Emotional gaming.

Have you ever felt emotionally moved while playing a video game? If so, which one and what scene? (For example, did you cry because of the events on-screen?)

I cried when I finished Mother 3. That game touched me dearly, mainly because it's so heart-wrenching and full of emotional scenes. It made me realize how important family is.

I don't usually feel very moved by videogames as I hardly have enough peace and quiet at home to feel involved by the on-screen events; I just can't get into them because of the commotion around me.

I did, however, actually laugh in front of the TV playing Persona 4, in great part thanks to Yuri Lowenthal's awesome performance and some great localization work.

Some scenes also got me pumped up, I've been fortunate enough to play games with very powerful last boss sequences.

The only time I came close to feeling moved was another scene from Persona 4 that I happened to play while on vacation without my family. This one, for those of you interested (MAJOR spoilers for P4): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTiVCIS4iAU&feature=related

I get sad whenever I finish DK64, because that was the first game I ever played.

I feel sad when I finish off a great RPG or a nostalgic game, and then I see the credits roll. It makes me feel like my ride is over. ><

Huh. I want to give the Persona series a try. I've heard good things. ^^

Also, this scene moved me. How could I forget you, Okami? D: link
Of course it mainly moved me because of the beautiful art style and awesome music. I've heard few compositions top it. <3

There's no chronological order, each game has its own story, so try either P3 or P4. 4 definitely fixes some flaws of 3, and it has amazing voice-over work, but 3's plot is deeper and darker; I for one like it ever-so-slightly better than P4, which is more light-hearted, but they're both tremendous games if you like the JRPG genre.

If you consider the rush of adrenaline an emotion, I've been emotional all the time when I play video games!

But the only time I've ever cried was when I recently beat Super Mario 64 and watched the credits sequence again. Loved that game, and nostalgia just overcame me.

MGS4 DAMMIT.

D=

Microwave scene made me cry manly tears.

Also, when
Naomi
dies after Raiden is fighting Vamp/Snake is fighting Gekko
Forgot about that one; Not so much as the character dying, but Otacon's reaction was very, very well portrayed.

This is why you can have multiple files, AND delete your old ones

Replaying a game doesn't feel the same because then you know what's coming. Derp.

I'll check them out, when I have the chance. :D

@Dark - I had nearly the same reaction when I beat MK64. xD
@Ice - Not clicking those, because I plan to play those games later.

I begin to cry when I listen to the song of healing (when healing Darmani and Mikau's Soul and from healing the little girl's father) from Majora's Mask(wimpy eh?).
The Song of Healing is beautiful, so I understand. ^^

I think it's more relaxing... <3

Especially 1-4 and 2-3. And maybe 3-4.
... 2-3? The one with the circus? That one wasn't emotional. <_<

Gotta agree with Phoenix Wright though. Those games are streets ahead. I think the saddest one for me was 1-2 though. I just didn't expect the victim, and it got me really pumped to find the real killer.

I'll let this go past.

For Science.

...You Monster.

Sorry. D:

Deviating from the topic a bit, I don't know of any Pokemon games that have made me feel overly emotional, but the ending sequence to Mystery Dungeon 2 was quite moving, imo.

Yeah the circus. I don't know why,
I just feel really sorry for Acro.
Majora's Mask, particularily the Song of Healing scenes (poor Mikau), and the ending to the Kafei and Anju quest.
Ace Attorney 2-3 for the same reason as Ice. I didn't want to finish the trial :(
Kingdom Hearts's ending and (spoiler?) Sora's sacrifice.
