"Alright... My turn!" Strata said. "Let's see... With this card... Hm..." Strata thought over the possibilities he had. "I can't save Black Feather Dragon forever, unless I was to get rid of Chaos King Archfiend, or Dark Ruler Ha Des. If I had to destroy Dark Ruler Ha Des, then I would have to keep her from summoning anything with over 1600 attack... Scrap-Iron Scarecrow can only be used once per turn... And then I have that face-down card... Plus this card in my hand..." Strata thought. "...Alright, let's see how this'll play out." Strata thought. "I activate Black Feather Rebound! I remove thiscwed from play this turn, but during any turn after that, I can raise the attack strength of one monster I control by the same as another Blackwing monster I control. However, I have to send that Blackwing monster to the grave, and during the End Phase of the turn I use this card, I take damage equal to that monster's Original Attack! I remove Blackwing Armor Master!"

"Now, Black Feather Dragon! Attack his Chaos Kig Archfiend! His effect only works when he attacks, meaning that he'll lose this battle!" Strata said.

Lily smirked. "I was wondering if you'd do something like that. I didn't expect it to be so...painful. For you, that is! Trap Activate! Hate Buster!" A Trap flipped up, revealing a monster being hit by the Dark Ruler Ha Des. "This Trap can only be activated when a Fiend Type monster on my field is attacked! I destroy the attacking monster and the attacked Fiend, and then you take damage equal to the original Attack of your destroyed monster."

"In other words, Blackfeather Dragon and my Chaos Archfiend will be destroyed, and then Blackfeather's 2800 ATK will be deducted from your lifepoints."

[i]He has Kalut in his hand, and his only Trap on the field is Scrap Iron Scarecrow, a painful nuisance, but it will only last so long. He has nothing to stop this play, and during the End Phase, Armor Master's 2500 ATK will also be subtracted from his Lifepoints.[/i]

Lily grinned as an aura surrounded Chaos King Archfiend and Blackfeather Dragon.

"I still haven't Normal Summoned yet, so I summon Kalut the Moon Shadow." Strata said. "At least I can still give this guy Armor Master's power next turn..." Strata thought. "Alright, I end my turn." Strata said. "...If I can just draw one card next turn... Just one... That should be enough to get me out of this mess..." Strata thought. "And I have to win. Otherwise, I'll never be able to beat Akarui. I can't let Akarui get to the top so easily." Strata thought. "Just one last turn to pull things together... One more." Strata thought.

Chaos King Archfiend also shattered, but Lily merely smiled, an expression devoid of warmth.

"My turn," she stated, drawing her card. "I summon Card Guard!" A strange white and red fiend materialized, seemingly standing on a Duel Monster's card. (Lvl 4, 1600/500) "When Card Guard is Summoned, it gets one Guard Counter, and it gets 300 ATK for that counter." (ATK: 1900)

"However, by moving that counter to a faceup card on my field, like my Ha Des...I can prevent that card's destruction by removing the counter instead." A glowing green sphere drifted from Card Guard upon the fiend overlord, which cackled. Card Guard, now lacking the counter, lost its temporary gain (ATK: 1600)

"Dark Ruler Ha Des will attack Kalut!" Lily announced, pointing her hand forward. The fiend formed a blob of energy in its goblet-less claw and hurled it at the Blackwing monster.

"I won't waste my cards so easily. I activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. You know what this does already, so I don't need to explain." Strata said. "Even though Card Guard is still powerful enough to destroy Kalut, I still need to save my Rebound for later." Strata thought. "I need to draw the right card for this next step to work..." Strata thought. "And if I can't then I might lose come next turn. And I can't let that happen in my first duel... I have to keep my wins up so that I can stay alive longer." Strata thought. "The longer I survive this tournament, the better my hances of facing off against Akarui are. Now if I can just get Black Feather Dragon back..." Strata thought.

Ha Des' attack hit the Scarecrow and dissipated harmlessly, the Trap flipping right back facedown. "Card Guard, it's your turn, rid the field of his Kalut," Lily said, calmly snapping her fingers. The smaller fiend launched at Kalut, drawing back its claws and striking at the bird.

Lily nodded. "That will end my turn, so do show me what else you have." [i]It's about time I reclaimed some control in this Duel. Uru chose me and this fly won't stop me from winning this tournament. I must win...[/i] she blinked several times, feeling the subtle throbbing of the Spider Mark on her arm. Uru wanted more from her, but she would not consent. She wanted to have this duel to the end, win or lose...and just once more feel like she was more than a Dark Signer.

Kalut blew apart at the strike of the fiend. "Urgh..." (LP: 5000) "My turn now." Strata said as he drew his card. He looked at it for a moment, then chuckled a bit. "You know, this has been one of the hardest duels I've had in a long time." Strata said. "Still, I can't afford to lose here. I activate Black Barrier." Strata said. "Now, so long as I remove a Blackwing monster from my Graveyard for each one, your attacks are negated. Another thing I would like to mention. You destroy this card, and I get to summon a monster from my Graveyard by removing Blackwing monsters whose levels match that of the monster I wish to summon. And since I've got plenty of Blackwings, I'll be fine." Strata said as a large wall of faint darkness surrounded him. "Turn End." Strata said.

"Stalling?" Lily mused, drawing a card and smirking. "It'll only last you so long. I remove Sangan, Dark Resonator, and Chaos King Archfiend from my Graveyard from play to Special Summon Dark Necrofear!"

A purple stream of light surrounded Lily, and a tall, blue-skinned humanoid fiend appeared, holding the broken remains of what seemed to be a doll. Its eyes glinted with malicious light. (Lvl 7, 2200/2800) "To summon this monster, I must remove 3 Fiend monsters from my Graveyard, and like you and your Blackwings, I have plenty of Fiends, don't I?" she smiled.

"I attack you directly with all three of my monsters. You'll probably use Scrap Iron to block one, but you'll lose 2 Blackwings from your Graveyard every turn if you don't do something else soon. I end my turn with that."

(LP: 3400) "My turn." Strata said. He once again looked at the card he drew. "Perfect." Strata thought. "I set a card, and end my turn." Strata said. "Now then... C'mon, take the bait." Strata thought. "You know what I can do with Black Barrier, and you know you could win." Strata thought. "Just take the bait I set for you..." Strata thought, waiting for Lily to make her move.

Lily raised an eyebrow. [i]He took Card Guard's attack? Why? Are the Blackwings in his Graveyard so important he won't give them up?[/i] she wondered. "My turn," she stated, drawing smoothly. "I'll attack directly with the Dark Ruler Ha Des!" The fiend took a sip of its wine, throwing a cursed projectile towards Strata. "If you use Barrier or Scrap Iron, I'll continue my attack with Dark Necrofear. And then I'll finish my attacks with Card Guard!"

Of course, she was fully aware that, with a new facedown card on the field, things might not progress that smoothly.

"I activate my Quick-Play Spell card, Double Cyclone! Now I get to destroy a spell or trap you have on the field along with a spell or trap I have on the field. This way, I'll get rid of that face-down card, destroy Black Barrier, AND get to revive my Black Feather Dragon! Unless, of course, you have somethig to respond with?" Strata said. "So long as this doesn't get countered, I can take out a Shura and a Bora to bring back Black Feather Dragon, then I can use him to get out of this mess." Strata thought. "Amd with him back, I'll be able to match the power of all of her monsters, which will give me another advantegde. However, I have to be careful not to lose him this time." Strata thought.

"I activate the Trap: Dark Spirit Art- Greed!" Lily announced. "I Tribute one DARK monster, like Card Guard, and in exchange, I draw 2 cards. However, my opponent can negate this by revealing a Spell card from his hand." She smiled briefly. "You have no cards in your hand to reveal, and so that doesn't look like it will be a concern."

She flicked two cards from the top of her deck into her hand, but showed no reaction to the cards. The trap shattered afterwards, as did Strata's Black Barrier. Once again, her arm throbbed painfully upon the return of Strata's Dragon.

"Dark Ruler Ha Des cannot defeat Blackfeather Dragon in battle, so I will instead enter my Main Phase 2. I will switch Dark Necrofear to defense position. After that, I set one card facedown and set one monster. That will do for my turn."

Quickly becoming bored with the duel he's observing, Katsuya gets up and walks to another hallway. [i]Maybe another day for him.[/i] He turns an see's a duel between two individuals. One had 3 monsters on the field, creepy looking monsters, and the other was caught in a whirlwind. Then rising from the ground, Black-Winged Dragon appeared. Katsuya's eyes grew big. [i]One of the legendary dragon's! Could this possibly be?! I have got to get my hands on it. But first...[/i]

Katsuya went and sat down on the bench waiting to see what the dragon is capable of. And scouting out his first opponent of the night.
[i]If this dragon is on this station, that must mean it's crawling with the other's too, hopefully.[/i]

"You seem to be intruged by something, Mr...." Nikki said, appearing behind the man. "And you also seem eager to duel..." she pointed out. "So, what will it be?" she asked, looking up at Katsuya. "Why don't you entertain me?" Nikki raised her arm, her black, wing-like duel disk activating. The two blades slid out of the center gem, where the rainbow aura of the Ener-D started glowing. Nikki looked at her "opponent", waiting for his response.

Katsuya looked at the ladie who challenged him.

[b]"My name will play no part just yet."[/b] As he said with a grin on his face. Katsuya started to pull off his back pack and take out his duel disk. As he attached it to his wrist he opened up his Tux jacket he was wearing and reached into a pocket. Pulling out his dueling deck and placing it into the duel disk.

[b]"Now I'm pretty sure I will entertain you, but the question is...can you entertain me?"[/b] Katsuya let out a feint laugh. [b]"After all, it'll be a shock when you find out who I am. We will duel in a traditional 8000 LP duel. And since you are the challenger, I will let you make the first move."[/b]

He drew his Starting hand, grinned, and waited for the girl to commence with the duel...

"Aww...aren't you sweet?" Nikki said in a fake, happy tone. "Well, then, let's start..." Nikki picked up her top five cards, then drew a sixth. "Void Lockdown Hydra, arise! (ATK 1900)" Nikki called, slamming a card down on her duel disk. A giant, fiendish multi-headed reptile arose from the depths of a blue vortex. "Now, we're simply limited to the cards in our Hands" Nikki explained, as the hydra shot a purple fume at both players' duel disks. "Next, I'm placing two cards face-down, and that'll end my turn..." Nikki slid two cards into the slots on her duel disk, and lowered her arm. "Now, let me see what you can do" she mused.

"Alright, my turn. Draw." Strata said. "Black Feather Dragon is back with me now, which gives me a little more room." Strata thought. "I activate the spell card, Against the Wind. This card allows me to add any Blackwing monster from my Graveyard to my hand, but I take damage equal to that monster's Attack. However, with Black Feather Dragon on my field, his attack is reduced by the same ammount instead!" Strata said. "I choose to add Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow back to my hand!" Strata said.

"Now, I activate the effect of Black Feather Dragon! This allows me to return his attack to its original state, then I lower the attack of your monsters by the same amount! So now your Dark Ruler Ha Des would now have only 1050 attack!" Strata said. "With that, I'll end my turn." Strata said.

As Katsuya looked at her move, he was surprised.

[b]"Interesting first move my lady, this is going to be interesting then.[/b] Katsuya looked at his hand. Picking up a card towards the middle of his hand and placing it inside his duel disk.

[b]"I activate, Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy the face-down card to your left! This should level the field out a bit."[/b]

Lily frowned, observing her Ha Des groaning as its points decreased to such a paltry amount. (ATK: 1050) Dark Necrofear did similarly, but its defense was unscathed. (ATK: 800/DEF: 2800)

"My turn, then," she stated smoothly, drawing her card. [i]I see...his dragon can negate effect damage, and then weaken my monsters. In the current scenario, defeating it in battle will be difficult.[/i] She looked at the card thoughtfully. [i]Let's not forget about his Spell's effect, the one that can boost his monster by 2500 in exchange for 2500 Burn during the End Phase. His dragon will negate the damage...interesting combo, but ultimately useless.[/i]

"I activate Book of Moon, to flip Dark Necrofear facedown," she said calmly, her monster disappearing behind a card-image. "Since that does not count as my once-per-turn allowance to switch Battle Positions, I shall then flip it faceup," she said. From beneath the card, the tall blue-fleshed humanoid reappeared. "Being set facedown removes the effect of Blackfeather's reduction effect, so its ATK is back at 2200."

"Well, that couldn't be helped...but no matter...let us carry on" she looked back at the man. "Well, I just need to act out a couple more steps and then we'll see whether he'll remain standing or not" Nikki thought. "However, since this is my first duel, and I'm not supposed to attract attention, I'll let this one go free" she decided, studying the field and each player's current position. "Now, if I can just get him to do 'that'..." Nikki looked in her hand...

Dante grew frustrated, he was virtual denied any attack. "Athena send Consecrated Light to the grave by your effect to special summon Vairon Vanguard to the field." Censtated Light sank into the ground and from which Vanguard rose. "Then I equip my Vairon Material to Vanguard. At least my monsters wont be beat so easily." Dante begun to grind his teeth, "dammit," he said under his breath. I can't lose Seriph has entrusted me with so much I can't betray that. "I end my turn."

Parshath collided with the thorned wall and in an explosion he was gone. "Oh, well one thing I like about Parshath is his tendency to come back for a rematch. I place one card face-down." Seriph had a faint smile on his face, "Why do you resist an inevitable truth, an oncoming fate. Destiny is such a powerful force, I am not saying to take a path of least resistance, I am saying that my light will encompass all accept it." Seriph's face suddenly became serious, "accept or perish with the darkness." He raised his head and looked at Kirin as if he were inferior, "Process my words carefully. I end my turn."

I'm better off safe than sorry, so I'll activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. You know what this does." Strata said as the scarecrow revealed itself once more, fending off the attack. "Black Feather Dragon will be my ticket to victory here. Now I just need to put it to use..." Strata thought. "And I can still use my Black Rebound, even if she tries BOTH strategies... And then I'll be able to use the burn from my Black Rebound to reduce her monsters' ATK down to nothing. And if need be, I still have Kalut in my hand. Now, if I can just survive this turn." Strata thought.

Zero drew his card then looked at it with a grin, [color=blue]Now I'll equip my Morphtronic Videon with the equip spell Spirit Slayer, and with its effect I'll select your Vairon Vanguard so he's loosing 500 attack and Videon gains 500 attack along with an extra 800 from his own effect so he'll be taking your Athena and then Radion will take out Varion Vanguard and I'll finish up with my Morphtronic Magnens and with 1600 attack each they should be finishing the cleanup.[/color]

"Activate Trap: Dark Illusion!" Lily said, her facedown flipping up. "This card can be activated when a Spell, Trap, or Monster Effect targets a DARK type monster. Dark Necrofear is a DARK monster and Scrap-Iron Scarecrow targeted it. So your Trap is negated and destroyed!"

A shroud of darkness surrounded the scarecrow and it shattered apart, at last ridding her of that nuisance. Dark Necrofear continued its assault undaunted, and slammed its glowing hands into Blackfeather Dragon. Lily gave no indication of activating a card from her hand, merely awaited the battling of their monsters.
