Mechagnome
This has been starting to give me migraines. Do Tribute Summons and Tribute Sets count as Normal Summons and Sets? The Monarchs effects read when they're Tribute Summoned, they activate, but Gilford the Legend states his effect activates when he's Normal Summoned (How are you supposed to Normal Summon a Level 7+ monster?). Please somebody clear this up.
darkguy00000
I'm 95% sure the two terms can be used interchangably. I think Tribute Summon is what you'll see on the newer cards though.
Shaco
Well Gilford's effect is stated that way because it works with a normal summon of either kind (normal/tribute) If you activated 2 Cost Downs to bring his LV down to 4, then normal summoned him, his effect would activate The same is not true for the monarchs, if you activated Cost Down, then Normal Summoned a Monarch, it would not get its effect because it was not Tribute Summoned. Tribute Summon is basically a refined definition of Normal Summon. If a card effect says "when a card is normal summoned..." then it would work for when a monster is Normal Summoned or Tribute summoned If a card effect says "When a card is Tribute Summoned..." it would only work when a monster is tribute summoned, not just normal summoned.
