gabriel said as the two defense position Tokens simply hovered around, almost taunting Katsuya. More importantly, things would be getting interesting.

"I'm not going to last any longer if I don't step things up a bit" Kirin thought as he drew. "I'm summoning my Bird of Roses!" A red and green bird flew out of the vortex. "Now, I'm switching Tytannial into Attack Position!" Kirin commanded as the princess stood up, ready to strike. "Now, Tytannial! Attack directly!" Kirin declared as Tytannial prepared yet another petal bombardment. (Response? If not, then...) "Now, Bird of Roses, you're next!" Kirin called as the botanical bird shot out a several roses, their thorny stems pointed towards the figure. "Now, to end my turn, I place a card face-down..." Kirin said, sliding another card into the disk. "If this works properly, then I'll be able to Summon my dragon" he thought.

Katsuya watched as the dragon spit fire from it's mouth, pretty much disintegrating the token of mist that occupied the area. Just then, a shroud of mist formed around the dragon. Katsuya had a slight look of concern on his face, [i]Now I'm not sure what that monster does that is removed from play. But it probably cannot be good for me. And if I have to wait until 10 Mist Tokens are destroyed to find out, I had BETTER come up with a plan.[/i] Looking down at his deck he continues, [i]There is one card that could possible help me, but I have roughly 10 or more attacks to draw it.[/i] Looks back up at Gabriel, [i]But I'm a Kaiba, and I must do what I can to bring that card out and prevent his monster from itting the field![/i]

As Gabriel Drew the card, he grinned wickedly. How amusing he'd get this after the Altar's destruction. He'd have to deal with the facedown first. It would cost him a moment but he'd get it back later.

Gabriel said as he picked up Mist Reincarnation.

The area was soon engulfed in a thick fog and encrouched by a large series of cliffs.

However, if you want to use them in a tribute, the tribute cost is doubled. As well, as long as it's on my side of the field, I don't receive any life point damage from an attack or effect targetting any type of Mist Token. With that, I end my turn."[/b]

A black fog surrounded a spot in front of Lily, and once it faded, the fiend Synchro had returned. (Lvl 5, 2200/1800)

"Trap card, open! Shift! This card forces you to attack a monster of my choosing, and I switch the attack target to Bird of Roses!" Kirin called as the twin Sergeants directed their attack towards the flowery bird. (LP: 4500) However, as it was destroyed, two monsters replaced it. "You see, when Bird of Roses is attacked and destroyed by battle, I get to Special Summon 2 Plant Tuners from my Deck. Meet Copy Plant and Nettles!" Two plants replaced the bird; one looking like a green puffball, and the other resembling a mutated treestump.

Lily looked genuinely surprised. It wasn't the move that had caught her by surprise, but the fact she had predicted it. She had deliberately gone out of her way to prevent her opponent getting those Tuners, but it hadn't quite worked out. However, prediction was not the same as being able to do anything about it. "So be it. I place two cards facedown and set a monster in defense position. With that, I will decide to end my turn..." she smiled wryly. "So show me what your Tuners can do in this situation. It's your move."

Zeta just smiled as he went to the person Dante. "Sure! I prefer normal duels over turbo ones though." He said. He then took out his deck, put it into his Duel Disk, and as he did, activated his Duel Disk. He could see that this person had already lost once, so he didn't have to hold back his hold over shadows. He was the clone of the Prince of Darkness after all, [i]and[/i] a Dark Signer. The Darkness was powerful with him. "Get your game on, Dante, 'cause I'm going to win! Draw!" And Zeta drew his card. "I now set a monster!" And then a card appeared face-down and horizontal on the field. "Then I throw down two face-downs and end my turn!"

"Gladly" Kirin replied as he was about to draw his card. Suddenly, a harsh, pink light encased his body. Once it dissipated, Kirin's body was cloaked by a pinkish aura. His eyes started glowing faintly red. "Now, where was I?" he muttered, feeling a new power. "Ah, yes...draw!" Kirin vigorously pulled out a card from his deck. "Now, I activate a Spell...Fragrance Storm!" A blossom appeared, encasing Tytannial, destroying it. "Now, I get to draw a card by Tributing a plant-type monster I control!" Kirin explained, drawing another card from his deck. "Oh, and look what we have here? I just drew Botanical Lion, and since it's a monster card, I'm allowed to draw again!" Kirin called, slipping another card out from his Duel Disk. "Now, I summon Botanical Lion, and I'm Tuning it with Nettles!" he called as the green rings circled around the lion, replacing it with another flowery princess-like monster. "Meet Queen of Thorns!" he called. "But...don't get too acquainted, she's not going to be here long....I'm tuning Queen of Thorns to Copy Plant! Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!" Kirin chanted, as the flowery being combined with the mutated stump, causing a giant, rosy dragon to appear. "Now, I'm activating Black Rose Dragon's effect, which nukes the field!" Kirin called.

Strata walked out onto one of the many open areas at the station. He noticed a duel going on between somone using Plants and someone using Feinds. He walked over to the duel. "... Wait, that's the spider girl..." Strata said to himself, noticing Lily. He also noticed the plant duelist. "...I'm in no condition to be dueling right now, but I still should be able to watch this one..." Strata tought. He then noticed the Black Rose Dragon. Immediately, his mark startedglowing again. "Urgh... Again? It has to be because of that dragon..." Strata thought, looking at Black Rose, as it tried to destroy the field.

Leuneth looked down at the duel between Lily and Kirin. "And there's that kid again... Wonder how he'll use that card of his..." Leuneth thought. "...Why are these things happening... And why do I even care...?" Leuneth thought. "..." Leuneth continued to observe the duel.

[i]Black Rose Dragon?[/i] Lily thought, her eyes widening. She could feel the utter loathing of Uru from within her, and upon hearing its effect, she couldn't bear to stand there and do nothing.

"Trap Activate! Fiendish Chain!" Lily announced. A whip-like chan wrapped around Black Rose Dragon's neck, and many more like it clamped onto various other parts of the dragon's body, completely binding it. "As long as this Trap is in play, your Dragon cannot attack and its effects are negated."

She smirked a little. "Did you honestly think I'd throw down so many cards if there was even the slightest chance a monster could so easily wipe them all out?"

"and I don't know how much longer I will be able to hold up for..." he thought. "Perhaps the power of the Radiating Heart is fading...but I have to hold on for another turn. If I can just do that, then there's a chance I can win this duel" he wobbled a bit but caught himself. "Just one more turn..." he kept telling himself.

"Then it's my turn!" Lily said and drew her next card, glancing at it for a moment. "Stygian Sergeants, attack Black Rose Dragon!" she commanded. The fiends raised their weapons and obediently closed in on the immobilized dragon. As far as Lily could tell, her opponent had been grasping at straws when Summoning his Synchro monster, desperately hoping to avoid her aggressive tactic. At this rate, he wouldn't last much longer. The score was close, but there was only so long that would last. If it weren't for Wicked Rebirth negating the effect, she would probably have won this duel by now.

Kirin's eyes flashed. "You honestly don't believe that Black Rose was summoned for nothing do you?" Kirin watched as Black Rose Dragon was torn apart (LP: 4100). "Now! At this moment, I activate the power of Radiating Heart!" Kirin called as a pink orb appeared outside the left side of his body. "Black Rose was just the beginning...now you'll have to deal with much more.... By tuning the Copy Plant in my Graveyard with the Black Rose Dragon which was just destroyed alongside Botanical Girl from my deck, Limit Synchro!!! Majestic blossoms engulf and ensnare the opposition. The pitch-dark flower evolves, blooming into infinity! Limit Synchro Summon! Arise now, Rose Eclipse Dragon!" Three orbs of light emitted from Kirin's duel disk and shone brightly in the sky. One of the orbs expanded into a silhouette of Black Rose Dragon, and the other into Botanical Girl. The last one formed surrounding green circles. A magnificent red light boomed out, as an enormous, red dragon descended. "Now, you are forced to answer to it..." Kirin explained as he started breathing harder. "Once my...Rose Eclipse Dragon is Synchro Summoned, it nukes the entire field but itself...Now, Rose Apocalypse!" The mighty dragon howled, causing a storm of razor-sharp petals to surround the field.

This card can only be Synchro Summoned when a monster you control is destroyed. This card can be Synchro Summoned using monsters in your Graveyard. When this card is successfully Synchro Summoned, send all cards on the field to the Graveyard except this card. This card cannot attack the turn it is Synchro Summoned. Once per turn, you can remove from play a monster in your Graveyard to negate the activation of a Spell, Trap, or monster effect that targets or destroys this card during the Battle Phase. If you negate a card effect this way, inflict 700 damage to your opponent. When this card is destroyed while there are 4 or more Tuners in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon a "Black Rose Dragon" in your Graveyard with its ATK halved. "Black Rose Dragon" cannot attack the turn it is Special Summoned by this effect. When your opponent's monster declares an attack you can select it, then remove this card from play and negate the attack. During the End Phase, Special Summon this card that was removed from play by this effect.
