The Hunger Games. Honestly, I couldn't even start the 2nd book.

=O What didn't you like about it?

HP was good. Never read Eragon.

Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. Although I don't actually know if a lot of people liked it.

IMO it had no "good" characters. All of them were just plain robotic, and none really remained in my head. The main character's a perfect new wizard who has strong powers against the enemy, while the antagonist is an evil sorcerer who wants to take over the world. The leader of the good guys is a solemn and kind teacher with a long white beard. They need a unique character. Maybe if Harry was humorous like Percy or Bartimaeus, I would have liked it. Or if Ron or Hermione had something more interesting. But I see none. The plot is good enough, but the characters need improvement.
