[The Warden]

~Rules of Battle~

1: Powers only; items or modifications of any kind are strictly forbiddon. (Think about this one carefully.)

2: No robot forms; it's cheap being immue to exhaustion, having a more durable body etc. Transformations are allowed, just no robot transformations.

3: We are allowed one turn each in the start to prepare an attack or support skill without interuption.

4: Fleeing is allowed, rendering the battle forfeit.


::Broken's Arena::

The area is a desert with hard stone ground. There is little life out here, a stray cacti but nothing else. There are two lines of dark red dirt that run across this world, inevitably meeting at the heart of it. This place is called 'The Crosspaths of Heart'. It is here destiny is decided, choose your strategies wisely, and show no mercy.


~Interuption free turn~

Broken stepped out of a portal into the arena. He was wearing a simple tunic which was buttoned up on the left side. On the right breastside was a shattered heart. His thin pants clung to his legs, with his iron toed boots rising up to halfway his lower leg. The pants were tucked into the boots. He lightly dusted himself off with his gloves. His outfit was simplistic, but provided good mobility. Seeing no one else here, he decided to take the chance for some preparation. He began to dance in some strange form of ritual, he was chanting some unusual mantra, in which the word 'heart' kept appearing every so often.

[Shadow Zero]

~Free turn~

At a place not to far from where Broken was, the air rippled outwards in the same fashion as water would had it been hit with a good sized rock. This was the indication of an otherwise invisible portal through which Shadow appeared. His current form was not so unlike that of a human form of Shadow the hedgehog, although he wielded powers greater then simple time manipulation. He wore Black clothing and had Black hair that went past his neck and had a red streak in it, wearing Black pants, a black sleeveless shirt, and a black sleeveless jacket that was open and went down to mid calf height. He wore black armbands that had some diamond shaped stones in them and the same type of shoes that Shadow the Hedgehog would have been seen wearing.

Upon appearing, Shadow turned his head to glance at the one that he was to fight. The mans name was Broken, and Shadow had met him time and again in other places, at other times. He had recently issued a challenge to anyone who would answer its call, a call to fight. Why? Simple, he was bored. But enough on the back story for now.

Broken seemed to be doing a ritualistic dance and chanting, the word Heart being distinctly heard every now and again. Deciding to make some preparations of his own, Shadow stomped one foot on the ground several times, each time causing a rectangular pillar of earth to appear. He then did some simple breathing exercises before summoning a mass of shadow energy around himself and each pillar. He was now ready, and would be able to utilize the shadow energy from anywhere it resided. "Are you ready?" was all that he said to Broken as he took a ready stance.

[The Warden]

Brokan finished by raising his lleft arm to the side, a chain of nine hearts appeared and a shimmering barrier appeared around Broken and vanished. 'Indeed I am, this will be rather entertaining' he said and leapt into the air, vanishing quickly. He reappeared about twenty feet away. Wasting no time he cupped his hands together and brought them forward, summoning an enormous skull. 'SCREAMER TIER EIGHT!' he cried. The skull screamed loudly, unleashing a large wave of darkness that began to cone out widely, with Shadow kept at the epicentre. The barrier around Broken shimmered as the spell was cast then vanished.


::Attack Tooltips::
Screamer Tier 1-8: A fear based Heart spell, those who are afflicted by it are instantly brought under its spell, being forced to face their fear, with each tier the fear they would face becomes worse until Tier 8, which is quite literally a Room 101.

[Shadow Zero]

Raising his arms, Shadow reaches out mentally and grabs hold of the darkness energy. "Oh please, how childish." With some effort, due to the spell being such a high tier one, Shadow pushes the darkness energy away from himself, with the aid of a rather large gust of wind. He then levitates off of the ground and folds his legs, going into a semi-trncelike state so as to more easily and readily be able to strike out using the shadow energy around him. He would wit until his enemy reappeared, and then he would plant a tracer. After tht, it would only be a matter of time.

[The Warden]

Broken grinned at Shadow's attempt to stop Screamer. 'If you think you won, you didn't Shadow, Screamer isn't something your powers can control. A wise man said 'we have nothing to fear but fear itself', which is what Screamer is, pure unbridled fear. You do not possess complete dominance over the heart, I do. Now enjoy your worst nightmares' he laughed and clicked his fingers, causing the Screamer field to collapse onto Shadow. [i]'This was too easy, how simple it was for him to make such a critical error'[/i] Broken thought

[Shadow Zero]

Shadow opened his eyes and unfolded his legs, taking a mid-air fighting stance. It wasn't exact, but he could guess Brokens location from the sound of his voice, and that was enough. First, he teleported so that he was standing on one of the earth pillars that he had summoned before, the central one, in fact. As he raised his hands to the air and used Vector Control to cause the air for a considerable distance to be filled with static electricity, the pools of shadow energy connected one to the other and rose up the pillars as well, expanding and multiplying as they did so. Looking around in the static filled air, Shadow found an area that was different from the rest, less staticy and circular in shape. [i]There, that's where he is.[/i]

Shadow teleported above Broken and fired off blasts of Darkness Energy that would slow his movements and Light energy that would burn away at him. Meanwhile, the area covered in shadow energy that they were still more or less above fired off a continuous barrage of Shadow Energy attacks upwards with a differential of approximately fifteen degrees from the vertical axis to completely vertical so as to have a wide are of firing capability. [i]Hopefully this works. I've invested quite a bit of energy into it. Still, it's not like I can't have the summoned Shadow energy be used in other ways as well....[/i]

[The Warden]

As the dust cleared, the barrier that was around Broken was still visible, it shimmered and vanished. He however, was on the ground. Part of his tunic was torn, revaling heavy padding underneath. He coughed loudly as he got to his feet, his hair was a mess. 'That was stronger than I had anticipated, I congratulate you on that. My barrier nulled some of that attack, but you did take a good piece of me out. Your only mistake was not killing me' he commented and readjusted his posture. He calmly raised his hands above his head as if to stretch. 'Screamer Tier Eight' he said calmly.

::Attack Tooltip: Guardian of Heart Tier Nine::
The most powerful of the Guardian of Heart defensive barriers. It serves to defend the user from the emotional energy radiating from most Heart-based spells and attacks. The barrier, once rasied can defend from other attacks as well, but it can be pierced by strong non-heart attacks. This is the only GoH defensive barrier that can protect the user from the ultimate Heart based skill.

[Shadow Zero]

[i]Crap![/i] Shadow wasn't able to get out of the way in time. He was able to move quickly enough to have some of the attack miss him, but still got hit. [i]Not good, don't know what this is going to do, but it doesn't feel like a normal attack.[/i] Unsure of exactly what was going to happen to him, Shadow allowed himself to fall onto the ground and landed on his feet. He quickly raised his hands and caused several twenty meter high tentacles to appear with spiked and barbed ends. At first, they did nothing, then they lowered themselves back in fifteen meters before shooting straight back up again. As they did so, they disappeared into a wavy puddle shaped light at six meters high and reappeared in the same fashion all around Heart, continuously slamming at him and then withdrawing, one immediately following the other. As the attack continued, Shadow felt as though something was happening to him. He was not yet sure just as to what, but whatever it was, he had a really bad feeling about it.

[The Warden]

Broken raised his arms to protect himself, but the tentacles wre beginning to....annoy him. 'I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS NONSENSE!' he shouted, a strange energy forming over his arms. 'Raging Impulse' he cried, unleashing the energy in his arms and severing the tentacles. He panted slightly, but tried to compose himself. 'Calm Broken calm, must not get angry, but not sink to [b]His[/b] level' he said to himself. he then realized the Screamer ad hit, and he looked over at Shadow. 'It's over' he said.

[Shadow Zero]

Shadow knew that Broken was right, but he refused to fall alone. By his estimate, he had enough time left for a few more attacks before completely succumbing. Even still, he could feel the nightmares pulling at him, wanting to trap him in a nightmarish state. Fortunately for him, he was always a fighter when it came to that. This situation was the same. Quickly and silently reciting the incantation of a spell, Shadow placed the tips of his middle and pointer fingers of his right hand against the shield that completely surrounded Broken in the place that was directly in front of his heart. "Hadou #4: Byaku-Rai." The pale lightning shot from his fingers, the concentration of its power into a single point surely enough to break through the shield and pierce Brokens heart, or at least that was the hope. However, in case that was not enough, there was another spell that he would use.

"Lord of the dreams that terrify, sword of cold and darkness free yourself from the heavens bonds. Make yourself one with my power, one with my body, and let us walk the path of destruction together, power that can smash even the souls of the gods! RAGNA BLADE!!!" A dark sphere of energy appeared in Shadows left hand, energy that was deeper then pitchest black which, as the incantation was finished, formed into the blade of its perfect form. In a single swift movement, Shadow lifted it above his head and slammed it through the shield surrounding Broken, aiming for Broken himself, and a finishing blow.

Spell notes: Ragna Blade
The Ragna Blade has the ability to slice through dimensions, and is said to be equally as powerful as the Giga Slave, a spell which is later to be found is the Lord of Nightmares itself. However, unlike the Giga Slave, the Ragna Blade will not go out of control and destroy the world when used, making it a far safer option. The Ragna Blade is one of the most powerful known spells of Black Magic to exist, and can cut through anything, even the most powerful of substances.

[i]'What the hell is he doing?'[/i] Broken thought as the bolt was aimed for his heart, it slammed into his chest and he was forced back a little. He let out a winded gasp and spat out a little blood 'Are you serious? Are you serious?' he inquired, but saw that Shadow was chanting some nonsense. 'I've had enough of this nonsense. Reasonance of Hearts, the Twin Seeds' he said and split apart into a white light and a dark light, which moved away about 30 feet away from Shadow. The white light reformed into the normal Broken, but the dark light formed into a more depraved looking one. His grinned with a full set of pearly white fangs. They were both sitting on a cactus and watching Shadow closely. [b]'Honestly, who the hell is he fooling'[/b] the darker Broken stated. 'I know right? Any smart person would have known point-blank long set-ups only work in video games, this isn't turn based combat' Broken added.
