Sonic the Hedgehog: The Darkness Around Us [IC Thread/Started/Accepting in OOC Thread]

Neo Chaos simply smiled. [i]Feed all you want,[/i] he thought. [i]You might get stronger, but I will never get any weaker.[/i] Indeed, Horus' power might have been increasing, but N.C.'s wasn't changing at all. He summoned a Dark Shield of sorts; Horus now would be feeding off of [i]it[/i], which wasn't nearly as powerful as N.C. was.

[i]Back at the Ship[/i]

Sonic looked at Amy. "Great, we have a helper! I'll help too," he said. "Good," Eggman said. "To fix the ship, we'll need some materials. I so happen to have plenty of spare parts on the ship, in the Cargo Bay." Sonic said, "I'll go get some of them." He ran down to the Cargo Bay, gathered some materials, and brought them back up at the speed of sound, taking only about 2 or 3 seconds.

[Mr. Hyde]

Nazo appeared right by Horus's side. "So this is the all powerful Neo Chaos...He doesn't look so tough." Nazo smirked. "Horus, why not take him out now. Are we waiting for those fools to turn these emeralds into super emeralds so that we may gain the new negative energy." Nazo suddenly cut off his sentence short. "Well...that didn't really work out well with me last time.......I guess we'll just have our super forms at the ready." He pointed at Neo Chaos. "So what is it that you want?"

Lance looked at everyone helping. Shadow was on one of the wings kicking back. He growled. "Damn...i guess i'll help. Strength in numbers right? I can't go this alone..." Lance said. He stepped beside Amy and waited for instruction.

N.C. continued to smile. He utilized this time he had been given. Rather than answer Nazo's question, he did something else. [i]Sunlight Blast![/i] he thought. An explosion of Light (Positive) Chaos Energy emanated from the area between the two, a kind of attack that's like a more advanced version of Chaos Blast. He remembered that one of the hedgehogs, Horus, had been hit with his Chaos Manipulation earlier. [i]Activate Chaos Energy Influence--Chaos Manipulation![/i] he thought. This move activated the Chaos Manipulation that was "resting" inside Horus, and is extremely hard to resist, perhaps even harder than resisting the transformation Horus had gone through.

[Mr. Hyde]

Nazo braced for the attack and immediately got back into a battle position after being knocked away. Nazo smiled. "OH...so it's a fight you want. Well 'Neo Chaos', let me tell you that this battle will be like none other that you will be put through. I won't stop until every ounce of energy has left your body. I will be the strongest thing in the universe. More powerful than any star, or any universe. I am pure CHAOS!" Lightning surrounded Nazo as he spoke. His energy rose and he released a giant energy wave. It was black in color and eminated a purple glow around it. "Prepare for a battle of titans!".

Rather than try and evade the burst of positive chaos energy, Horus chose to do something else entirely. He utilized Chaos Control to transport himself into the exact center of Neo Chaos' mass. Then, spreading his arms and legs wide, he began sucking the very Chaos from which Neo Chaos was made into himself, growing more powerful every second even as his attack diminished Neo Chaos. Come to think of it, this was a sort of modified form of the technique of using Chaos Control that Shadow and Sonic had once used to produce Shadic. The result of Horus using it to force Neo Chaos into being consumed could only be guessed at, mainly because no such thing had ever been done before.

"Nice try, you over grown battery. While I'm thankful for the strength your escape granted me, you're nothing but a resource to me!"

N.C. seemingly did nothing as he was absorbed, but in reality, he did far from nothing. He sent a piece of himself, no bigger than an atom, into the Orb of Dark Chaos (which was very well hidden), and used its power to drastically decrease his power, sending some of it to every Dark Mobian in the world as he was consumed by the power-hungry tyrant.

[i]At the Ship[/i]

Sonic was repairing the hull of the ship, where it had been damaged. Eggman was working on the spot of damage where the initial attack was, when the computer started beeping. "What could that be?" he asked himself as he went to go check it. It showed some Dark (Negative) Chaos Energy heading their way. He looked, but saw nothing. As it drew closer, it remained invisible until it was a few hundred yards away, when it suddenly appeared as a stream of black. This penetrated the ship easily, while leaving no damage, and went straight into Lance.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance smiled at Amy. He then felt a very very strong force of Negative Chaos Energy flow into his body. Lance tried to fight the infection of energy but it was just too much. "All of this power.....IS MINE!!!" Lance said. He gathered dark energy that flowed around him and shot it outwards in the form of small dark missiles.
"Royal Shield!" Shadow shouted. A shield of yellow energy surrounded shadow and protected him.

Nazo squinted at Horus. "Hmph...that was way too easy? Don't you think Horus?" he said with an eerie echo like voice.

Sonic turned around just in time to avoid the missiles that Lance had launched. "What's going on?!" he shouted to Eggman. "This Dark Energy Wave went into Lance! It made him the way he was right after that Dark Wave!" Eggman answered. "Lance! Try to resist at least some of the energy!" Sonic shouted.

[i]At the Orb of Dark Chaos[/i]

Neo Chaos regenerated himself through the Orb in a chamber, still in his lair, but this was designed to block out any energy coming in or out. He sealed the door with a bond made from the Orb. [i]When will they learn that a simple increase in power can not defeat me?[/i] he thought. He simply smiled at their actions, knowing that the orb will eventually be destroyed (as everything must come to an end), and when it does, the hedgehog known as Nazo will be destroyed; the hedgehog known as Horus will revert back to his original self and be heartbroken, for every member of his family and those who are close to him will be gone because of him.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance looked at Sonic. "Oh Sonic....I really wish i could. But this just feels....just so damn good!" Lance shouted as his hands glowed black. A jet boot was lodged into his face, but he didn't even budge. "Oooooh, Shadow with the sneak attack. How predictable..." he smirked grabbing the hedgehog's leg and throwing him through the air. Shadow caught himself and grunted.
"This can't be happening...Sonic, what do we do?"

Nazo crossed his arms. "Neo Chaos...What is your purpose right now? What are you trying to accomplish?" Nazo asked. "And if the words, utter world domination, escape your mouth," Nazo charged a tiny orb of negative energy on the tip of his finger, "I will put this Chaos Bullet straight through your head!"

Sonic looked at Shadow. He ran over to him and whispered in his ear, "Do you have any access to any Positive Chaos Energy? We may be able to counteract some of the energy that just came into Lance." Eggman was trying to find something as well. [i]His power seems about the same as Horus! And he didn't even show any hesitation when faced with Amy![/i] he thought. [i]He's evil now... Will there be a way to change him back? This might help...[/i] He pressed a button on the computer, and a miniscule hole appeared in the metallic base the computer was on. The plan was to shoot a good 50,000 volts into Lance, hopefully stunning him. Just then, an arc of electricity shot out through the hole, straight towards Lance.

It was at that exact moment that Amy went into another sort of "Berserker Rage" and grabber her hammer, rushing full speed at Lance from behind. She lifted her hammer high into the air and brought it down with all of her strength towards the back of Lance's head in an attempt to knock him out. Whether the strike hit or not, her next move would be to spin about, attempting to slam the hammer into his side and thus send him hurtling into the nearest wall of the ship.

[i]Meanwhile...[/i]

Horus remained levitating where he was, but something was very much different about him. His body now changed, altering slightly as his hands, feet, and spines became crystalline, a deep black aura surrounding his body at the same time. He was completely consumed by the chaos he had gained from absorbing Neo Chaos once, and now he was sensing a new source of chaotic power. He slowly levitated towards the ground from where he had been floating and, following the Chaotic Power he was sensing, made his way directly to the entrance to the chamber in which Neo Chaos had reformed. He was quite enraged to have been fooled so easily, and he began building up as much chaos energy as he could into a space between his hands, preparing to unleash it in an instant to destroy everything around him without a word.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance looked at the bolt of electricity come at him. He took one step to the right and dodged the bolt. "Really?! Is that all you can do!" Lance laughed. He then felt a hammer hit him in the back of the head. He then turned and blocked the hammer that was swung at him again.
Shadow balled his fists.
"I might...." Shadow said. He concentrated and gained as much positive chaos energy as he could hold. His fur glowed yellowish. It was almost enough energy to turn him into Super Shadow. He then shot an orb of pure positive chaos energy at Lance. Lance's eyes widened as he tried to fend off the blast.
"If this is all you have, Shadow, i'd try harder!" Lance flung his hands up to the sky, shooting the pure orb up. When it fell down, he kicked it at Shadow who then re-absorbed it.
"Damn....that's the last time i listen to you Sonic...." Shadow said.

Eggman had an idea. [i]It's a brilliant idea, Sonic![/i] he thought. He pushed another button, and the whole area was filled with Positive Chaos Energy in a bright white flash.

[i]With Neo Chaos[/i]

The Orb of Dark Chaos started glowing black, and Neo Chaos sensed Horus just outside the door. [i]The Orb of Dark Chaos has as much power as a Chaos Emerald, except all Negative Chaos Energy. There are only 2 things in the universe that are more powerful than the Orb! 2 things that could destroy it...[/i] he thought. [i]It will not allow someone to break through its bonds so easily! Just keep trying, young hedgehog...[/i] He used the Orb to look through the past, and how Horus used to be, for his memories, as for every Dark Mobian, were still there, simply unreachable because they had been buried in his mind so far down that it would be very hard to retrieve them. The Orb can easily cut through the corrupted parts of the mind and find one of the very few things that can bring a person back to their senses: memory. [i]He has changed severely,[/i] he thought. [i]The Chaos Energy really did a number on him...[/i]

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance shouted as a bright light flashed around him. "GEEZ WHAT WAS THAT!" he exclaimed. Shadow smiled.
"I'm going to enjoy this...." he said. He took all the positive energy from the area and absorbed it. His fur turned bright yellow. "Maybe i can beat the dark chaos out of you?" he laughed. Lance gave a little grunt.
"Tch...you can't stop me!" A Purple Aura surrounded him. It grew more and more intense every second. Shadow looked at Sonic.
"Hey man, you wanna get in on this?"

Perfect Nazo still hovered in mid-air. He looked at the newly transformed Horus. "Hehehe...you look pretty crazy comrade. If only i had absorbed that energy before you..."

Sonic nodded at Shadow. "Definitely!" he said. He absorbed some of the energy that Shadow was omitting. He turned into Super Sonic, and whispered to Shadow, "What do we do?" Eggman was watching, but decided to use a portable machine he built to Chaos Control to somewhere else in the ship. He started repairing the ship.

[i]With Neo Chaos[/i]

As he waited for Horus, N.C. grew bored. He then decided to remove the energy blocker from the room and Chaos Controlled to a mountain far away from the current lair. He then used the Orb to teleport everything and everyone, except Horus and Nazo, into the inside of the mountain after he had transformed it into a new lair, which to any onlooker looked completely normal, and could not be sensed by anything. He teleported inside and sat down on his black throne.

[Mr. Hyde]

Shadow couldn't shake the feeling that time and space had been manipulated for a little while. *Huh...what was that?* he thought to himself. Shadow then focused back to Lance. "You fools dare challenge me!" Shadow nodded.
"Indeed we do." He then whispered to Sonic, "We only have a short amount of time, this energy will wear out in a matter of seconds to minutes." Shadow bolted towards Lance and punched him in the face, sending him flying. Shadow then teleported underneath Lance and kicked him in the back. Then, Shadow flew higher above Lance and slammed Lance down with both fist. He then took his palm and shot continuous beams of energy at Lance. After an explosion, Lance got up from the crater. He wiped some blood from his mouth and smirked. "Is that...all you got." he struggled to say.

"THE HELL! Where'd he go!" Nazo exclaimed.

At the exact instant that Neo Chaos used Chaos Control, Horus induced his own and simply let Neo Chaos' intended destination guide him. Thus, he ended up apearing only a few meters away from N.C. in his new hideout and unleashed the massive amount of chaos energy he had built up in the form of an immense, all-consuming conflagration which swept over the mountain and was visible for miles. Horus hardly seemed to be exhausted as he looked up at N.C., stretching out his hands towards the being once more as he built up still more chaotic energies for an attack.

"You have a tendency to under-estimate your opponents, don't you?"


[i]Meanwhile...[/i]

Amy suddenly leapt at Lance once more, moving to strike at him again with her hammer, still very much in her berserk state. As such, she wasn't going to let one strike be enough and began unleashing a flurry of full-strength blows with the hammer one after another at Lance, each one seemingly stronger than the last. Her decision to take advantage of his slightly stunned state after Shadow's attack gave her a substantial advantage.

Seeing Amy coming, Sonic immediately got out of the way. His plan was that as soon as Amy finished, he would kick Lance in his back or in the back of his head, and then fly to him wherever he landed and do a "Falcon Punch"-style punch on him.

"'Under-estimating'? Don't you think that's a bit of a strong word? Young hedgehog, I have thought of where you will be in the future, whilst you only think in the present. I have looked into your past; you certainly are not the hedgehog you used to be..." N.C. said as he looked at Horus.

[Mr. Hyde]

Lance was slammed with a ton of barrages from a hammer. It didn't affect him that much, however, the blows were getting increasingly stronger. "Stop...Stop.....STOP!!!!" He said as an explosion of Dark Energy erupted from Lance's body. Shadow was flung back. His fur then turned back into it's black self. This would mean Sonic wouldn't be in his Super form anymore either.
"Damn...Sonic, the energy wore off." Lance smiled at this.
"Now you're not much of a threat!" He said about to punch Shadow square in the jaw. He stopped as soon as he saw Amy. "Amy....?" he said dropping his fist. Shadow placed his hands on Lance's chest and shot a burst of chaos energy.
"That was all i had...let's hope it did the trick." As Lance lie on the ground, dark chaos energy seeped from him and back to wherever it had come.

Nazo sensed a familiar dark energy. "Hm....maybe i should follow that energy?" he said to himself.

Sonic had a thought. "If it was this hard to beat Lance, than we have almost no chance of beating Horus, even in our super forms. Unless, of course, we somehow suck all of the Dark Chaos Energy from him. Then he would probably return to his original self," he said. There was a way to do this, however, but none except Neo Chaos knew how. They had to destroy the Orb of Dark Chaos using one of the things that could. This action would result in everything returning to normal.

[i]With Neo Chaos[/i]

Neo Chaos continued to look at Horus, when he felt a relatively small amount of Negative Chaos Energy enter him again. Without making any gesture, he sent that amount plus some to the Master Emerald. When it entered, it completely nullified the Master Emerald, eliminating one of the two things that could destroy the Orb of Dark Chaos.

OOC: Orb of Dark Chaos can also be shortened to Dark Orb, BTW.
