Catterjune
Wait that was just Act 1. What happens in Act 2?
The story gets most depressing! =D Kids are still alive, but they summoned an ancient evil demon thing. Knights of Kadasid (notably, Dame Meeka, the one who killed that random guy in cold blood in Aiden's part in like, the first or second chapter) are ever so pissed. She uses her chain-sword thing and attempts to strike any one of the random kids in the face, but one of the Knights blocks it. One of the knights assures them that "as long as they have breathe and hold their weapons, Absolution won't win"... seconds before Dame Meeka is killed (as she is not holding her weapon but rather, the chain on which it was held). As they escape, the Knights tell the kids their weapons are the source of their immortality (Hence why despite they still look young even though they defeated evil 16+ years ago). As the chapter progresses, each Knight is slowly picked off one by one by the demon lord, as they're separated from their weapon. Zero assures the other 4 that, since their weapons grant immortality, the Fragment kids should be safe if they hold onto Kadasid weaponry. tl;dr, they're not. And Zero is killed by Absolution. Terra spots Elise some distance away as they make their escape, and they spot the carriage Mystral rode in on. They hook the carriage to Elise and take off for, I guess safety? No place is really all that safe though, with Absolution about ruining things. More plot exposition and Terra's kingdom and Mystral's dad's house. They explain how they found the kids when the world ending stuff was over with, and give what little information they can about the Knights of Kadasid. The only info they can offer was they heard tell of ancient weapons being made up North, in a far away island some where. They head to Aiden's place to load up on weapons (since they don't know what's there) and travel north. They go to whatever island and find some old ancient looking books explaining more about the Knights of Kadasid. The book explains about a mine nearby, where Eternium or some other stupidly named metal exists, which was the only metal capable of forging the Eternal Weapons, the ones wielded by the Knights that granted immortality. The kids attempt to mine some, but only get enough ore for one weapon, according to Aiden who knows a bit about weapon screwing with. The dig deeper into the book and find one last key ingredient for the Eternal Weapon. It needs a human soul. Not just any random one though, one close to the person who wielded it. The bond that the person and it's wielder shared form an unmistakable power and etc etc. The kids can't imagine the Knights being close to anyone, but give it little thought. Ultimately, they can't decide who should make the supreme sacrifice and find themselves unable to know what to do with the Eternium. Nicholai and Matilda have an idea though. They've been tracking the kids and spying on them and other such stuff and it was time for the final part of their plan. Nicholai sacrafices himself. Matilda uses the Eternium, which transforms itself into a sinister looking dual bladed scythe. She is now immortal, and wields a super powerful weapon. The kids are out of Eternium, and out of their last good shot to stop Absolution. And that's how Act 2 ends. ... And I never gave Act 3 any thought at all, so don't ask. >_>
