Hey guys...I am Shadow, and I am new to this forum (although I registered a year ago lol)
Did not see a Monster Hunter thread, so just curious and want to know how many people here plays Monster Hunter?

I currently play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Monster Hunter Tri, but mainly Unite, and I am HR8 with around 350 hours of gameplay...Just got my Narga X set it's all good

Use to play Tri but stopped playing due to:

A)Don't have wifi (my modem does not have it <.<)
B)got bored because not much to do because i can't go online.
C)a pain in the rear to the parts i need (rare ones like Fearsome marrow)

Though Rathian was kinda the same until i fought her many times than she became really easy with Thunderclap.
Lagi was found especially underwater with Gobul's Lance(1st form). For some reason i found underwater combat easy when i played. Even against R. Ludroth all i did was get near the surface to fight them. though after getting a Fire LS he dies really fast.

When i played i used Long Swords,Lances, and sometimes bowguns . My armor i use is normally Full Qurupeco but i did change it if i felt needed for specific monster. Such as wearing full Gigginox if i want to kill Gigginox to try and get Fearsome marrow <.< that is near impossible to find. I tried to play it a week ago after not playing for a while. I fought Gigginox i killed him but not as fast/efficient as i could when i played 1 big monster a day for a while. Even against Great Jaggi i was so rusty that he hit me a good number of times when he normally doesn't

When/If i ever get wifi i'll most likely start playing again though i will have to grind some Great Jaggis and climb my way up again to get back some of the rusty skills.

Also the LS i used is the Rathalos and Thunderclap LS

A) Really sucks :/ Online Tri is so f***ing fun!
B) I feel ya. I got bored of single player after awhile until I realized how to get monster data into your hunters notes, so now it's like i'm playing Pokemon: Monster Hunter Tri Edition. It's also fun if you try to make 1 of everything. I'm a pack rat player. Even if i'll never use it normally, I still want to have it.
C) Are you sure it's called Fearsome Marrow? I have a list and it says Fearsome Maw, but not Marrow.

Rathian is easy with any weapon as long as you properly time your attacks. Lagiacrus is more annoying than difficult. I killed Lagiacrus with my Volt Axe (R) in about 10 minutes. So even if you use a weapon it resists, just learn it's attack patterns and you'll be fine. Royal Ludroth is abysmally easy.

I use Great Sword, Hammer, Longsword, and Switch Axe. My first complete armor was Quropeco...but after while you realize that it's a terrible set. I have full Quropeco, Ludroth, Rhenoplos, Lagiacrus, Rathalos, and Helios (Ceadeus Armor). I'm working on Rathian and Uragaan armor right now.

Yeah, Monster Hunter is the kind of game that really makes you suffer when you're rusty. Just keep practicing in Moga Woods or something.

My weapons of choice are:
Great Sword: Rathalos Firesword, Viking Hornsword, Lagiacrus Blade
Hammer: Red Bludgeon
Longsword: Wyvern Blade "Fire", Thunderclap, Barbarian Sword
Switch Axe: Volt Axe (R), Inceadeus, Rough Edge

Yea i meant maw xD sry its been awhile so i forget some names.

I find qurupeco useless due to the fact my potions = mega potions which is useful imo. plus the invisible frames are helpful.

My Full Sets include:
Great Jaggi
Qurupeco
Barroth
R. Ludroth
Gigginox
almost full Rathian (need the plate which is a pain in rear to get)
Ingot

and i think some others but don't remember

When i played i always went into Moga woods after i look to see what the monsters of the day were. Than killed them and did not return to the village until i got a specific amount of RPs or higher. I found killing Lagi fun especially in Moga woods seeing as no time limit. I got the high quality scale from him that i wanted to use to get cha-cha's feline mask but the guy did not have it...So i got the boat upgrade i think it was the black ship which ever one has the highest resource idea to get.

One of my favorite things to do against bosses was to trap-barrel bomb Them at the get go to make them even easier to kill.

Yea i noticed that after fighting are alot, but i hate fighting Rathalos is like Rathian but harder and more annoying (especially when he flys out of reach and i don't have any flash bombs on me)

I dont use hammers because i cant get the super pound off with a Nunchuck + Wiimote (or i dont know how) and Great Sword its ok but i have to hold my Wiimote straight up all the time so i can use the charge slash

Well there's your problem...YOU USE THE WIIMOTE! I got the Bundle Pack that had a Jet Black Classic Controller Pro in it. Get a controller and you'll be fine forever.

Fearsome Maw has a 12% drop rate if you scar Nox's Head and/or Body. If you scar both, you get double the chances.

I got a Rathalos Plate during an Online Quest when we cut the tail off. Everyone was pissed at me XD

I killed Rathalos and Lagiacrus in Moga Woods at the same time today. They were both in the area so I went for it and did it without dying. Got a Vermillion Scale and Sea king's scale so I maxed out all 3 of the ships and got Chacha's Feline Mask AND Boom-boom dance using all the Rare goods I got from all the time there.

I love Flash bombs and Pitfall traps. Ever see a KOed monster in a Pitfall trap? I have.....so satisfying....hammers are awsome. In Freedom Unite, I always Flash Bomb spam Rathalos and Rathian and use my Juggernaut hammer to kill the G-class ones in under 5 minutes usually. I killed a Low-Rank Azure Rathalos in under a minute before. I can even prove it if I could get a picture of my records page. But alas, since Monsters in Tri can now build up resistance to traps, Flash bomb spamming no longer works. So I fight them the harder (and admittedly more fun) way.

I have to use a Wiimote thats is all i have... Plus its not that hard with it just can't use hammer to full potential but i prefer Lances, Bowguns, and Longswords that are easy to use with a wiimote.

I have to fight Rathalos more to get use to fighting him. Lagi is not that hard to beat or wasn't when i played XD. And i try to get that maw just cant get it and all i need is 1 to upgrade my Gobul Lance.

Ya i wanted Cha-CHa's feline mask but the guy did not have it <.< and still doesnt have it

Played some MHT Killed a Rathian, Great Jaggi, and Rathalos in Moga Woods.

Note to self: Don't Fight Rathalos while wearing Alloy armor with a LS he will 1-2 Hit kill you <.< (insta-fireball + charge = dead or 2 charges in a row = Dead) - and also bring supplies (i forgot to bring some steaks, antidotes, etc. luckily it i was just free hunting in Moga woods)

Than i tried Rathalos on the moga woods quest with the Spiral Lance. Would have completed it to if the jerk did not fly away when i set up my Pitfall trap and of course Great Jaggi was of no help <.<. Had to End via subquest after along battle ( i was using my Ingot armor this time around to resist the wind thing and equpped with a talisman that gives half stun and gemmed for negate stun)

A) only had 10 minutes left
B)died 2 times and did not want to take my chances

The 2nd death was bull because i was trying to use an herbal medicine but the poison killed me before i could finish using it

Haven't got a chance to check my own thread here until today lol...

Wii Classic controller is pretty helpful
In monster hunter, rare items take forever to get...I still remember last time it took me 3 days to farm my first Heavenly Narge scale and an entire day for Jaggi stuff.
About Los Plate...I guess I will be one of the angry mobs...I've been getting tons of Rathalos Ruby and no Plate...and Los are certainly harder in my opinion in Tri partially because of the tricky terrain...adding to the fact that it is in my top 5 hated monster already.

I hate cheap move combos monsters use...can name a countless of them right now but don't bother. and I hate it when I forgot supplies at home (such as trapped a monster after it's weak, then realized that I forgot my tranq bomb)

I love collecting a lot of weapons and armors even if I don't use them...then might someday got stuck on a quest and try them out
My favorite weapon is Long Sword and Bowguns...preferably LBG unless I lack the firepower to kill something.
Currently I've been playing Unite and try to rush for HR9...Volganos/Lavasioth is a pain to me...so I have to put off Tri for a moment.

The best part about Tri is ONLINE lol, especially seeing noobs getting pwned...I feel ya too, since it takes forever for me to get Unite online I feel kinda lonely now.

I still remember my most epic fail is Black Fatty Quest in Freedom Unite...Killed the fatalis with Dragonator and as a result of that missed six carves in upper body and head T_T


Btw Monster Hunter P3 is coming out in Japan in December...and it should be in US around June-July next year, can't wait

MHP3 will be on PSP, of course...farm will be expanded, there will be more content than P2 and Tri but slightly less than Freedon Unite...New monster will include Qurupeco subspecies, Black Tigrex, Jinrouga, among other agile creatures, and Nargacuga and Yian Kut-ku from Freedom Unite will be returning.

In which i will not get because i do not have a PSP...


And also i hope they make a new Monster Hunter Game for the wii (360 n PS3 are useless at the moment because my 360 died 2 months ago and i dont have a PS3)
Though i am surpised this time after being rusty i did not do as bad as i did the 1st time i rusty and came back to MHT
